Dr. Phil to interview George and Cindy AnthonyCindy and George Anthony are ready to speak out about daughter Casey’s trial and the death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they’ve chosen “Dr. Phil” as their outlet, CNN has confirmed. Since their daughter Casey Anthony was acquitted, media outlets have been making interview offers, but the Anthonys felt Dr. Phil was their best option. “We knew that we’d want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil," Cindy Anthony explained. "We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years.”
Host Phil McGraw says he asked “some very tough questions” of the couple to determine if the criticism they’ve endured is warranted. “Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family,” he says. In a press release, Paramount television points out that Cindy and George Anthony will receive no compensation for the TV interview, but a donation is being made to their charitable organization. “Caylee’s Fund” educates the public about and advocates for grandparents’ rights, as well as missing and abused children. The exclusive interview will air as the show’s 10th season premiere on September 12.

"cruel people", absolutely, some need anger management therapy. So what that they got some money from the fund to survive, Caylee would be only happy for that. Have you ever been in a situation where you've lost a child and you can't function normally as you did before, couldn't work, couldn't do anything productive at least for a while. The only person responsible for little Caylee's death is her mother and yes I will boycott any show that interviews her.
How do you know that their intention was not to just tell their side of the story but to make money, do you read their minds? are you God? Yes, Cindy is stupid and makes nonsense excuses for her heartless daughter, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been grieving for Caylee and that all she cares about is Casey. I don't justify her making excuses for Casey, if I were her I would put a cross on Casey and forget about her, I am a mother and yes I could do it. I am sure George would do it but he would be literally afraid of Cindy. Cindy is a control freak who doesn't want to admit the reality because for her that would be giving up.
As far as the money for the Caylee Foundation, I would rather find out for sure before just assuming that they will be using it for their own profit! Wow! Their are so many cruel people who love to post their opinion. Wait for the 2nd interview! I know Dr. Phil will get to the truth. He has helped our society and countless people, and, if he would have been on TV when I was in an abusive marriage, my children and I would not have suffered like we did. Dr. Phil has done more to help the world become aware of all the horrible behaviors out there then anyone else. I feel that this interview will help get to the truth and it has nothing to do with TV ratings! I like everyone else think that Casey should be in jail for life. Hopefully the truth will come out. My prayers are with Dr. Phil
I read they are not getting paid. And I have only seen little snipets of the interview. But I give Dr. Phil credit for one thing. He did ask them some really tough questions. He did not mince words at all. Brain tumor, sezisures? He knows those are just excuses for Casey being made and said so. But if he thought he was actually going to get them to tell the truth and/or face it he is in la la land. And I think he found that out.

Half a dozen organizations or individuals have filed suits against Casey, and a lot more will, if as is widely speculated, she sells her story for a lot of money. My bet is that out of spite, she will do it for free.
Casey is responsible for this !!!!! not her parents, I feel for them, The show said that they are not getting paid and I believe that. And why do people care if they get some money. They lost more than most of us ever will. I hope that the Dr Phil Show sets a record for that show. And my prayers go out to the Anthony's. I love them, stay strong...

The Anthonys were willing to lie to investigators and under oath in court in order to influence a jury and subvert justice for their granddaughter, so they wouldn't think twice about lying to Dr. Phil.
Does anyone really think Cindy Anthony is suddenly going to become honest and sincere? There is an agenda behind everything she says and does. Keep that in mind and question *why* she says whatever she may in the interview – consider the agenda, because I guarantee you there will be one.
That said, I've no doubt they loved Caylee dearly and am truly sorry for their loss. However, enabling and abetting their daughter's criminal acts, making excuses for her, lying to police, the court and jurors all to ensure she once again escapes consequence - and all at the expense of their granddaughter's right to justice - is disgusting and deplorable.
I REFUSE to watch ANYTHING concerning the anthonys, I will not even go so far as to capitalize their names. Don't be fooled by the term "non'profit" status. I worked for a non-profit and believe me the people running it made good salaries. So, George and Cindy Anthony will be able to draw a salary and still profit from Caylee's death just as Dr. Phil and his network will! It's sickening to hear the newscasters saying over and over that Dr. Phil didn't pay them that he just donated to their non-profit. This is just like when the networks say they didn't pay for an interview – then we found out they paid a ton of money for pictures to the person. It would be different if Dr Phil made a donation to an organization that helps children in Caylee's name. What a scam! Dr. Phil saying he did not pay them and just donated to their non-profit is as annoying as when survey takers call you at home and say they are not telemarketers! This attempt of their trying to cover up the truth is pathetic and the bottom line is that George, Cindy, Dr. Phil and the network are all profiting and making money from Caylee's death. Hasn't Caylee given enough to all of them already? Boycott them all!

