Rebecca Black forced to leave schoolViral video star Rebecca Black, known for her amateur music video “Friday,” was forced to drop out of school due to constant harassment, she told ABC News' Nightline. The 14-year-old is being home-schooled by her mother, a former teacher. “Friday,” a video Black’s parents paid $4,000 to produce, went viral after it was posted on YouTube this spring. "After seeing it go from 4,000 views to 70,000 views in one night, and then waking up and it was at 200,000 views, that was when I realized this is going to be big," Black said of her unintentionally funny video.

Mattel releases Farrah Fawcett BarbieFarrah Fawcett has been immortalized in plastic with her very own Barbie. The new Black Label Collection doll depicts the late actress posing in her famous red swimsuit in front of a striped blanket, recreating the iconic '70s poster. The uniquely sculpted Barbie uncannily mimics Farrah’s mega-watt smile, and features perfectly feathered hair and even a tiny gold necklace. Madonna's daughter launches makeup lineShe’s growing up so fast! Madonna’s 14-year-old daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon already has a clothing line, and now she’s got her own makeup range. The teen launched her new Material Girl Beauty line in New York City on Tuesday. “It was so much fun getting to pick all of my favorite scents for the Material Girl body products and lip glosses,” Leon says in a press release. “The body products have fun names like Wicked Watermelon, Flirty Fruit, Midnight Magnolia and Sinful Sugar. I chose scents that I loved.” The original Material Girl, Madonna, helped pick products, but Lola also looks to other celebrities for cosmetic inspiration.

‘The Help’ star Viola Davis adopting a babyGood things are happening for “The Help” star Viola Davis. Her new movie is getting positive reviews, and the actress has revealed that she's expanding her family. The Academy Award-nominee tells E! News that she and her husband are in the process of adopting a baby. “Yes, we’re about to adopt a baby,” Davis, 45, confirmed at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film on Tuesday. She and actor hubby Julius Tennon also shared that they are adopting domestically. Married since 2003, this will be the couple’s first child. Tennon has two children from previous relationships.

The women battle it out to win 'SYTYCD'As the ever-blunt Nigel Lythgoe pointed out on Wednesday night's performance finale of "So You Think You Can Dance," a woman is almost certain to win this year. Melanie is the odds-on favorite, but I had a feeling that Sasha might be surging ahead when she nailed one of the most amazing Sonya Tayeh routines we've seen on the show, with all-star (and Lady Gaga backup dancer) Mark. This followed an underwhelming disco number that, for the first time, showed Melanie and Marko to be completely out of their element. This wasn't exactly the reunion we had hoped for (but I'm sure we will get that on Thursday night's season finale).

'Potter' Director: We need more books!Director and producer Chris Columbus, who worked on the first three “Harry Potter” films, isn’t quite ready to part with the series. “It's hard to imagine it ending,” he told CNN at “The Help” premiere on Tuesday. (Columbus produced the Emma Stone-starring film, which opened in theaters Wednesday.) “When I saw the final coda in the last film,” he said, referring to “Deathly Hallows'” final scene, “seeing Harry at like, age 34, it was a little shocking because I said to myself … ‘What happened between the ages of 19 and 30?’” |
