'Cool': Beavis and Butt-head are backWith “Jersey Shore” on hiatus, Thursday will no longer be known as “Jersday” on MTV. Starting tonight, the day that once belonged to Snooki and The Situation will host the most famous teenage delinquents of the ‘90s: Beavis and Butt-head. After seven seasons on MTV, “Beavis and Butt-head” went off the air in 1997. More than a decade later, Mike Judge is back voicing the heavy-metal music fans. “Cool.”
After “Beavis and Butt-head’s” long-awaited return, the network will debut its new animated series, “Good Vibes.” The beach-set cartoon comedy features the dulcet tones of Adam Brody (“The O.C.”), Debi Mazar (“Entourage”) and Josh Gad (“Love and Other Drugs”). “Good Vibes,” which was originally meant for Fox, is a little raunchier now that it’s on MTV, said Brody, who voices the Jeff Spicoli-like character Woodie. “It’s the horniest cartoon I’ve ever seen,” he told CNN. “You can really get away with it with animation. … They’re attractive cartoons.” The show follows New Jersey natives Mondo (Gad) and Babs (Mazar) to their new home in California. The new friendship between high schoolers Woodie and Mondo gives the show its buddy comedy feel, Brody said. Aside from constantly speaking in a voice akin to Barney the Dinosaur, Brody said his favorite part of working with animation is the “gross-out things.” “A beer keg can be fired out of a cannon and hit a guy in the face,” he said. “He can be missing teeth and bleeding. The vulgarity and violence, I really like in animated form. … Now I feel like a jerk saying my favorite part is when the guy falls down and breaks his neck.” Between “Good Vibes” and “Beavis and Butt-head,” “It feels like the ‘90s again,” Brody said. “Good Vibes” premieres on MTV at 10:30 p.m. ET, right after “Beavis and Butt-head’s” return at 10.