I am disgusted that he has gone this low as to put them on TV again. Didn't he interview them already...did they tell the truth then?? Did they tell the truth when they were on the stand?? Disgusting!! I encourage everyone to boycott his show, CBS, Oprah, his sponsors and anyone else. Maybe even the DR.'s since that is his son's show!! Totally disgusted. I firmly believe we all have to boycott anything that has to do with the Anthony's. Cindy lied under oath. I dont care if it was to save her daughter from the death penalty. Who tried saving Caylee from the death penalty? Noone. I am a parent. If either of my two daughters did what Casey did, I would be on that stand telling the TRUTH about everything. There was and continues to not be any justice for that poor child that died at the hands of her mother. Now the Anthony's dont work anymore, live off these bogus foundations, swim with dolphins, take vacations and lie on the stand. Why reward them? Ever since Cindy gave the investigators the dogs brush when they wanted hair samples from Casey I have had NO respect for her. Dr. Phil is there nothing you wont do for a rating? I believe we ALL need to BOYCOTT Dr. Phils show and any other show that continues to "celebritize" this family. Make them go back to work, pay taxes and stop cashing in on what their sorry excuse for a daugher did to their grand daughter...... Enough already.

Maybe George and Cindy feel that if they give this interview people will then leave them alone. They can then end this horrible chapter of their lives. For the most part they were pretty honest – they testified for the defense. Why do you think Casey seems to be not speaking to them any longer? They did a small part to try to save the daughter they will always love – because that's what parents do, love their children unconditionally – but I don't think they will ever forgive her. No one can imagine the suffering they've been through.
Dr. Phil does not hold a license to practice psychology so why do ppl listen to anything he has to say anyway.He has admitted that . He is a money and fame junkie, remember the whole Brittany Spears thing?

sorry guys, it was proven that cindy lied on the stand to help get casey off. she said she was home making the searches for neck breaking, making chloroform, shovel etc when records (sent emails, password protected data entry etc) PROVE that she was at work. yeah she really cared about that angel caylee – she helped her murderer get off scott free. have any of you are falling for their grieving grandparents act really looked into this whole case? they would not work with law enforcement, they stole stuffed animals & things people put at the memorial for caylee, lied on the stand, begged for money only to take it themselves and pretty much protected the person who murdered their granddaughter. yeah..........they're model grandparents. puhleeez

First I would like to let Cindy & George know that my heart goes out to them both. And regardless of what their daughter is like I don't believe that they are at fault in any way for her actions. But I would like you to ask the Anthony's if before or after Caylee died, they or anyone ever wondered about if Casey had anything to do with all the pets they had that died? Or when the one was tired all the time... If maybe Casey was experimenting on it before trying it on Caylee?
Maybe if he hooked them up to a lie detector machine.....then I would be afraid it would overload from all the lies!!!
This condescending, so-called psychologist with a watermelon head always interviews simple, naive people. That's why he is always in control of discussion, and he makes those poor people cry like babies by manipulating their emotions. His advice is always very simplistic, that any layman with common sense would come up with a similar advice. And his annual salary for doing this paternalistic show is close to $90 million. I think he will have a difficult time handling George and Cindy, and most likely he will only be asking them questions on how they are coping after that ordeal and the lengthy trial, rather than offering them advice.
I want to know if George and Cindy know that their daughter Casey Anthony murdered their grand child? Will they ever forgive Casey Anthony ? Does George forgive Casey for throwing him under the bus? Does Lee Anthony have contact with Casey Anthony? Cindy Anthony believe the Psychic after finding out Caylee was where she said she was found? Does Cindy and George feel Lee was involved or anyone else involved with Caylee's murder before or after the fact?

