Gallery: George Clooney's former flames

Earlier today, a rep for George Clooney confirmed that he and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis had called it quits. Look on the bright side, Elisabetta... At least you're in good company now.

Maybe someday George will care enough about someone to put their needs ahead of his own. Right now, if a girl tries to make George settle down and be a family man he just moves on to another young woman who hasn't heard her biological clock ticking yet. Maybe he should date much younger girls or much older ones.

George Clooney and any future girlfriends–card carrying members of the Users Club. Anyone who dates this guy other than to use him is naive. If he's a happy user and they are happy users then who needs to complain? Not him, not the women, not us.

I think it's really sad when a man can't/doesn't want to settle down with one woman. Intimacy is built over longevity... Have one real lover and cheat for the thrill is the answer to me..

I'm gay and married at the same time. Oh wait, no I'm not! I'm a pretty princess trapped in the body of a 40 year old man!! I like to play with dolls when others aren't looking. I read all of the posts above and still am not sure if Clooney is gay. I like riding motorcycles and jumping out of planes. I think women should be treasured...like rubies and diamonds. I think friendship is the foundation for success. I believe in Jesus... and have modeled for underwear ads. Life is complicated, but thats part of the fun. My favorite food is sushi and I dont think calling someone a twit is clever. Lard isn't something I would use to build a snowman. Um, I wanna be on your side... but just cant bring myself to do it.... therefore I will refer to you as dUm. These girls receive plenty of perks... trust me(use of the italian villa...hmm). No, I have to go...prepare for an Adventure Race. 🙂

George explained in an interview he didn't really mean the comment when he said he'd never get married again and now that's all anyone knows about him. Most women want to date him, he's hot, life goes on. Maybe he will eventually find someone and it works out for longer. He seems like a nice guy.

Clooney is not a mature person jet so it is very wisely for him not to get married. If he does it now it will not work. Men like him can start thinking about getting married after 55 or 60 years old. George knows he can get any beautiful woman now so it is unthinkable for him to stay with just one. At the present time he just one to live nice honeymoons and when he think the honeymoon is over he moves on. Don't blame the pigs blame the one who feed them. This is just a saying I am not calling him a pig. He is not. Keep enjoying your life while you can.

The Ideal Woman for George Clooney and here is the receipe:
    1) she should be close to his age
    2) kids are grown or she never had kids; doesn't wanna have kids now or in the future
    3) has as much money as George Clooney
    4) just date or live together and have no desire to marry – George Clooney clearly does not want to get marry ever!!!!! 🙂

...ok so he's actually been married, for 3 years.

Of course his first wife was a bit of a porker...anyway why must he be gay because he's good-looking, in his late 30s or early 40s, and didn't want to marry these women?

This is 2011. If he is really gay why would he hide? How *could* he hide?

    • Simone Says

late 30's or early 40's?!?!? hahahah *that* is the funniest comment on here. george has to be 55-57 if he's a day.

no, nobody has to get married. but george seems like a solid guy with solid values, so probably many of us assume that he wants to or should be married. his parents certainly set him a good example.

i also wonder if he's gay, but in this day and time there would be absolutely no reason to hide that, so i don't think that he's gay. some guys just don't want to get married (again).

to me, the ending of all these relationships within about 2-3 years encourages me to speculate that these woman are doing what SO many women are doing. "sure, guy, i get it: you don't want to get married. i don't want to get married either, because [parrot's guy's reason for not wedding]! let's just be together. " ... 2-3 years down the road, the story changes. "you know, we probably should get married, turns out we've got so much in common. let's make this official!"

sure, she *could* have refused his proposal, but i just don't see that happening. i mean, come on. how many women – ethical, upstanding and otherwise – would refuse a marriage proposal from him? not happening.

so, he's a commitment-phobe, but it's okay, because it seems to work for him. i do believe one day he'll look back and wish he could have found 'the one' to commit to, to comfort him in his old, smelly senile years. but he has the right to opt out of that.

Remember last month she said "I will be married?" Nail in the coffin. He'll be moving on to the next model now, and I mean model. Maybe if he dated a real woman and not a model of one, he wouldn't be so afraid of commitment. I know I'll end up with a billion hateful responses here, but he's not a stupid man, and I can't actually see him in any kind of committed relationship unless he has some kind of intellectual rapport as well–from which he runs, runs, runs.

There is no law saying George Clooney has to get married. He can be the biggest man-ho going if he so chooses, it's his life. And any lady that gets involved with him is foolish if she doesn't get the fact that he's not the marrying kind. He is not obligated to be into marriage. Maybe he knows himself, is true to himself, and doesn't want to be divorced every few years when his relationships fizzle. As for needing help, George Clooney is rich, famous, and successful, it looks like he's doing okay.

Clooney was married once before. Divorced and then declared that he'd never do it again. Had a pet pig for years rather than relationships. Perhaps he really intends to stay single for the duration or at least until he finds a woman who doesn't mention marriage until he does.

Just to set the record straight, i did use the phrase marriage of the heart. As far as the happily unmarried part, i was referring to both the legal and churchs definitions of marriage. I thought people would get that without me having to explain it. I was mistaken and apologize for not having been more clear in my meaning.

After seven consecutive years together, your relationship with your lady became a common law marriage, for all intents and purposes in the legal sense. If you part ways, you can sue each other, just like you were married "for real."

I was married once. Took ten years and two kids to realize marriage just wasnt for me. I found a girlfriend who had been married before and also had kids, and who shares my view. We are happy together without the trappings of marriage. We are firmly commited to one another. We came up with our own description. Its called a marriage of the heart. Somebody else has already used that before us, but neither of us had heard it before. I guess i am like gene simmons, happily unmarried!

Gay or not, nobody's business but his. Anyway, the ladies all know going in how he feels about marriage. If they get to a point in the relationship that the lady wants to marry and he doesn't then its time to move on and find a man who wants marriage. Its sad when so one is in love and wants the whole package, but you can't force people to marry you if they don't want to get married.

He was married for several years to Talia Balsam, and he said he will never marry again. It always sounds as if he has an issue with marrying again, rather then being married at all. Either way, he's not planning to marry.

Good catch! This sort of thing occurs frequently on cnn.com, I've noticed. Sometimes they're very slack about little things such as, oh, accuracy. Slackers.

Thought she would break him of no marriage but, I hardly feel sorry for these girls. Not that we care, but if he hadn't dated them we wouldn't know their names. In addition to the obvious extras, they all get a little publicity out of it. ~ I'm with whoever said when he gets older he'll marry a young 'nurse' because being alone then won't be as much fun.

Warren Beatty was a bachelor until he was 55 and noone called him gay! Just because someone doesn't want to get married, it doesn't make them gay! (not that I have anything against being gay). It just makes them afraid of commitment....

I do think he uses the women more than they use him because he takes up their young and vital years, then drops them after one or two years to prey on the next one. That, to me, suggests a compulsion because it's been that way for decades! He's getting to be the age where this kind of behavior is simply "disgusting."
