'Amazing Spider-Man' trailer hits Web

We picked Sony's panel as one of the must-see's at this year's Comic-Con precisely for the "Amazing Spider-Man" preview, among others, but what about those of us who aren't San Diego bound?

Thanks to the Interwebs, you get a peek, too.

The trailer for the Marc Webb directed feature is getting positive buzz after it started circulating on the Web yesterday. The two minute clip shows Andrew Garfield turning into the titular Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. The very end brings some action from Spidey's point of view.

The full, 3-D feature arrives in theaters July 3, 2012.

Beckham baby name boosts sales of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

Not only are we constantly talking about the, er, creative names celebrities come up with, but these monikers can apparently also help out book sales.

According to Amazon.co.uk, the website's sales of "To Kill a Mockingbird" more than doubled after David Beckham revealed that their chosen baby name of Harper for their daughter was partly inspired by the book's author, Harper Lee.

"A lot of thought goes into our children's names and Harper was a name that we've loved for a long time for a couple of reasons," Beckham says on his Facebook page, according to the Daily Mail. "One reason is Harper's an old English name which we loved and one of the other reasons was Victoria's favorite book is 'To Kill A Mockingbird.'" FULL POST

Everyone’s a Critic: Public pink slips

I wouldn’t really call myself a fan of “Glee,” but I do watch the show, and I know a lot of the Gleeks out there are still reeling from news about some of their favorite McKinley High students.

Last week, executive producer Ryan Murphy announced that three of the show’s stars won’t be back for season 4. (We’ll leave aside the presumption that there will BE a season four).

Murphy said the reason behind the decision is that it would be unrealistic for student characters to stay on a show once their senior years come and go.  (We’ll also leave aside the idea that “Glee” has EVER been too worried about realism.)

Hugh Hefner: I missed a bullet

Looks like hindsight really is 20/20.

It's been a bit of time now since perpetual playboy Hugh Hefner was jilted by his much younger fiancee, Crystal Harris, and now he says he "missed a bullet" with the scrapped nuptials.

Hef told "Entertainment Tonight" that he is "doing very, very well under the circumstances." FULL POST

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: The Jessica Simpson baby obsession

Another Jessica Simpson pregnancy rumor is circulating around the Web right now. The blonde pop star-turned-mogul was photographed in a tight beige dress in Beverly Hills, and as the pictures surfaced online, the Internet lit up with the possibility that she might be the latest celebrity with a baby bump.

Jessica’s rep quickly shot down the pregnancy rumors saying that “she is not pregnant,” but since these baby-on-board nuggets of gossip are so frequent for J-Simp we have to ask: Why are people so obsessed with Jessica having a baby?

Every time Jessica is photographed with extra weight or from a bad angle, everyone gets fired up that she might be expecting! I think everyone should leave Jess alone and wait until she announces that she’s actually pregnant before speculating.
