Emma Watson's going back to BrownNow that "Harry Potter" is wrapped, Emma Watson is setting her sights back on her studies. The 21-year-old actress - who's denied reports that she'd been bullied out of Brown - said in April that she was taking a break from school to focus on her acting career. But according to People, she told reporters recently that she's not through with higher education yet. "I'm still enrolled at Brown," Watson said. "It's just that I'll spend my third year abroad - at Oxford." Then, she went on, "I'll return to Brown to complete my last year." Yet Watson doesn't seem to be foregoing new, post-"Potter" projects. The actress has been cast in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and may even wind up in Guillermo Del Toro's "Beauty and the Beast," according to ComingSoon.net. |

AND TWENTY POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR!
Whats beauttifull about a big ays forehead?
I really don't think Emma needs "a career to lean on when she get's old". She's a multimillionaire, for gosh sakes! I think she's intelligent and wants to be well-rounded – to be all she can be! Clas-say! I hope this very sharp start stays bright and mentally healthy. It's not easy to stay sane in that business.
♥ seeing a "Hollywood" girl with a good head on her shoulders, go get that education Emma.

plenty of americans take up students spots in colleges overseas as well...
Crack is whack. Whitnuh ain evuh gun b fat.
Something about her is creepy. Maybe it's that boy haircut all pasted to her head.
Wait... she's working summers at UPS?
Smart and beautiful
THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER MOVIE!?
It's a movie based on the book of the same name.
I thought they meant her hair color. Yeah, being in a bunch of nerdy movies, (although I acknowledge their massive siccess), will keep the bullies away.
Perfect. Because I'm brown from the waist down and clean so she won't catch any hogworts. Wink wink
Dude, you do stand up? I'd love to catch your act. Oh wait, you're not funny. Idiot.
What is it with this girl that she never smiles? She's got that same sulllen "This whole thing is so beneath me." look as the chick from the Twilight movies. PS Just come out and get it over with.
Obviously you've never seen an interview with her.
She has a business mind.Hope she pursues that.Goodluck E.W.
Sorry, maybe I'm dense. What is a brit doing, taking the place of an AMERICAN at an AMERICAN college, esp. in times of
such economic distress? What is American citizenship good for, if we allow foreigners to take the spots our students should be taking at our universities? Nothing against Watson personally, but she's taking the place of some poor American student who now has to go somewhere else. How much of this is going on?
a lot of this is going on. international fees are usually more expensive. why wouldnt schools want to make more money? welcome to reality
"Sorry, maybe I'm dense."
That seems to be the case.
well, coulld be Emma earned a spot based on grades and willingness to WORK for her education. Conversely, could be there arent that many qualified homegrown students with either the grades or the willgness to work hrd to get them. hhmmm?
Brown is a PRIVATE university with an impressive price tag for tuition. Any "poor American" who can afford Brown (if they're accepted!) can afford Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Notre Dame, and ANY state university. Kudos to Emma Watson for pursuing an education.
"refifi", Emma and other foriegn nationals are not taking any spot in place of an American. All considerations are inclusive meaning that there are just as many available "spots" for you or anyone if you qualify. If you get a "spot" you're not eliminating someone else so this isn't like the Olympic's whereas one gets cut because another gets a chance.
I'm sure you could get her back by taking a spot at Oxford from her.
You do realize that she's attending one if the best schools in country, right? I'm pretty sure the americans your refering to can't even get in on an academic level. For every "foriegner" in an american school, there's another at Cambridge, Oxford, or McGill. My dad (when he was still Canadian) attended Georgetown for a year. Stop hating on nonamericans! Are you a member of the know-nothing party?
@ Crow – actually it's usually much cheaper to go to school in a country in the European Union than it is here in the USA, especially at a private Ivy League school, and considering she's not considered a legal resident, it's even MORE expensive for her. However, as others have said, there are no "spots" and private like Brown. If you qualify, can afford it or receive a scholarship then you are in. If she were going to a state school that has "spots" based on the school's budget that would be a different story. Even then, many state colleges receive special funding for their international students or the student is required to pay much more than just tuition (a friend of mine from Singapore had to pay nearly $12k in fees plus full tuition and was not allowed to live on campus unless there was room available at a state college in Iowa) and they aren't considered part of the regular incoming students, thus the spaces available for students don't change just because there are international students attending.
The girl got accepted at Oxford, that't some incredible stuff right there. Best of luck to her and her future.
Wow. Brits are so quaint. American youth, whether from Compton or San Jose have one goal. Get bling because without bling you are sub-human. So Compton kids sling crack and San Jose kids get a letter from a Senator to help them get in a great school. The goal is the same; avoiding poverty. The concept of attending college to learn? That's been over in America since the Reagan years. I'm afraid Emma's American peers will find this very odd indeed. I mean she has more money than Jesus, why is she going to college???
Perhaps she wants another career to fall back on when she gets older. Perhaps it's just a goal of hers. Who knows?
@Mark, Money isn't everything and can only go so far in happiness. I think learning something outside of your paradigm is good for the head; keeps you balanced and down to earth and interacting with everyday common folk. Actor's like Sheen believe in himself too much to where he thinks he is mightier than God and that is his undoing; no one is irreplaceable and everyone is expendible even in Hollywood. Emma is doing it right but she also has a long life of hard decision making ahead of her. She seems to be on the right direction.
That hair just, just.....nawww
Wow sickos. And OscarAA...puke.
hey?!? Wanna sandwich?
Cute, Clever, and Classy... and we get stuck with Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus and the Olsen twins.... Sigh
Beauty and brains. Can't ask for much more. Do you Emma, that's what will make you happy
If Emma is going back to Brown, then I'd be just her type! I'm a light brown, like Will Smith mocha, not too dark like Don Cheadle, not too light like Colin Powel.
Post of the year! 😀
She's going back to Brown University, as in the ivy league school.
@ hehe...you're a moron. He was simply making a joke about the headline. Get over yourself, you are not cool for correcting people.
She's so stinkin' cute.
An education (as the age old farts keep saying) is something no one can take away from you.
Okay, maybe you'll pay with interest for the dam thing.
Wonder if she reads this. If so, will you go out with me, Emma?
i asked her first, on another blog
Smart move, Emma. Now just stay away from Hollywood, and you should be fine.
She isn't really hollywood. The majority of her work is in England and the surrounding areas, not hollywood. I think she is doing what she likes. She doesn't need to work for a very long time, if she decides to go that way. I don't understand why someone would call her an "ugly ho"! She is a 21 yr old young lady and is attractive. I guess there are some who don't know how to respond to someone so young making so much money. I guess it comes down to being jealous!
Spot on!
She's not simply attractive.......she's absolutely stunning!
Now this is more like it,a diamond in the rough of young Hollywood.
Natalie Portman graduated from Harvard. This proves my theory:
Jews and Brits do something right. The rest of you... it varies.
Good for her! I hope she does well and is much better educated than most people her age are.
The most balanced young actress in Hollywood. Stay grounded. Don't get jaded.

Right on!
