Charlie Sheen lands indie with Jason Schwartzman

Winning? Well, we suppose being employed always helps.

According to Variety, Charlie Sheen is set to star alongside Jason Schwartzman in a film that sounds like it draws inspiration from Sheen himself.

The indie, titled "A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III," will be written and directed by Roman Coppola (who also wrote "The Darjeeling Limited"). The movie follows a graphic designer whose "fame, money and charm" have made him a magnet for the opposite sex.

Until his girlfriend breaks up with him, that is, which sends the character's life into a tailspin.

This is the first film for Sheen since he was booted from "Two and a Half Men" back in March (and was subsequently replaced by a pantsless Ashton Kutcher). The 46-year-old actor also has a TV show in the works based on the 2003 Adam Sandler film, "Anger Management."

GO CHARLIE!!!!! THEY WILL REGRET YOU NOT BEING ON " MEN". Understand u have a drug problem but you never let it interfere with your work. Re-hab is all that was needed. Rob Lowe and many other celebs have done the same and are still talented. Dont listen to judgmental people that have no clue about being a celeb, or addiction or anything. Keeping creating the highes ratings, that will make them respect you and appreciate you even after the incident. Trust me all of those cast members looked pitiful even when they were acting. Could watch the show tonight cus it was so terrible. Charlie cant wait for you to come back!!!!! Please hurry back!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is hard to say ,no to the money and people connected. The show Two and 1/2 men was to long for Mr. Sheen. He was talked into it but needed to do something else. If the media papers say you are a player and that is who you wish to be stay with good lawyers and know when to stop is your greatest moves. Drugs will control your mind and life. Don't do drugs and see the changes around you. Freedom to be yourself not addicted.

100 miilion in settlement for getting fired. He's not worried about his money(false sense of security) He will continue to fall despite the winning perception. He is a sad individual, that has pursued attention in order to have a a sense of empowerment. Most of the viewers are charmed and drawn in by Charlie, but can't discern why they are drawn in. That is also very sad. Read up on covert agressive personalities and you will see an accurate description of Sheen.

You know, all you guys just keep talking, charlie made his decisions and has delt with them in his own way. Honestly, i dont think that there is anything wrong with charlie. For once, celbraties should get their own life without anyone else butting in. Put yourself in his position. if you were a celebraty and were put under that stress, i am betting that you wouldnt hold out half as long as charlie did. CHARLIE, NOT ALL OF THIS IS THE MEDIAS FAULT! youve made mistakes and i hope that youve became a better man for them. i can honestly say that i will support you whatever you decide!!!! i agree totally. Just glanced @ 2 and 1/2 men tonight for a few minutes and could not continue. Charlie is a brilliant actor and is truly missed on that show. luv ashton on " That 70's Show" but hate the way they dumb Charlie's character down. The brother jon cryer, goofy less intelligent one, now he is carrying the show and Ashton's character is so "dumb". Understand he is getting paid but Charlies character was a sneeky, clever guy, yet obnoxious but it was funny and it worked. I know Ashton is playing someone different but that character is so not working. I will not be watching. I did see a re-run of "men" earlier before the current show aired and the re-run with Charlie are hilarious. Charlie has a drug problem, NOT AN ACTING PROBLEM . cbs has to pay him 25 million (what I heard about the settlement) and now he is doing a movie and has another show coming up afterwards. CBS loss this one, they could have continued to make tons of money after charlie's re-hab. So what if an actor calls u some names, he works for you, you dont work for the actor (producers) Charlie wanted to come back and they refused so good-bye Charlie -so good-bye ratings $$$$$$$$ and good-bye the jobs of all the cast and employees of that show. I hope Charlie crushes them @ the next emmys. I hope charlie takes the ratings thru the roof!!! Charlie made that show and is irreplaceable. Sorry ashton, but Charlies shoes are a little too big for u to fill. Dont let them ruin your career with the dumb role. –Really is terrible. GO CHARLIE!!!!!!

Most people have very low standards when it comes to entertainment. Two and a half men was so boring and predictable! I struggled to make it through one episode. Charlie Sheen is a bit actor at best. It is irritating that all these crappy actors and actresses that go crazy get put in shows because of the free press they will receive and people wanting to see them crash and burn. I don't care about his personal life, I just think he is a pitiful actor. I get tired of seeing the same people play the same parts over and over and over again. Is it that hard to find somebody new?

