Instead of a $10 million wedding, Kim K. could've bought...Kim Kardashian’s fairytale wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries reportedly cost about $10 million. The hefty figure - which happens to be the same amount of money the “Conan the Barbarian” remake made at the box office its opening weekend - most likely didn’t set the reality TV stars back too much. (According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Kardashian clan made $65 million in 2010 alone.) I've never commented on these kinds of things before and I don't watch the show, however, I'm shocked at the amount of comments and also some of their contents. The last time I checked, we are a country based on Capitalism, not Scialism, well at least for the time being. People should be worried about the direction this country is headed. I was raised to be responsible for myself and that if I wanted something, I had to work for it. Thank God that I'm healthy and can work. I don't expect anything that I haven't earned, and if someone gives me a gift, whatever it may be, e.g., money, dinner, a present, I am grateful for it. Life isn't fair and it never will be. You just have to do your best and work hard, and stop complaining about things you or someone else has or doesn't have. Just do your best to be a productive member of society and help your fellow man when you can. Don't judge others, for you are not perfect either. Take responsibility for your lives. Don't begrudge someone if they have more than you, be happy for them, and don't expect things to be given to you if you haven't earned them. Yes, there is a lot of corruption in the world, but, there's a lot of good, too. There's always someone whose going to have more than you.Just do your best and be grateful for what you have. I'm not wealthy. I live from paycheck to paycheck, but I pray every day to accept the cards I have been dealt, and believe me, look around, and you can always find people who have been dealt a worse hand than you. Work hard and treat people the way you want to be treated. Pray for this country, for if things keep going on the pathway they are, you won't have the freedoms that permit you to comment like you do now. Humphries nuptials this past weekend I can barely speak about it. I have never seen such a blatant waste of money...I mean, who really needs a $10 million dollar wedding? Given the state of our country, people losing their jobs and homes on a daily basis, this to me was in such poor taste. Of course, no amount of money can buy taste (as the Kardashian klan has proved). I am a strong supporter of our capitalist society, where no limits are placed on the amount of money that can be earned. This just crosses the line of human decency.

If I had that money I would help others instead o a 10 mill wedding. My girl had aids and can't get a job. It's amazing how some people have all the money in the world and don't feel shame in spending all that money, while others struggle. I couldn't live like that. For many of today's poor it's due to the economy & job loss, which leads to loss of income, savings, & insurance, & stock market fluctuations. Others in this class are elderly on fixed incomes, many of which have immediate family that are too busy spending to help them make ends meet. Kim Kardashian gives away 10% of her earnings every year to different charities including the Dream Foundation which allows children with terminal illnesses to have experiences they otherwise would/could not.... For those saying that 10% is not enough or is nothing compared to her net worth, think about how 10% of your salary would affect you..... Lolz, I visited my $900 wedding venue today (Idaho Botanical Gardens) and locked in a $380 cake (Portal Companion Cube from one of the best bakers in Idaho) this morning. Oh, and I'm having two completely original wedding gowns featuring the same Swarovski crystals and real pearls as my tiara, but also with French lace (or English, haven't quite chosen) sleeves on the ceremony dress. Those will probably squeak in just under $200 grand total considering I'm my own designer and seamstress. We're doing our best to keep the whole thing under 3k and somehow I remain quite sure that our wedding will be vastly less tacky and much more meaningful than Kim's show of gratuitous wealth. Oh and our getwawy car is a museum quality white '65 Corvette Stingray. Used for free. Top that.

I find it humorous that in many media stories about her wedding they compare it to the Royal Wedding, etc. It seems Kim missed the part where Will & Kate, instead of accepting wedding gifts that they didn't need, asked their guests to donate to their favorite charities instead. Had she done this, maybe the backlash wouldn't be so harsh. I think she's quite lucky to be rich, and wish her the best, but sadly many real people work very hard, and would never be so fortunate to see even a percentage of that money. I think however when you have to work hard to make money, you would probably never spend it so easily. Many of the wealthiest people like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates donate much of their money for worthy causes.

If I had an extra 10 mil for my wedding, I wouldn't know where to spend it. I'm completely happy with my under-a-grand venue, $380 cake, and especially the two dresses I'm designing and sewing by hand myself. And then there's the museum grade classic Corvette getaway car that will surely out-flash Kim's vehicle, which happens to be free. Best of all though is marrying the man I adore and knowing he loves me just as much.

I think these count for some of the most generous people ever. They are happy because they are getting married. Instead of keeping all of their $65m and have a small wedding, they decided to share with those they could. They gave away $10m which went to the families, friends and communities of those people who were providing services at the wedding. They should be congratulated. That's being magnanimous of them to give away $10m as they celebrated their love. I hope many will learn and follow suit.
