Spielberg fired Megan Fox for Hitler commentMegan Fox and her former co-star Shia LaBeouf have each shared their views on why the actress was replaced in the upcoming “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” and now director Michael Bay is having his say. Fox, 25, was just in “a different world, on her BlackBerry...You gotta stay focused,” Bay tells GQ in the magazine's July issue. Screenwriter Ehren Kruger adds, “She was there for rehearsals. But she seemed like an actress who didn’t want to be a part of it. She was saying she wanted to, but she wasn’t acting like it.” And then, of course, there was the time she compared Bay to Hitler in an interview. "And you know, the Hitler thing," Bay recalls. “Steven [Spielberg] said, ‘Fire her right now.’” Fox claims that she left "Transformers" on her own accord, but regardless of how it went down, she was soon replaced with Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Now, as the film is set to open in theaters June 29, Bay says that he's not holding any grudges against the actress. “I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy,” Bay says. "She sent me a text three months ago. She said 'I hope you’re doing well.' I responded, 'Who is this?' She goes, 'Megan, you dork!' I said, 'Oh, well, thank you.' When you’re days and months on a set, it’s like a family. You say rude things and you make up.”

I don't know what happened on that set, but if a person, who ever they are, is being a tyrant, then IMO it is perfectly appropriate to call them Hitler. So what!!! Frankly Megan was clearly not into the Transformers II thing so I can imagine she wasn't that enthusiastic about Transformers III. It was a good call to replace her. Megan Fox must be very dim witted. She had an opportunity for a long career with Transformers 1 but she has blown her chances. Um, you might try re-watching TEMPLE OF DOOM. The scene in question (where they ate monkey brains, snakes, etc.) was meant to show that the Mola Ram cult had nothing to do with Hinduism. The novelization clearly spells this out – Indy realizes they're in trouble when they're offered meat, which devout Hindus won't touch.

It is always good to think of the people working around you when making remarks or comments. I can understand letting one's guard down and having good camaraderie with people in the studio. But it is hard to know if you've stepped on someone's foot without communication. A level of caution is needed at all times. However, caution should make anyone uncomfortable.
I know, the communication argument sounds like a cliche. My question is why it wasn't utilized here? When I manage, I manage with communication. I work with it too. I also know that people are going to be well . . . people. And they should be that way, especially in the entertainment industry.

Why is everyone assuming that Spielberg fired her because he was personally offended by the specific mention of Hitler? All the article say is that she compared Bay to Hitler in a public forum and Spielberg told Bay to "Fire her." If she had compared Bay to Stalin, it likely would have led to the same reaction. #1) They are there to make a movie and there are millions of dollars at stake, be professional.
#2) Spielberg has paid his dues. Watch the Jaws DVD and you will see what he had to go through.
#3) With that last statement, Spielberg isn't the greatest and some of his movies or productions don't quite make it. Sometimes they are crap but really well done and polished crap.
#4) Transformers to me was an over rated explosion and fight sequence that just blew... I didn't care for the cartoon while I was growing up in the 80's and still don't like it but I'm just 1 person. If Spielberg put his heart into the Smurfs then we would have another Shrek type mania. Just wait for the Smurf Disney ride.
#5) Bring back Amazing Stories...

I would like to have seen Megan Fox on the 3rd episode just as anyone would've. But to everyone saying that instead of going to watch the movie in theaters, they would just buy the blu-ray and watch it at their house cause of being upset at the directors. Lets think about this for a minute...$8-12 bucks for a ticket to see the movie. or $29 or more to buy the blu-ray and take it home and own it. If you are that upset at the directors...why not just wait til it comes out on cable to like TNT or FOX channel or an HBO that you might allready have and watch it for free...or anyother choice here. I see no proof here that Fox was indeed fired for the comment, and she said she left the project on her own accord. It is bad journalism to make the headline that she was fired for it when ultimately it was not Mr. Spielberg's decision.

There's obviously a lot more to this story that is shown in this article. Lead actresses in multi-film franchises don't get fired for minor or even major insults. There are contractual issues as well as fan-bases to consider. My guess is Fox simply wasn't taking her job seriously and that kind of behavior can be infectious on a set. It can also anger your fellow actors. No, there has to be more to this story than the Blackberry and Hitler remark. I will say that if you go to work for Steven Spielberg, who directed Schindler's List and has been heavily involved in Shoah, you don't use the H-word. That is a no-brainer. And maybe that's Fox's problem. She has no brain.

That's not the way Michael Bay works. He is a hard-a** because he's usually the most prepared person on set, and he expects cast and crew to put in as much work. Sure, his movies suck something terrible, but he is known for having his stuff together. If cast or crew on his set don't show the initiative and effort to work at his level, he's not going to coddle them. Notice how some of the toughest directors (him and James Cameron) make some of the biggest blockbusters. On something that big, there is simply no time or energy wasted on holding anybody's hand.

Shows a terrible work ethic to publicly complain about work hours that are standard for the industry. Shows a lack of common sense if not intelligence to publicly criticize your boss for wanting you to pay attention at work. Definition of boss: the guy who's paying you millions to do a little smiling, a little crying, a little more smiling, and to sit down when your stunt double takes over. That's the 'something more' behind the story. She was bad business and they were wise to get rid of her; it would only get worse.

Slavery didn't end 300 years ago either, the USA isn't even officially 300 years old. Even after slavery ended after the Civil war, it was less than 40 years ago that blacks were given truly equal status based on the law – and even then true equality didn't happen overnight. Be thankful you and your family don't have to personally deal with something like that.

This young woman is similar to others her age. They make remarks without thinking about offending others. Mean, disrespectful, profane are all commonplace- all over the blogs. Anything goes. Isn't it very common for teens and young adults to call people "moe" for moron and 'tard' for retarded? How many people does that offend? What about the habit those age groups have of calling things or actions "gay?" But just because those words slip off the tongue so readily, as did this young girl's "Hitler" moniker, it does not make it OK or correct. That beng said, what consequences are there for those other remarks on the ones who use them so easily? NONE!! Ms. Fox offended a powerful "celebrity" even though I doubt she meant it to be anti-semetic. I'd guess she doesn't even know what that term means. I beleive her 'offense' did not rise to the level of the punishment.
Unless Fox had an exclusive contract with The the studio/producer/director that states she can not voice her opinions to the press (or foreign magazine's for that mater) then she should not have gotten fired. Although Megan Fox's acting abilities are limited in scope, I don't believe that is what she was hired for..and now her face is synonymous with the franchise. -The producer's and director's ego's were obviously bruised, but that was no reason for removing a main character from the third film. ..-It's like firing "Fredo" from the godfather franchise and replace him with some blond guy..