Perfect example of a rodeo right here with Bado... Saying 2 1/2 men was boring, when it was rated the funniest show on TV time and time again. And ur making judgment on one episode? That makes a lot of sense rodeo! Bit act... again rodeo try highest paid actor on TV... Can you make any sense at all? Fact is he killed it on that show and millions loved him and the show. U just hate that he was so successful and can still tear it up in life and get away with it. It can't be any more obvious how jealous u are... Once again Rodeo!!!!

Half of you fools couldn't hang with a monkey let alone Sheen. I've never seen so many Rodeo's in my life! Charlie decided to blow it up for awhile so what. We need to thank him for the entertainment he gave us while it lasted. It was quality work! And who cares if he told the show’s producers to shove it. They deserved it for talking smack about the man that makes them rich very rich. I bet u all take abuse from your friends, family, boss, etc and never say anything back. UR weak and can’t take that Charlie spoke up for himself and didn’t give two ^$its. I bet big money that most of you rodeo's are sitting home with no friends and u lives suck. Charlie made that show and now it will flop like ur lives.. I would also bet that most of you haven't even watched the show. Rhonda ur RODEO FO SHO... U are surely not winning with that dumb comment... And how funny is it that some of u hates are taking the time to write about Charlie yet u hate him. Don't hate the player hate the game! peace out rodeo!

Both the new television show and this film are far from finished projects. The television show does not have a channel that has committed to airing it. Based on other posts, the show has no other actors, no director, no script and no producer. It is, at best, an idea written on the back of an envelope. The movie is an independent production, it also appears to have no script, no producer, no director and no other actors. When and if it is ever completed, it will need to be screened at film festivals in order to find both an audience and a company to distribute it.

An indie film and a possible new show (I stress possible) isnt winning. He is still paying millions per month to his kids and ex, paying millions for properties he is trying to dump on the market, and more than likely he will become a liability again during filming of his new projects.

The only people who approve of this train wreck are those looking for approval of their own train wreck of a life.

Steve... You obviously dont understand how Hollywood works!! The media hype around Charlie in and of itself is enough to sell a movie or show. All actors are a liability during the actual filming! The question becomes "How big is this particular liability" If Hollywood can find and insurance company to get a bond for Robert Downey Jr. ... Charlie should be a snap.

The guy is a bum and would take a role as garbageman if it would help him recover. It takes so little to entertain these days, and Sheen has just that -very little. Except of course for the disasters that everyone loves hearing about and the sensationalism with which he trumpets his aberrations. It seems that "sick" is "in," and whoever is the sickest (and is prepared to act it out on the world stage, whether real or not) gets the biggest payday. As much as I love money, I can't wrap my mind around degrading myself to that degree to get it. Sheen, apparently, has no problem with it. Power to him.

What a freak show. Most of us could live a lifetime on just one of his pay cheque's from that mens show. He couldn't have sucked it all up his nose by now? Might be cheaper to relocate and buy a coco farm in Columbia.

I think he's very entertaining when he plays himself. Any other role seems to expose a pretty serious lack of acting skill. But hey, more power to him; I hope he figures it out someday. And if I could only get somebody to help ME figure it out...

Charlie is an amazing talent. He just had a moment in his life when he said f@@k it all. He will come back bigger and better than ever. Those people on here that think they are so perfect, guess what, YOU are the twisted one.

Charlie is irrelevant. He just doesn't realize it yet.

I've never seen so many Rodeo's in my life! Half of you fools couldn't hang with a monkey let alone Sheen.

I'm so flippin disgusted. That is one movie I will not watch. Why are we continuing to flood his pockets with $$ just to keep him supplied with drugs and show our kids – YOU CAN BE A CRACK ADDICT AND STILL HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE. WE ARE ENCOURAGING OUR KIDS TO DO DRUGS. Anyone who supports this fool should be ashamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are we giving him any press or any attention. Let him try making 60k a year and see how easy it is. If our media keeps supporting idiots like this I may completely give up my TV, encourage others to do the same and never watch news again. WHAT ARE WE TEACHING OUR KIDS.......
