TLC's 'Extreme Couponing' back with new season

Ring it up!

TLC's hit show "Extreme Couponing" comes back tonight for its second season, and we can bet you money that fans are eagerly awaiting.

If you don't know what we are talking about, you're probably spending too much on your groceries. The show focuses on those who take couponing to the max, at times getting several hundreds of dollars worth of items for next to nothing (and in some cases, literally nothing).

Not everyone loves the show, though. There has been some backlash from stores that have changed their coupon policies to prevent some of the super savings, as well as from couponers themselves who say the series presents their kind in a bad light.

Will you be tuning in? New season starts tonight at 10 p.m. ET.

I have watched this show a many times. It makes me wonder why these people hoard food. There are many people out there that can't feed their families. Instead of hoarding why not give it to the food pantries for the families that are on a limited income

I have a question for all those people who do "Extreme Couponing" and have their pantries (over)stocked with goods.. Do you REALLY NEED 20 cans of oatmeal, 40 hand soaps, 25 bottles of laundry soap? Why not share your good deals with those food banks in your area that are struggling to even GET donations? BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR and help out!!! Why do you need to hoard all that.. I see some people do help.. but in all the videos that I have seen, it breaks my heart. I am struggling too and don't have the room for all that. I do what I can..

I've seen a lot of this on talk shows, but I'm still confused. What do these people eat? All the coupons I've ever seen are for highly processed foods. Do these people not purchase meats and produce? Plus you have to purchase 2 of something to get a great deal ($1.00 off), so you're spending $6 to save $1?

I guess if I had cable, I could watch and learn more, but I don't think it's as easy as these people make it out to be.

seejenread – the benefit comes in when you are able to double coupons, then stack them with a store coupon and then a store sale. Sale your $3.00 and you have a $1.00 off 2 manufacture coupon, and the store doubles. But there is a store coupon for it for another $.50 off that they will double, and it's on sale for $2.50 each this week.. so it is $5.00 for 2, (1.00 manu coupon doubled = $2.00 off + .50 store coupon doubled =$1.00 off) = $2.00 for 2 ..

just an example .. my wife has been able to use coupons to get some items for free.. just need to spend the time to match the sales to the coupons to the items you need/want/use

I live in NY and do alot of couponing no only for myself but for a battered women's shelter – i save about 70% on my own shopping and 90-100% ib items for the shelter – and I do 95% of my couponing at Walmart.

THANK YOU!! I wish more people who do E.C. would sound off and say they are helping food banks and shelters.

I bet they don't shop at walmart. That "save money" talk goes out the window when you take a coupon to the register.

Actually my husband and I do most of our shopping at wal-mart. Every time we go to wal-mart we hardly pay anything and sometimes get paid. We have only been couponing for a few months like they do on the show and the best deals that we find are at wal-mart, Dillons, and Hy-vee. No I don't have a stock pile like on these shows, we just donate the extra to local charity and the USO.

A good deal is a good deal so we can't really complain when people take advantage...I'm definitely watching and I can't think of how many stories I've heard where people start couponing after watching this show. They may not clear the shelves when they do it but it if helps them save money on everyday items for their family then it's a good thing!

Extreme Couponing is a fun show to watch. I did like the man last season who bought enough personal hygiene products to send 1,000 care packages to our military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. That was amazing!