I understand casy anthony is planning on writing a book. She is planing to tell the truth about her life. I hope to get a copy of that book. What in the world do the Anthony's have to offer anyone? All they have done is try and make money off the murder of their granddaughter. They never looked for her unless they thought she was in front of a camera! They need to go away and work like everyone else, instead of expecting a hand out!!
Their attorney has stated several times that Cindy & George will be drawing a salary from their new foundation. Their old foundation for Caylee is based in their home and it was reported that last year they spent 80% of the donation on Administrative Expenses, which includes, rent/mortgage, utilities and salaries. They are just doing this for the money. Cindy lied on the witness stand and George probably did too. I have no interest in hearing anything from anyone in this family as it will just be more lies. I am boycotting Dr. Phil and his sponsors.
Does anyone know who and why anyone would donate to either of their funds? Especially knowing that they are in control of the funds and do not have to answer to anyone. Usually when funds are set up it is through banks or attorneys so why would you contribute to this scam? They are poor excuses for grandparents and as several of you have stated they are only out for fame and keeping in the news so people will contine to contribute to their "funds". And one more thing has anyone heard of money being paid to help any missing child?
Why did George Anthony plan to commit suicide after Caylee died? I never heard of a grandfather who committed suicide after his grandchild died? Have you? I googled all over the Internet, and there is not one single case at all, and I used almost all possible search methods. Dr. Phil never heard of such a case either.

By lying for her Cindy enabled Casey. By lying for her it like there is nothing Casey does that is bad enough to put a end to this family's horrible lying habits. And I am sick of this family. I know Cindy and George have been through a lot. But they should of faced Casey's problems when she was a child. I know that we are all angry and that we have assigned some blame to George and Cindy for some of their actions after the fact. But to see them as criminals insteady of victims is sadly misplaced anger. Let us not forget that Caysey is the one who got this whole circus started. Beyond that, how do we know how we would act/react in their situation? I am upset at some of their actions as well but the hatred that is being spewed here makes me wonder; If George and Cindy had taken the law into their own hands and murdered Casey, would even that satisfy your hunger?
I think people are still upset because this person got away with murdering a child. A child. What OJ did to Nicole was horrible but when the victim is a child and the person gets away with it it is human nature to be angry. 2. Because Cindy got up on that stand and so obviously lied for a compulsive liar and likely a murderer of a child and 3. Because if they are profiting off of this poor child's death that just adds insult to injury and disrespects her memory. I do not agree with threats and such. This is all so sad. This beautiful little girl died because her mom decided she was in the way and was jealous of her. The jury let her go and she got away with murder. Her parents know this, but can't do a thing about it. They want to keep talking about it because they don't know anything else to do. They can't bring their granddaughter back and have now lost their daughter. Caylee never got to enjoy life; but her mom will. Life is so unfair. I will NOT watch Dr. Phil because there is no point. There is nothing they can say that will make things better.

If you don't have children, you don't understand. You can teach your child about decentcy and morals. Once the child reaches a certain age, you lose control over their decision making. If you have never been through such trauma in your life, you have no idea how devastating it becomes.
In this case, we know the child did not kill herself. The so-called mother was the last person that was with her child, that's where the guilt begins and ends!
I agree, As a mother of 3 completely different grown kids, I think if I was afraid my only daughter was going to die for something I didn't believe she meant to do... Dr. Phil made a wise choice to interview George and Cindy Anthony. They made a wise choice to appear on his program. They have a story to tell-a sad, painful, tragic one. But it's one many of us want to hear. And we want to hear it directly from them.
Mary Anne Landers if you think you will be hearing the truth you will be very disappointed. Google their depositions and interviews. You will see the story the will have to stick to or risk perjury charges. They impeded law enforcement and lied under oath. Why would anyone think they would go on a nationally televised show and tell the "true story" which #1 will make them look bad and #2create legal troubles for them. They are are con artists.

