ABC announces midseason schedule, but where's 'Cougar Town'?Say it ain't so, Courteney Cox! Entertainment Weekly reports that ABC is cutting back on its order of new "Cougar Town" episodes after the comedy was mysteriously missing from the network's midseason schedule, which was released Friday. As was the case with "Community," there was confusion from "Cougar Town" fans when they didn't spot a premiere date and time for the ABC show. The network has lined up slots for "Celebrity Wife Swap," "Work It," and "GCB (formerly "Good Christian Belles," and before that, "Good Christian Bitches")," but not for two other anticipated new series: Shonda Rhimes' "Scandal" and Krysten Ritter's "Don't Trust the B-- in Apartment 23."
According to EW, those series will air eventually, as will "Cougar Town" - it's just that we'll see less of it. ABC has reportedly ordered 15 episodes of "Cougar Town" instead of 22. The website cites industry insiders who say the lower number of episodes is more a reflection of juggling their content than an indication that something's amiss with "Cougar Town." Says ABC from its official Twitter account, "Don't worry #CougarTown fans, the show is coming back next year...we just don't have the date yet!" For now, ABC has the new show "Work It" premiering January 3 at 8:30 p.m., and "Celebrity Wife Swap" on right after at 9 p.m. "Winter Wipeout" will premiere January 5 at 8 p.m.; "Shark Tank" on February 3 at 8 p.m.; "The River" on February 7 at 9 p.m. ; and "GCB" on March 4 at 10 p.m. Ashley Judd's "Missing" will bow on March 15 at 8 p.m., and the next season of "Dancing With the Stars" will kick off March 19, also at 8 p.m.

Always enjoyed watching Cougar Town with my wife. But they seem to be stringing the fans along. Maybe it will come back, maybe not. Maybe they change the name, maybe not. Etc. Don't know if we're willing to put up with it any longer. So we might just not bother watching when (if) it ever comes back.
My wife and I love watching cougar town together. We can't wait to have it back. it is our favorite show in the line up.
Cougar Town should be picked up by a station that appreiciates the talent the have. ABC can have the garbage like "The Bachelor" or "Wife Swap". Bring back the good shows. The funny shows.
abc pretty much axes couger town, but puts on the crappy new show about crossdressers. abc dropped the ball and lost another viewer.their lineup is pathetic.
DAMMIT! Community and Cougar Town are two of the funniest show son TV! In fact, Community is the only comedy I watch on that crappy NBC. Give them full seasons!!

Have you ever noticed that the characters on "Cougar Town" likes to drink...an awful LOT of booze ?
We'll probably see an "long stint in rehabilitation center" story arc on the show or "Courtney Cox's character needs a new LIVER and gets a donation...from Cougar Barbara"... that ought to thrill Abed over in "Community".
If not, Abed still has "Inspector Space-time" to enjoy....or the next straight-to-DVD edition of "Kickpuncher". (LOL)

Seriously! We love Cougar Town. Anyone for a vase of wine? This show is so much fun. Keep your pseudo-reality crap. I have stopped watching anything labeled as reality TV, there is nothing realistic about it! Bring back the gang, even TOM.

I don't watch it but ABC is going to be the awfully bad channel in a few years at the rate they're going producing reality crap. Their whole daytime network schedule will be FOUR reality talk shows next September. I won't watch the network after that except for taped episodes of 'Castle'.

It is a mind boggling coup, my friends. How have TV network executives and the media brainwashed society by putting trash on the small screen (snooki, the situation, and don't get me started on the kardashians), by calling it 'entertainment' and by suggesting we believe these people have 'star status' and are worth watching, by making more money than ever–leaving real artists and writers without jobs and leaving us with illiterate, ignorant programs: we may need to occupy hollywood next. I'm with you. And it isn't limited to TV; more and more movies are sequels and remakes. They don't seem to want to pay actual writers for original material anymore.
Looks like I'll be cutting back on watching ABC!

Bummer! I love Cougar Town! It's hilarious! Kind of like FRIENDS only replacing the coffee cups with wine glasses...so funny! I hope they do bring it back we absolutely have enough reality shows on...so sick of them.

Cougartown, ABC really got this wrong! Funny contempoary, believeable comedy. I don't know anyone I've talked to who doesn't like this show. Great cast and good writers. So many people asking what and where is Cougartown. "Come on man!" Do what you got to do. This is a primetime show.
They're CHEAP that's why. When stars command less per episode and they find writers who can actually write, we'll have good stuff to watch. Reality shows cost little because most of the people on them are using them to get a career, and they're not "starts". Just like sports guys, you can get some 5th round draft pick for nothing, but Michael Vick will cost you a $100 mil, because no one wants to watch the rookie. Sucks....I'd rather watch reruns of MASH or Law and Order, now there's some good writing/acting!
Get rid of the crap reality shows who the he** cares about stupid people acting stupid in front of the camera and getting paid. Put the good shows on, or for that matter get rid of the shows that are not as good as CougarTown, like Happy endings so STUPID!!!! Stop trying to redo friends you will never live up to it.
ABC banking on reality shows??? Bring back the sitcoms tried and true, Cougar Town is great sitcom, remember when ABC was on top??? Sitcoms lead the way!!! Bring um back!!!

I think the show is funny and witty. It is one of my favorites along with Raising Hope, Rules of Engagement and 2 Broke Girls.
Networks are out of control with reality shows. Seriously? Celebrity Wife Swap? Who gives a sh**? "Cougar Town" was a good show without a lot of drama. It was easy to watch and just as easy to enjoy. Put it back on and get rid of "Celebrity ________". We don't need it.
I couldn't agree with you more! And 15 episodes instead of 22 is a total ripoff. I remember when seasons ran 25 episodes. The industry execs are like monkeys who throw crap and just see what sticks. Try finding a quality sitcom these days, it's nearly impossible. Because I don't care for teenage moms, spoiled housewives, Kardashians and fake looking for love shows I find myself most nights tuned into HGTV. Somebody needs to put me in charge of programming!
Really – aren't there enough reality shows already on TV. Pretty soon I wont need a TV any more....seriously people go outside and live in the reality. This is a bummer...I really like Cougar Town – its funny, its entertainment....its an escape from reality....very disappointing ABC – you are providing less and less shows on your channel that i will watch.....i would rather watch reruns of Friends and other shows than another reality show.....for reals!!!!
I am so sick and tired of all the BS reality TV shows. Enough is enough, networks continue to cancel good TV shows, or end them just to put mindless crappy Reality Shows on the air. Seriously?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Its just as bad as a station still calling itself MTV, when there is no MUSIC!!!!
