Oh, poor Sheldon Cooper. He really bit off more than he could chew when he befriended Amy Farrah Fowler.
As he described it on Thursday night's episode of "The Big Bang Theory," "Women. Delightfully mysterious or bat-crap crazy?"
It seems Amy was devastated when Bernadette invited Penny, and not her, to shop for wedding dresses. So, she retreated back to her apartment playing a mournful (but hilarious) rendition of "Everybody Hurts" on the harp (and Mayim Bialik confirms that is indeed her playing the harp).
When Sheldon came by her apartment since "e-mail, video chat, tweeting her, posting on her Facebook wall, [and] texting her" didn't work, Amy craved human contact. The two ended up negotiating down from doing the deed (Sheldon's not about to go there, as he's made clear before) to some cuddle time, (though Amy gave him the FYI that "I'm just saying, second base is right there").
By the way, it has been quite the week for awkward cuddling, between Ted and the slutty pumpkin on "HIMYM," and Nick and his one-night stand on "New Girl." Between the three, Sheldon and Amy were actually the least awkward, but the aftermath was what was most hilarious about it.
"The two of you need to get your women in line!" Sheldon exploded at Leonard and Howard, as they ate lunch in the university cafeteria.
After a pretty low point for Amy, with Leonard and Sheldon finding her drunk on a sidewalk (and yet another proposition from Amy to go along with that), Bernadette seemed to work things out by making Amy her maid of honor.
Of course, that still doesn't mean that dress shopping with her wasn't all kinds of awkward.
It was another Amy-fest this week, and if you know me, you know there's nothing wrong with that.
Did you agree this was another stellar showcase for Amy? Do you think she will ever "go there" with Sheldon? Share your view on iReport or post your comment.