I won't watch the interview. Frankly, we will never know the truth as to what happened to Caylee. She certainly did not drown. Casey will carry her secret of how she killed her baby to her grave. Why watch another interview with these people? Personally, I am tired of the whole family. I am not convinced they are receiving no money for this. Not convinced at all.
The crazy train does not need any more air or face time, nor do they deserve any money for it. Leave us alone already.

What I don't get is everybodies fascination with this case, what happen to Caylee was horrible but theres millions and millions just as messed up or worse. We need to start getting outraged by our law enforcement, children services, and our jurisdiction system than wasting our energy in worry about done grandparents maybe or maybe not making a few bucks from talking about loosing their grandchild. In some of the cases I've read law enforcement and children services were called constantly and did nothing, theres were anger needs to be, why are they not protecting our children? If you want to boycott, boycott them for not projecting our children.

Caylee was a missing child to her grandparents. They fought to find her. The toughest thing they had to fight was the reality of what their senses had to be telling them.. How can you think that your own child has harmed such a precious gift. I believe that Casey murdered Caylee. I believe momsters intent was to take the baby from Cindy permanetly. How can you be the parents of the person who murdered your grandchild? How do you come to terms with that? Cindy tried to go and see her child after the murder trial and was turned away by her daughter. Why would Casey have done that if the verdict had been true? Cindy will never rest until she has answers and Casey knows that ... Casey can not tell them the baby was found by George because they all know that is a lie. I really pray that the interview with Dr. Phil will help the healing for these two mourning grandparents. Whatever faults you may think these two people have .... mistreating Caylee was not one of them.

If it were true that George molested Casey, why wouldn't Casey's lawyers allow the police to open an investigation and bring possible charges against George? They refused to allow them to question Casey about it. If Casey's drowning story was true, why didn't she tell it when given the opportunity? If she had, the body could have been recovered before it decomposed and an examination might have proved her story. But she kept quiet, because none of it is true.

I understand that everyone is upset about the Anthony's being interviewed on Dr. Phil. Remember this, I'm sure that they didn't want their grandaughter murdered. They also are estranged from their daughter Casey, what I believe they are trying to do is to get their side of the story heard after the fact. It's a normal reaction to think that your child couldn't be an accused murderer and defend them, however if god forbid Casey was my child....I'd be the first one to pull the switch. I would have to say that if it was Casey he was interviewing, I would boycott Dr. Phil without a doubt. We as americans have to realize that there is freedom of speech, they do have their right to speak.....we also as americans have the right not to listen. Yes, this will make a dramatic change in Dr. Phil's ratings, positive or negative but this is his business, he has the right to book whoever he wants to be on his show. I'm on the fence on this one, I am a Caylee supporter, I will do what is in my heart to keep her memory alive.
I really can not understand the outrage at Casey's parents. They DID NOT kill Caley....Casey did. Why shouldnt they be allowed to go on Dr. Phil? Seems like everyone has bought into Caseys lies about her family. I think these folks got caught up in something that no one would be prepared for. How can we judge how they responded to it? Not only did they have to deal with a lying daughter, but they had to contend with a vicious public, people camping out on their lawn, the discovery of their granddaugher's body, and the trial.
If Cindy Anthony had told the truth on the stand, then her grandaughter's killer would have gotten the right sentence. This woman lied, made a mockery of the legal system, just to protect her lying, scheming, stealing, KILLING daughter. Dr. Phil has to make more money to buy his wife some more plastic surgery, so I guess he's going to interview the low life no matter what.
I doubt that her testimony was the deciding factor. The prosecution introduced evidence that she lied so the jury knows that she lied. It seems to me like a picture of Casey killing Caylee is the ONLY thing that would have pursuaded the band of dummies (oh I mean the jury) to convict Casey.

