While you were working...Today's news you might've missed:
MTV sued over 'Real World' sex assault claimTonya Cooley, whom you may remember originally from "The Real World: Chicago" and subsequently from "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins," is suing MTV and production company Bunim/Murray for alleged sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual assault, among other claims. In a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on October 27, Cooley also cites her fellow "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins" cast members Kenneth Santucci and Evan Starkman. Cooley alleges that while filming the reality show in Phuket, Thailand in 2009, male contestants, including Evan and Kenneth, "forcibly removed female cast members' bathing suits,"; inappropriately touched female cast members even though the women stated the physical contact wasn't welcome; and called the female cast members derogatory terms relating to their gender, among other allegations. Linkin Park gives back to kids affected by Japan tsunamiRight after an earthquake and tsunami hit Japan in the spring, band Linkin Park began to raise money through the non-profit Music for Relief, which went to the work Save the Children was doing in Japan. Now, six months following the devastation, Linkin Park was back in the country to see how those donations have helped kids who have lost so much. In the northeastern town of Ishinomaki, the musicians visited an elementary school where the students had been able to practice emergency drills with red, quilted disaster hoods provided by Save the Children. The hoods, as seen in a travelogue the band filmed, are cushioned to protect the kids' heads, and are also fire-proof. In addition, the children at the elementary school have received backpacks and school supplies. A 'boo' battle on 'Big Bang Theory'Thursday night's "Big Bang Theory" saw Sheldon getting the "Bazinga" scared out of him by the rest of the guys (though at first he was unimpressed: "'See you in hell Sheldon.' The most frightening thing about that is the missing comma"). He schemed through the rest of the episode about how to (mostly, unsuccessfully) get his revenge. Even Bernadette took part to foil Sheldon's plans, playing along with Howard, pretending to need medical attention, and Raj wasn't frightened at all when he found a snake in his drawer. 50 Cent and Gayle King's Twitter love festAccording to Twitter, there’s mutual affection between 50 Cent and Oprah’s BFF. Jezebel reports the “relationship” seems to have been sparked by 50 Cent’s appearance on OWN’s “The Gayle King Show.” “Ok I finally met a woman that is smart, sexy, sophisticated, classy and secure,” 50 Cent tweeted Wednesday. “I think I love her.” Kim Kardashian under fire for tweet trick?Kim Kardashian has been accused of using a tricky tweet to help her brother Rob hang in there on "Dancing With the Stars." A former "DWTS" contestant herself, Kim K. tweeted to her 10 million plus followers after Monday's show, "OMG I have @JustinBieber 's phone #!!!! 800 8683402! CALL HIM! He's taking calls for the next hour!!!!" Perhaps there were some people who thought that teen singer Bieber could be reached via a 1-800 line, and only for an hour, because RadarOnline claims it's ruffled the feathers of Rob's fellow contestants, who remain unnamed. (The mirror ball trophy is not to be trifled with.) |
