New 'Office' boss's brother? Josh Groban

Now that Andy Bernard is the new boss on "The Office," we're going to learn a little more about him this season.

For example, on Thursday night's episode, we meet his brother, played by singing sensation Josh Groban. (This actually makes a lot of sense, in a way, since Andy is quite musically inclined.)

As Groban explained to reporters, "Andy's the firstborn, which is usually the favorite son, but for whatever reason, as the second born, I both stole his name from him (he was originally going to be Walter, Jr.), and kinda wound up being a little more of the happy-go-lucky, successful guy, who can kind of do no wrong in the eyes of his parents. This episode shows that naivete and shows why Andy is the overachiever that he tries to be."

So the big question is, will there be singing in the episode? "This episode shows a tremendous amount of musical rivalry in the family, not only between Andy and myself, but our father, played by Stephen Collins ('7th Heaven'), who also has a beautiful voice. The whole musical tapestry of the family comes to light in this episode as well."

Groban revealed that he originally wanted to be a comic actor prior to finding success in music, even majoring in musical theater. "I joined an improv troupe called L.A. Connection and just started getting into comedy, and eventually went to a wonderful arts high school."

He also said he'd love to take on a Broadway role one day.

Prior to getting the chance to be on the show, Groban was a big fan of "The Office," as well: "I loved the DVDs of the British version when it came to America, I thought, what a brilliant job they did bringing it overseas and making it their own. When I got the call to be on it, I was really thrilled."

This should be a funny match-up. Ed Helms' character prides himself in his singing ability and always comes is the perpetual underdog. It's funny to have his brother be a better singer.
