Ben Affleck in talks for new military flick

Fans of "The Town" are no doubt excited by this news - Ben Affleck is in talks to pull another directing/acting job in the upcoming action thriller "Line of Sight," which he may also produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Affleck is reportedly in negotiations to work on the Warner Bros. action movie. (Warner Bros. is owned by the same parent company as CNN.)

The film follows an elite military squad dealing with a serious global threat ... while transporting dangerous cargo. Standard plot. Except that there's a video game angle.

The game aspect comes into play with the perspective: the story is told as if it were a shooter game. Remember “Doom”? Sort of like that. To give it gamer cred, the script has been worked on by Peter O'Brien, who wrote the Xbox game "Halo: Reach."

Affleck’s other military movies include “Pearl Harbor” and “The Sum of All Fears.”

Just this week, the father of reportedly soon-to-be three began shooting hostage crisis drama “Argo.” He’s directing the film, and he cast himself in the lead role. No clashing egos on that set!

“Line of Sight” is slated for theaters in 2013.

Total noob of a script. Hollywood is utterly clueless about video gamer mentality. Video gamers do NOT care about someone, Hollywood included, trying to interpret aspects of their choice of entertainment, treating it as though it's something to relate with. LOL the only thing gamers care about is having a reliable speedy internet connection, a pizza, beer or soft drink, and when is the next level up.

So that leaves everyone else in the world, who probably couldn't give a flying farb about video gaming.

    See how that works. Morons.

Well, make sure they don't hire you (i.e. actor, extra, stage hand...), if you don't want to be affiliated with this movie.

Oh wait, maybe you just have the ability to buy a movie-ticket? Good thing your opinion counts!

Actually "Fortune Cookie", the people who buy tickets are the ONLY opinion that counts. And I don't see many people lining up to buy tickets to a movie shot from first-person perspective. Doom only did it for about 20 seconds, and it tanked the movie.
