Alec Baldwin reveals new girlfriend, political plans“30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin has a new lady friend in his life, and he revealed her identity to David Letterman while visiting “The Late Show” on Tuesday, reports The Huffington Post. Baldwin is dating Hilaria Thomas, a 27 year-old yoga instructor, and, according to the New York Post, the actor, 53, is moving in with her. In addition to gabbing about his love life, the actor also shared about his previously-discussed plans to run for mayor of New York City. Letterman asked about Alec’s recent New York Times statements about one day running for office in the Big Apple. The actor kept coy about his intentions, but did note that he’s probably going to be too busy with “30 Rock” and hanging out with Hilaria (who made an appearance on the show) to make a run for City Hall. "Running for mayor and being the mayor are two completely different things, and my life is changing,” Alec shared. “I'm going to do the show for another year, and beyond that, I've got a woman in my life, my girlfriend who is very important to me..." "Would I rather be handcuffed to the emergency command center in Maspeth during a hurricane, holding down the fort and making sure all the plows are working ... or would I rather spend some of that '30 Rock' money traveling the world with my girlfriend?" Good point. Don't quit your day job, Alec!

I think Alec needs to sit down and rewatch his role in It's Complicated. Talk about life imitating art! In the movie he refers to himself as a 'cliche' due to his May/December marriage. My guess is his relationship will follow the same course as his marriage in the movie. Have fun with her Alec, but don't marry her!

Olivia you are on target. It really is about the disparity more than age. The problem is I'm not sure he can handle an accomplished woman like in the two couples you mentioned (Demi Moore; Catherine Zeta-Jonea). I've always admired him for his talent and brains, but let's face it, this is a guy who could literally have anybody and this is what he picked? Uh uh. HIs world is filled with mature, fabulous, talented women of great achievement and he ends up with an ex-dancer/yoga teacher. If he has ANY political aspirations at all, he'll have to dump this twinkie fast in order to be taken seriously. I think he'll see that eventually, but not before he makes a gigantic fool of himself. So sad. He's really got it all, and now it's all wasted on this mess. I'll bet even he is starting to sense that he may have made a BIIIIIIGGG mistake lol...
Just thought of another relationship ~ Demi Moore & Ashton Kuscher. Age doesn't matter if true love is there. My hubby is 13yrs my senior and we have been married 10+ years.
13 years is not that big. I say 15 is the cutoff, after that the differences are too great. It's more the DISPARITY in this case. He's successful and surrounded by incredibly talented amazing people that have careers and tons of things going on. People like HIM. And she's like: I'm going to go teach people to stretch. Nothing else. I have a class, more stretching... *YAWN*. Yoga is exercise, not a talent. he's too TALENTED to have a nontalent with no common work to be interesting for very long. The other couples are equal because they are all talented and successful in their own right. With Alec the relationship is completely one sided. he gives and she takes. Right now she's giving him stuff he hasn't done but she can't MAKE him do them. Once he's used to the lifestyle he won't need her, he'll just do it or not. He says she saved his life, but he actaully is the one that is doing the work of helping himself be healthier. No one can do it for him. he needs to give himself, not a kid, the credit. if not her then one of the millions of others that teach the same thing. She just is there due to proximity. He most likely in that frame of mind would have fallen in love with whomever he got as a teacher. he's in love with a feeling that his better health gave him. He's still so completely out of her league.
An example of age differences in Hollywood that work ~ Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. They are many years apart and are still happily married w/ children.
I agree. Once the allure of the trendy events wears off, and it will, it will be different., He is just like most wealthy men: taking advantage of what he can. To think he sold his expensive upper west side existence to buy her a $12million apt in Soho just exemplifies how far up her ass he is (he is PW'd as they say in cruder circles). And to the point about Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones: she was already famous, and had her own money. I believe Alec is looking to start all over and have a family like he didn't quite get the chance to enjoy with Kim Basinger.Problem is, by the time they have the baby, he will be much older. He obviously had to buy the expensive place to prove his love to her. She actually looks like a daughter. I think it looks odd. Catherine Zeta had a much more mature look. Hilaria looks like a little girl. I don't know why some men can't just age gracefully.
She's not in love with him. She's in love with: 1) his fame, 2) his fortune, and 3) his giddy "high" right now over being "in love" with her. When #3 wears off (and it will), he'll see that she's just after #1-2, and either he will dump her or she'll dump him after realizing she can't elicit the kind of manic response she's getting from him now. When the "high" wears off he's going to look at her (and vice versa) and wonder what he ever saw in her. She'll miss the money and the fame, but maybe by hanging around with him she'll meet somebody equally rich and famous her own age. Either way, this thing is not going to end well, but it -will- end.
Agree. He's known her for literally five months. That's not enough time to know if you want to marry someone. he's worth 70 million and is famous. She was his yoga instructor. i can't imagine the flattery that went on so that he'd pay attention to her. She acts like a coying little teenager. She's almost 30. I think she's taking him for a ride. She reminds me of Ariel, doesn't' talk just acts all shy and humble. Foreigners have that act down pat for tich old guys. She's foreign, she looks Indian or something.

Duh! I guess he likes em young, so he can feel younger! Seems to be typical of rich and handsome guys. Either she will tire of the sugardaddy he has allowed himself to be or he will yearn for more intelligent conversation with a woman his age like me, who shares many of his interests. However, having the young attractive nobody provides a challengeless relationship for Mr. Baldwin, and he doesn't have to compete with anyone. Billy Joel tried the same thing with Katy Lee, until she decided that hanging with an old guy was not as much fun. But , Alec is a socialite, so she gets to attend lots of fun and exciting venues. Like always being on vacation. It all falls apart when reality hits.
