Beyonce's big baby news at the VMAsBaby rumors began swirling when Beyonce appeared on the black carpet at MTV’s VMAs wearing a flowy red dress and holding her belly. And guess what: The rumors are true. The singer’s publicist confirms to CNN that Beyonce and husband Jay-Z are, in fact, expecting a child. In June, Beyonce responded to pregnancy rumors, telling CNN's Piers Morgan, "Only God knows" if a baby was in her future. "I always said I'd have a baby at 30. I'm 29. But I also said I was going to retire at 30. I'm not retiring." Beyonce turns 30 on September 4. "I feel like 30 is the ideal age, because you're mature enough to know who you are and have your boundaries and your standards and not be afraid of too polite, but young enough to be a young woman," she added. "I'm so looking forward to it." Beyonce and Jay-Z, who have been together since 2002, were married in 2008. That’s going to be one talented kid. Congrats!

Second of all: how come that so much blame is put on Beyonce for performing (!) for that man? I am very happy for both Beyonce & Jay-Z they are married and are obviously happy. I'm very happy because this is a black couple for one. And their on the right track. This is a black women that has prepared for herself as a lady first by having a successful career first then getting a husband that is too independent and now deciding to become a mother this to me is a blessed union and a great example of what we need to see more black women be. This is just another example of her success as a lady. I'm very proud of her. And I wish them nothing but the best. Congratulations girl for a job well done.

@david burns: You seem to be in need of a recent-history lesson on Libya. Firstly, Beyonce donated the proceeds of the concert to help thousands of Haitians. Second, as recently as 2008 and it's not hard to see all of 2009 as well, the US and Libya were on extremely friendly terms. Would you like to see the US Embassy's guide to doing business with Libya dated 2008? It won't help you now, but it helped many American businesses engage in commerce with the country. Ever since the US removed Libya from its list of state sponsors of Terrorism, things have been going very smoothly. It was only once the violent crackdowns on protests in the country in the last year or so that the US once again began treating Libya with hostility. So you see (google "libya us 2008" if it's still not apparent enough) your perspective exists only because you are judging events in 2009 based on events that have occurred since then. They have managers who come up to them and say, 'Hey, this guy's going to pay $1 million for you to perform- be there.'
