Beyonce's '4' enters Billboard chart at No. 1Now Beyonce has another reason to love the number four. The 29-year-old is back on top of the Billboard 200 again with her latest solo offering, "4." The album, which was leaked three weeks early and noted as thus far lacking a standout hit single, takes the No. 1 spot with 310,000 units sold, Billboard reports. But while it’s another No. 1 album, it’s also her lowest first week of sales: “I Am…Sasha Fierce” sold 482,000 when it arrived in 2008, “B’Day” moved 541,000 in 2006, and even her 2003 solo debut “Dangerously in Love” notched a touch higher with 317,000 in the first week. Nonetheless, it’s still the third highest sales week so far, trailing behind Lady Gaga’s 1.1 million bow with "Born This Way" and Adele’s 351,000 sold in "21's" first week.

Wow I cant believe all these negative comments. I personally think its hard to get up on stage and sale a song or make an album with real music and not radio music. But the funnythingis it's easy to sit behind a computer and bash a person. Where are all of your Grammys at and how many albums have u sold. I think Beyonce did this album on purpose if she wanted another radio friendly album she would have did it.
First, of all beyonce can not I repeat can not sing. singing is not screaming, and straining to try to hit high notes, but singing just comes naturally. Now, Monica, Christiana A, Jasamine Sullivan, Mary J. Blige, Mrs. Pattie labell, Mrs. Anita Baker, Mrs. Areatha Franklin, Mrs. Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Celian Deion, Keysha Cole, Pink, Mariah Carey are just to name a few are females who can without a dout females who can run a person up out the building on just vocals alone. Beyonce is just a performer who does nothing, but the same old thing, but shake her you know what the sameway just to a different tune. I was so happy when Kelly Rowland cameout with "Motavation", because that is something new, something different, something Fresh, on her own, and .that wright now is what america is looking for.That Kelly Rowland can really sing.

I purchased the album and I absolutely LOVE it!!! Don't quite understand the harsh criticism. Its a different side of Beyonce the album does not contain rump shaking music that many may be used to hearing from her. She's evolving and maturing and again the album is FAB!!!

She is still finding her true divine self as anyone else. As we grow and the good lord allows us to, using an open mind and eye to the smallest things we take for granted that are more meaningful. I assume you are a female who enjoys this music because it empowers you as a woman. I'm sure it empowers many women... but let me tell you something... it is NOT GOOD MUSIC. It's almost like saying Justin Bieber is a great artist. He has a lot of female fans that love his music and love him... but let's face it... his music is not very good. Both have talents (Beyonce's voice and Justin plays instruments) but have wasted it on selling out for the sheep such as yourself.

First I will say that I do like Beyonce. I liked her ever since DC and I knew it was only a matter of time before she went solo like JT from N'SYNC. She is a great singer and performer. However, I don't truly care for her latest CD; yes it has a few great songs with awesome beats, but to me it just sounds like being off for a year made her alittle lazy. I say this b/c a few of the songs sound like one big refrain; she throws in a couple of lines; but for the most part she's just repeating herself. All in all, Beyonce is a great entertainer but I feel she could have done just alittle better this time around.
everyone is bashing the album as awful, not up to previous stuff. this album possesses a genius clarity and creativeness not seen by her. not every song is jaw dropping awesome but there are some wonderful songs with beautiful lyrics and interesting highs and lows. the album should be number 1. being a music lover that has everything from country to little known people I can say its good. anyone insane person that thinks gaga has anything on B needs to see the video of her singing 1+1 in her dressing room before her appearance on IDol. there is no doubt that girl is touched with the hand of GOD.

Beyonce might be off her game these days (in my honest opinion), but she's still got one of the best voices in the game. Truly a wasted talent, but excellent voice almost second to none.

Jamal is right, Beyonce does have a great voice, the best that's out there amongst her peers, it's just a shame that her talent is wasted on being an image, a gimmick, and a "diva." Her voice is wasted on lackluster pop fluff. In Destiny's Child, she came off as more relatable, likeable, and down to earth, and more humble, now she's just so overhyped and conceited and doesn't really, in my honest opinion, live up to her lofty expectations that she's trying to make herself out to be. Just my opinion.
Beyonce's music is far from garbage. I guess if she would have sold her album for $1.00 the first week, like Gaga,(who thinks Beyonce is the best in the game) she would have surpassed those numbers. Nevertheless, congratulations are in order to Beyonce!