The American media has made this story a high profile case because the mother of the child is young and pretty, the child is a very beautiful girl, and both the mother and the child are white. Many people, especially women, hate this woman and wish her death because "she killed a precious, beautiful angel." All small children are precious and beautiful. Why not wish death to governments that kill hundreds, if not thousands, of small beautiful children each year in Afghanistan, Libya, and (before that) in Iraq? There is no child who is more precious than another, whether the child is white, brown, black or yellow, or whether the child is American, Afghan, Libyan, or Iraqi.

Is it me or is this interview a farce? What good is an interview when both grandparents are proven known liars? Is Dr. Phill that naive that they would tell him the truth or that he thinks he can "get the truth" from them? I'm not going to read this article. Just the headline makes me nauseous. And it won't be any big sacrifice for me to miss Dr. Phil's show since I don't watch him anyway. I expect he'll buy them a new car and send them to a high class facility so they can heal themselves.

This "Charity" is just how the Scamthony's launder their money. Cindy destroyed evidence, lied and obstructed justice, which allowed her murdering daughter to get off. I agree with Lori even if you watch the interview it will filled with a bunch of "I don't knows" from the Anthonys no real information. It will end with more questions than answers. But at least it will probably provide Nancy Grace with a month worth of shows.

For those of us that followed this story and travesty of a trial we are well aware of the Anthony family and have heard their lies. It is time to stop allowing them a voice and the opportunity to make more money from the murder of a helpless Caylee.
I will boycott Dr. Phil and will contact the network and sponsors to express my opinion. I urge other to do the same.

There are no words to describe when you loose a loved one, All we can really do is keep her in our hearts. I do not agree with talking on the Dr. Phil show will be essential. The money goes to THEIR "Foundation" The money does go directly TO them. Look up who the board members are. All the family, including Lee, Mallory and her mother. Their other foundation collected 2.5 MILLION. The amount paid out for Admininstrative expenses?? 2,4 MILLION. Only 600 went to the actual program. This is disgraceful. The Anthony's will NOT tell the truth, so why bother?

The Anthony's are getting paid. They are going to be able to deduct this from their taxes as charitable expenses. So take whatever CNN is going to give them and divide it by about 1/3rd and that is what goes in their pocket.

We all realize that Caylee would have been better off with her grandparents and without her mom carrying responsibility for her. However, strengthening the "grandparents' rights" laws will give inappropriately controlling and dishonest grandparents more power to take a child who is well cared for, simply to meet their own sick needs. Weakening parental rights is not necessary to protect children. We already have laws to allow a child who is abused or neglected to be removed from his or her parents. Don't create laws that make it easier for messed up grandparents to usurp the protective and appropriate rights of parents. It's a huge mistake to assume that all grandparents are more mature and better parents than the parents themselves. Some are good actors and chronic abusers.
Unfortunately this is true. If there's money to be made the hands of justice get itchy. Look at the unfair child support system. It's crooked and corrupt and definitely NOT in the best interest of the children. It's all a 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' kind of thing.

Sure, it isn't unusual to have paid employees when your organization gets HUGE, and can afford a full time staff (like, when it is pulling in millions in donations a year, like the Humane Society). We raise about $80,000 a year, and I wouldn't DREAM of paying myself a penny– all of the money goes to our animals. As far as I can tell, this "fund" is set up and run by two people– the Anthonys. Is it even a legitimate 501(c)(3) non-profit? I doubt it. Why are they paying themselves 65%. OUTRAGEOUS. This "fund" is a paycheck for themselves– a blind bat could see it.

Although the article says they are not getting paid, networks say that all the time and in a sense it is true. Where they do get paid is for licensing of video, pictures, etc. I find it ironic that the Anthony's have started an organization for helping abused children when apparently Casey was the model mother according to her brothers idiot fiance. Why not start an organization for educating the public on accidental drowning? These people will never tell the truth, they are as sick as Casey.

