Antonio Banderas, Eva Longoria to host Obama event

As we gear up for the 2012 election, Hollywood's citizens are throwing their influence into the political sphere.

Antonio Banderas and wife Melanie Griffith in particular are hosting an event for President Obama at their home at 6 p.m. on October 24, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Eva Longoria will co-host the gathering, which is intended to help draw support from Latinos, who comprise the second-largest population group in the country, according to the U.S. Census.

It's unsurprising that Banderas and Griffith are opening their doors for this gala, as the couple rallied behind the president when he ran in 2008.

According to THR, this event is a first: A national Latino fundraising fete to support Obama's candidacy. Tickets to the affair run between $5,000 and $38,000.

Your name suits you! So, you say let the car industry fail, affecting 1000's of jobs. Not only the folks that work for GM, Chrysler, but all the other companies that support the car industry. You do know that they are all making profit now, and have paid back the bulk of their loans. The government never ran these companies. The president did the right thing. As far as being the worst president in history, Nope George Bush meets that criteria.

@Adam: a socialist is one who advocates government control over means of production & distribution of wealth. HELLO! GM now managed by gov't due to bailout; trying to tax the rich to give to the freeloaders, I could go on all day. Obama is clearly a socialist and the worst president in the history of the US. Impeach now!

For the love of God, will you people learn what Socialism is? It's amazing how you idiots throw these words around without even knowing what you're talking about. Pathetic.

Obama has done so much for gay rights, I hate to see him lose come Nov 2012. I know on everything else he is an awful President but us gayHumpers should have our man in the whitehouse. We love Obama and I personally would get down on my knees and thank him.

      PS...I a socialist gayHumper.

Socialist? Don't use words you can't define. If you knew what it meant, you'd know it doesn't apply.
