DiCaprio steps into character in 'J. Edgar' trailerWarner Bros. has finally released the trailer for one of the more anticipated films of the year, Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar." The film chronicles the life of former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, whose voice is almost unrecognizable in the clip. The film is written by Dustin Lance Black, who won an Oscar for his work on 2008's "Milk." The historical drama also stars Naomi Watts, Jeffrey Donovan and "Gossip Girl" star Ed Westwick, in addition to Judi Dench as Hoover's mother and "The Social Network" star Armie Hammer, playing Hoover's purported confidante and lover. The trailer shows Edgar go from a little boy being told he'll "rise to be the most powerful man in the country" to DiCaprio's adult portrayal. He tells Hammer's Clyde Tolson at one point, "Sometimes you have to bend the rules a little in order to keep the country safe." The film will debut at the AFI Fest on November 3, followed by a limited release on November 9. Take a look at the trailer and tell us what you think! |

A remarkably, horribly, miserable movie. People were groaning in disgust at some of the blatant attacks on things that could in no way be known by the writers. Pure nonsense and a history rewrite.
I was interested in this movie because of Eastwood. But it looks like he has taken to the hollyweird line hook and sinker. If I had known the writer was the guy that did "Milk" I would never have seen it. It was, in a word, disgusting.
The film makes a grotesque error. Edgar was told he would become the king of the world.
Wasn't a DiCaprio fan until "Inception," which was awesome. And with Clint Eastwood directing, I will definitely go see this.
I watched the trailer and it looks promising. I hope the movie lives up to the hype. I wasn't a DeCaprio fan until "Blood Diamond." He seems to improve with age.
This guy couldn't "step into a character" if a character were a pair of supermodel's underwear. DESPERATELY wants an oscar but knows he cant get one because let's face it he's the same guy in every movie, pretending putting on fake accents – wigs blah blah blah. No, you aren't goiing to get an oscar because let's face it you are shallow! You cant commit to a role like you can't commit to a woman. If you just got out of your comfort zone ONCE,maybe you would get some sympathy votes from the academy. That ladies and gentlemen in 30 seconds is better performance and delivery than in your entire career.
Looks great!; I've been waiting a long time for this movie to come out. Leo is the man.
Shameless Oscar bid by DiCaprio, who still looks 15, even with latex wrinkles
hey can't hate on the man for his looks. not his fault he isn't aging like a normal human being. got to admit if i was an actress i would put a shameless plug as well.
Bravo! I couldn't have said it better myself.
Sometimes you have to bend over a little to keep the country safe. And wear a dress.
