Justin Bieber tweets to help Houston family

Tweens will recognize the heart-hand sign popularized by stars like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber to show love to fans. But today, Biebs is urging folks to “show your hearts” for a special cause.

Bieber, among other stars, are tweeting with the hashtag #showyourhearts to help raise funds and awareness for the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust

On July 3, the Berry family of Houston, Texas, was struck by another vehicle while traveling in their mini van. Both parents were killed in the accident. Their three children, Peter, 9, Aaron, 8, and Willa, 6, survived - but the boys were left paralyzed below the waist. The children are currently being treated for their injuries in a Houston hospital.

Moved by the family’s tragedy, Bieber has joined forces with the Kardashians, Britney Spears and other celebs to create the Show Your Hearts Fundraising Campaign.

Bieber is encouraging fans to help by changing Facebook and Twitter pictures to Show Your Heart art, posting pics of the heart sign on Facebook with the message “show your heart” and donating to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust.

"[On July 27] we all change our profile pics on twitter and facebook and make a donation to #SHOWYOURHEARTS," Bieber tweeted. "Spread the word. #makeachange."

For more information on the cause and a supportive avatar, visit ShowYourHearts.org.

Heartbreaking story. I hope these kids get all the help they need. It's great that celebrities are getting people to donate to such as great cause, but these celebrities also have more than enough money to support these kids for the rest of their lives. They should just donate more! Lots of regular people don't even have jobs right now yet alone money to be donating. Celebrities stop spending your money on stupid stuff and do a little more for others!

Such a sad and tragic situation. I commend JB and the other stars (Lady Gaga, Ellen Degeneres, Britanny Spears...the list goes on and on) that have brought attention to this situation. Honestly, I would have not known about it otherwise. The more people that know about it the more financial help that can be tallied, even if at $10 per supporter. I do believe that the stars also donate $ -even if is also a small amount, who cares -them bringing it to light brings us together to help this famliy!

    I wish these children peace!

Oh wow...he tweeted...that's such an amazing gift of kindness (sarcasm intended). I hope he actually donated to these kids who have suffered terribly instead of just expecting his fan base to do so. I really hope he's not using this for some cheap publicity and he's actually DONE something for the cause that he's tweeting about.

Dawn, I often ask myself the same question when these so called famous people ask for america's help. Do they donate money? I would hope they would atleast come out of pocket but sadly I do not believe that is the case. I think they lend their name to the cause hoping that their fans will jump on the bandwagon and donate because Justin or whoever said so. In this day and age that's the way to go to get people to donate to your cause. Sad to say but people who are in society's spotlight have a big influence on people today. They can bring in thousands of dollars by the use of their name. Sad but true.

People dissing Justin. Really?! Get a friggin life. He is using his status to help these poor children that not only have to live without thier parents but have to endure their own disabilities. I feel so sorry for these children and even though I am not a fan of his I applaud him. He has a big heart.

Exactly! It DOESN"T help the family-–it helps Bustin's publicity and image. If he was a real boytwink he'd write a big fat check and stfu with his 'important tweets.

A family is forever changed; the parents are dead, the boys are paralyzed and some troll is on here making idiotic remarks to cause problems. You have been reported and all your remarks WILL be removed.

Wow.....we have someone here doing alot of public service work with his fame, and then there's people like this spewing out terrible stuff about him. The ones saying these derogatory remarks need to grow up and get their own life.....seems to be a jealousy issue otherwise you would'nt be here. Please go away and get a life and quit stalking JB

  23. Shame on You!

Shame on YOU Candy Corn, Ala L., Eaton Butts, Frederico, Biebs Pube, and beverly and GROW UP!

Such immature comments. Honestly, children under 5 years old like yourselves should not be allowed to post comments. Why the hate? Did you even read what this story was about? Children lost their parents and were paralyzed in a horrible car wreck! Justin Bieber is using his fame to bring attention to and help these kids. You are using this forum to bring attention to your own ignorance and hate. Think about it and try to be a little human once and a while!

Wow how pathetic can the four of you be (beverly, bibs pube, frederico, eaton butts), that there is a tragedy in this poor family.. these three children are left without parents AND two of the paralyzed.. and all the four of you can think of is to make some immature OVERUSED statement..which is clearly out of jealousy for this stars fame.. get over yourself!
I wish the best for these children during this extremely difficult time.

Bustin Jieber is only doing this for the Pub. If he got off a big wad of ca$h I'd be more impressed. And do it anonymously. True acts of charity and kindness don't need a press release or a publicist help.
      And he likes the hog.

To "BustinJsux": So, if he donates 'anonymously', how exactly are YOU supposed to know about it?

to bustin, it's true some celebs do it for the PR, but sometimes they do it b/c they know other people will help simply b/c the celebrity is asking them. maybe, just maybe, that's why they do it publicly. we'll never know for sure. if the net effect is positive, then i'll take it.
