Overheard: Kelly Osbourne's not so merry Christmas

Losing a pet is never easy, but it seems it would only be that much worse on a holiday.

Kelly Osbourne and her family experienced exactly that on Christmas this year, as Kelly tweeted Sunday:

"Today is a sad day in the Osbourne family house hold we lost R dog martin of 14 years. Devastated does not quite sum it up! #NotSoMerryXmas"

But it sounds like some of the family's holiday guests were able to lift their spirits a bit. Kelly also thanked interior designer and reality star Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, tweeting, "its never quite a party with out you there daaaarling. you really cheered my mum up so thank you!"

Thank you Nancy. Of crosue the birth represents all the other aspects that I have suggested. And the midnight mass is an important ritual that helps us remember. Perhaps I need to add observing important rituals

Derp! That is not funny. She lost her pet and it does hurt. I love my Yorkie and I pray that he stays with me a long, long time. Kelly, Speak of your pet and keep let the tears flow. I am so sorry! I love you on Fashion Police.

She is uglier than a dog, and she'll probably outlive both of her retar ded parents. Put her on a leash, give her some kibbles, and get on with it.

The family should just put Kelly on the dogs leash. Nobody would know the difference.

Thank you Dee! I get so ticked when I see her on Fashion Police. How are you going to criticize someone's fashion when you look a mess 90% of the time (unscientific #)? I do like the mom Sharon though!

Maybe I'm the only one that doesn't see the fascination with this family or what they have to say. Sorry to hear about their pet but there were families that lost a heyell of a lot more during the Christmas holiday

R dog. That is an odd name for a dog. I love animals so I bet the poor buddy is better off no longer being part of the nutjob family. Its a shame he wasnt just able to run away though. Poor puppy friend.

The dog's name is Martin. She wrote "R (meaning our) dog, Martin." Pay attention when you read.

Or people could start spelling out a word entirely, instead of being so lazy as to leave out two letters of a three letter word. If it's for rhetorical effect, it fails miserably.
