Four 'Glee Project' finalists land 'Glee' cameosNot one, not two, but all four of the finalists from "The Glee Project" have been offered the chance to appear on Fox's series "Glee," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen both took the top prize of landing a seven-episode arc on the show, but fellow finalists Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell say their two episodes a piece isn't anything to sneeze at. "For the first time in my life I couldn’t say anything; I was speechless," Newell told THR of learning about the opportunity to guest star. "It’s a moment in my life that I’ll probably never forget because it was the only moment in my life that I was quiet for."
It's unknown what characters the four would play, but "Glee" co-creators Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy are already musing. McGinty would likely enter the series as a freshman, Brennan said, and perhaps Newell would have plenty of space to show off his vocals; Murphy has called him "the love child of Kurt and Mercedes." As for Pearce, it's still up in the air, although the singer/actress wouldn't mind taking on Lea Michele's Rachel Berry as a rival...or perhaps playing her younger sis. "A kid sister to Rachel would be hilarious," Pearce told THR. "It would be a dream. Lea has one of the most valued voices in the entertainment industry today....Sometimes the Rachel character isn’t one you always love but you always love to watch her sing... My own personal story is very much like hers, which is why I think it would be funny for me to play a Rachel character because I sort of am one already....Really anything that Ryan pulls out of his bag of magic I would be fine playing." |

Damian was my favorite. I'd like to punch Alex in the face. His personality, tight jeans, weird mouth, and girly voice gets on my nerves. I dont have a problem with gay, but he is gayer than gay and needs to go away. (shudder)

i'm thrilled that Damien won. not so much Samuel as he just seems rather one dimensional. i wish Cameron had been the other winner as he's got a lot more talent and charisma than Samuel. i was already a fan of Damien's even before TGP as he's been singing and performing with Irish singing group Celtic Thunder since 2007 when he was just 14 years old. he's a whole lot better singer and performer than how he was portrayed on TGP and i think the TGP people involved may have knocked him down a bit and given him a harder time than the other contestants because of his already being a professional and his already having the success that came with him being with Celtic Thunder. i've seem him on tour with Celtic Thunder for the last 4 years and have tickets for the show in Seattle in late October and was looking forward to see him live again but unfortunately due to the Glee contract, he can't do both Glee and perform with Celtic Thunder at the same time. although i'm thrilled he's got a 7 arc part on Glee, i'm also sad that he won't be with Celtic Thunder for this Fall's tour as Damien has always been my favorite of the Celtic Thunder guys. Hopefully Damien will return to Celtic Thunder at some point as it would be great to see him back and he's so much fun to watch as it's so obvious that he loves performing and that he's extremely talented. I'm not surprised that Ryan didn't choose Alex and Lindsey as performers like them are essentially a dime a dozen and that's not what Ryan wanted. I'm really interested in watching Hannah's career as well as she's really talented. Too bad Ryan didn't keep her to be in the final 4.
Loved watching The Glee Project – I was thrilled that Damian was one of the winners – can't wait to see the story line that Ryan Murphy introduces for all of them.
Damian deserved to win. I hated Samuel, Alex (because of his personality), and Lindsay (all she could sing was Broadway).
I'm disgusted Lindsay is just a spoiled cow. quit with the anti mgay njokes, biggots. I will never watch any episode with lindsay
Maybe one of them can be a girlfriend for that wheelchair kid, Timmy.
