New 'Office' boss: I see Steve Carell in a whole new lightEd Helms' "The Office" alter ego Andy Bernard has been declared the new regional manager of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch, and it seems the actor's trying to convince himself he's not feeling any pressure. "I feel more excitement than pressure," he said with a laugh to TVLine. "The character of Andy is a jackass, and that's a role I've been preparing for my entire life. It feels like a reboot for the show, with this boss change and James Spader coming into the mix. There's a real different energy afoot...I'm trying to make it sound like I don't feel the pressure but I guess I am trembling on my way to work everyday," he joked. And it sounds like he does mean nearly every day: Helms tells TVLine that his workload on the show has understandably increased.
"The workload is dramatically more than I've ever dealt with on this show before. I see Steve Carell in a whole new light. We all took it for granted just how professional and prepared and hilarious he was....I'm trying to step into those shoes," Helms says. As far as what kind of boss Andy will be, Helms sees his character as the guy who's actually "terrified" at the thought of running the show. "He is making an overt attempt to step up his game. And just me as an actor, Ed Helms, is feeling pressure and excitement about stepping into a larger role like this. Andy Bernard, the character, is also feeling a hell of a lot of pressure and anxiety. And that is a lot of fun to watch unfold - especially when juxtaposed with James Spader's fabulous Robert California." While it's easy to assume that means Helms is signed on for at least a few more seasons of "The Office," he tells TVLine that he's not sure anything is definite yet. "But," he goes on, "I hope we have a long and prosperous future at Dunder Mifflin. This cast has so many stories buried in it...everyone down the line is batting a thousand this season. And the writers have really bit into this fresh new fruit. It's a dream job." |

Without the irreplaceable lead superstar Steve Carell, there was a small doubt that the new Season 8 would somehow not deliver; should not deliver, why should it deliver!!…….and could not deliver.
However, such is the strength of the cast now, I really liked the first episode and it made me do what I like to do with The Office – hideously laugh.
People laugh because these actors connect and connect well. I recommend this connection to comedy yet again.
Best Wishes,

The million-dollar question: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God's name in vain? Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Have you looked with lust? Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. God, who the Bible says is "rich in mercy," sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for guilty sinners. We broke God's Law, but Jesus paid our fine. That means He can legally dismiss our case. He can commute our death sentence: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and God will grant everlasting life to all who trust in Jesus. Then read your Bible daily and obey it.

I like Ed Helms for the job, but they should have used this whole season to bring in different celebrity guest stars to interview for the manager position. Would have made for some hilarious episodes.
So not only has the Daily Show given us The Colbert Report, but now 2 regional managers of Dunder Mifflin. Jon Stewart please hire me!!!
Awesome...I'm a little bummed that I ruined the surprise (I work nights and have to Hulu, The Office) but I'm happy to hear that they've given the show (what I believe is) it's best chance to survive, w/the addition of Spader, and the "promotion" of Andy.
office has the best characters on tv – ed helms is awesome and deserves an emmy – wish ryan would have more lines – miss steve though but im such a fan ill never miss a show – the best and adding james spader is genious
Ed Helms is a really funny guy. I'm excited for the whole season of The Office for the first time in a long time.
