Candy Spelling wins $90k on Vegas slots

Talk about the 1 percent: Candy Spelling, the wealthy widow of TV producer Aaron Spelling, just won $90,000 at the slots in Las Vegas, according to TMZ.

Yes, the woman famous for having rooms devoted to gift wrap and dolls in her ginormous mansion (which she sold earlier this year) just hit it big. Candy, mom to Tori Spelling, won her latest jackpot on the high stakes slots at the Bellagio, which run from $100 to $1,000 per spin.

We say her latest jackpot because this seems to be Spelling’s most recent win. In 2007, the millionairess reportedly won $200,000 on the slots, and in 2008, she's said to have scored another $180,000! All three wins took place at the Bellagio.

It gets better: Just days after her 2007 win, Candy also reportedly won a Prius in her own charity raffle. She told TMZ, "I'm gonna drive it!"

TMZ pegs Candy’s fortune as being in the $600 million range, but she may need her Vegas wins. She had to let the infamous Spelling Manor go for a paltry $85 million earlier this year - $65 million under the asking price.

It sounds like she might have a gambling problem!! Not that it would make much difference in her income but she probably had to spend about a million to get the 90k. And to sell her house for half of the asking price, that would be another sign she might be in trouble!!

I don't fault her for winning...people who can afford to throw away thousands in the hope of winning tens of thousands usually do win...but seriously why is this news? I think we have more important things going on in this country that are more worthy of reporting than this dribble...CNN you disappoint...heading over the MSNBC for real news...peace out!

Don't you dare besmirch this lovely woman. And the Bellagio is a wonderful place where even you can be a big winner. I am thrilled for her, now she can afford to upgrade to first class on the long flight back to beverly hills. . . I typed all that with a straight face and then scrolled up to see her photo again, wow what a pig. I wonder if she is sleeping with the troll that guards the bellagio bridge. Or perhaps she IS the bellagio bridge troll. I do not know but I certainly am bored now. I wish something more interesting happened today to comment about.

That is only ninety credits on a 1000.00 per spin game, or 180 if you are playing a 500.00 per spin game..that is very common and really nothing when you are playing on that level.. Its just a shocker to us broke folk... Just take a stroll through the high roller area next time you are fortunate enough to go to the see it all the time.

This is the dumbest article I ever read. $90,000 slot wins on a $1000 per spin machine are very common. If Michael Jordan wins $200,000 playing $25k a hand blackjack is that news?

This is a very misleading article ( advertisement). At 100.00 to 1000.00 dollors a spin how much did she lose before she hit the jack pot? Seems top me a 90,000 dolor jack pot is a small reward for a 100.00 to 1000.00 a spin. Dont be fooled by this article. Its no more than a press release by the Ballagio. They comp her room and invite photographers just for the press. Electronic slots are not risk and chance they are programed by employees of the Hotel. They may hit a 90,000 dollor jack pot every half million trys.

Spending $100-$1000 a spin winning 90k on a spin is nothing. This is essentially equivalent to winning $900 on a $1 machine. A nice win, but likely to be lost again if you keep playing for a couple more hours.

You don't know that she DIDN'T donate part/all of it, do you. Say what you want in your defense, but you truly, honestly, beyond a shadow of a doubt know - and neither do I. The difference is that I don't care. It's her money. She can win it and spend it any way she wants. And, yes, I'm envious. Any of us could use a fraction of that for, say, food? A trip? Band Aids...who knows. 🙂

Are you serous? What business is it of yours what she does with her money? Perhaps someone less wealthy than you should make some recommendations as to how you should spend your cash? Wealthy people like Candy feed the ecomomy. Her Vegas trips and the money spent on losses, hotel rooms, transportation, food and drink, entertainment, and myriad of other expenses support job opportunities for hundreds of people. The taxes on her winnings alone, tens of thousands of dollars, go back to the federal goverment to help support the nearly half of all Americans who don't pay $1 in taxes. Without big winning, big spending whales like her, more good, hard working people in numerous industries would be looking for jobs.
