It's official: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" has brought in $1 billion globally.
According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the eighth and final installment in the "Potter" franchise crossed the $1 billion mark on Sunday, accounting for both domestic and foreign markets. "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," meanwhile, still hasn't been able to accumulate $1 billion global bragging rights although it opened two weeks ahead of "Potter."
"Deathly Hallows: Part 2's" climb to the $1 billion mark took just 19 days, and the movie tied with "Avatar" for the fastest rise to that box office amount. With the film's total so far being $1.008 billion, "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" is now ranked eighth on the site's all-time highest global box office chart, surpassing "The Dark Knight."