Apparently Dr Phil's staff approached the parents to get their side of the story outside of the courtroom without the lawyers. I would recommend the interview done backstage, not in front of the audience.
FACT – George and Cindy are executive officers of Caylee's fund and draw approximately 64% in salary as an "administrative fee". If anyone thinks these 2 baffoons are NOT being paid are entirely naive. When the Amferney's have to release the P&L for Caylee's Fund you will see where Dr. Phil's money has been expensed. Just like their previous fund for Caylee – which also expensed around 65% to George and Cindy for their "hard work" to help missing children. Interesting enough, they didn't help a single missing child. People need to wake up and get a clue.
Caylees fund is to help other grandparents to get custody of their grandkids from horrible moms so that this tragedy may not happen again.....how is that self serving...oh yeah I know, if maybe grandparents had more rights, then George and Cindy could have gotten custody of Caylee and we would never had had this happen in the first place. You people really need to READ the full article before you go in to your rants, it is really quite annoying.
Maybe George and Cindy feel that if they do this interview people will leave them alone and they can then try to move on. The last step in this horrible chapter of their lives.

At some point our children are responsible for themselves....I am fairly confident by your blistering comments, you have no children. Dr. Phil appeals to the general stupdity of most trailer trash dwellers so this is the perfect audience for the Anthony's. I won't watch & don't care how many appearances these people make. They will just be trying to explain away what their daughter did. How about we (tv viewers) don't give them the ratings they crave more then drugs. Do what I do, read a good book.

They absolutely siphon funds from their "Caylee Anthony Foundation" look at the filings. The foundation bought a nice boat (to look for Caylee) which it has kept and most of the income goes to administrative costs e.i. George and Cindy. It is a scam.

In an attempt to ensure no money gets into the hands of any person remotely related to this case, a boycott committment in paramount. I will no longer watch Dr. Phil. He is benefiting (ratings, etc) from this interview. Besides, does he actually think he will get a straight answer from "spindy"?
i love how people have attacked george and cindy - you know nothing about their lives, nothing about what they have experienced, and will probably never experience the pain they have in losing their beloved granddaughter and the daughter they thought they knew.
their situation is unfathomable for most of us. the judgments placed on the parents and the brother, lee, are really sad. let them be. let them find peace. they've done nothing wrong.
be upset at the one that threw them under the rug; the one that caused them the suffering; but for the love of whatever you do or don't believe in, give them the benefit of the doubt and realize their situation is horrendously painful and beyond the scope of what any of us will ever endure. they are parents. they tried to do what was right. they are grandparents and they were great ones at that. they are human...and still love their daughter...because she is still their daughter, at the end of the day.

It says they are not getting paid. If you believe that for one second you are very gullible indeed. The Anthonys scammed their last foundation using 90% of its donations for themselves. They also were offered $250,000 to tell their story. They instead laughed and said that was not enough! Or they could have told their story for FREE UNDER OATH INSTEAD OF LYING!
I have to agree with scruffy – for the most part G & C were pretty honest – they testified for the defense. They tried in a small way to help their daughter because they couldn't bear to see their child get the death penalty – I think most parents would feel the same and try in a small way to help their child. They've lost their granddaughter and their daughter who is the real one responsible for all this.
He probably does not think it will do any good. She could not tell the truth if her life depended on it.
Well,it shouldn't be too hard to find her now that she is serving court ordered probation. I don't think she would go up against Dr. Phil. He would nail her to the wall.
It was only a matter of time before someone profited on the death of a little girl. I hope some of their sponsors out there have the dignity to pull their brands and voice their discontent to this sickening act. For the benefit of charity, right, like there is anyone out there that actually believes it's all for a good cause. Seriously? I know how I'll always remember Dr. Phil now and no noone I know will be tuning in. What is said doesn't even matter, just the parties involved in this atrocity do.
