Big surprises (and Lady Gaga) on 'SYTYCD'Well, that was unusual. Thursday night's "So You Think You Can Dance" results show, the first one this season, fittingly had a couple of unexpected firsts. What was expected, for the most part, were the couples who made the bottom three. I was correct in guessing that Jess and Clarice, and Tadd and Jordan would be at the bottom. I was a little surprised that Robert and Miranda were there though, but not entirely. I may have overestimated Robert's popularity, but, then again, there are plenty of winners who have been in the bottom. As for the solos, I enjoyed Miranda's, Jess's and Tadd's the most. I would have been fine if Clarice, and the injured Mitchell had been told he could audition again for next season (like we saw with Billy Bell). That's where things got weird. Nigel Lythgoe asked that Mitchell and Robert do their performances once more... and after all that, it was decision time. Or not. Turns out no one is going home! Yay! But then why did we see those guys perform again? Meanwhile, Lady Gaga debuted her music video. Hopefully her future judging gig on the show won't be as boring. Apparently, Keri Hilson (on tape) and Gennadi Saveliev performed, too. But they didn't make much of an impact. What did you think of last night's result's show? Sound off below! |

I think that based on the first solos, Robert should have gone home, but it's obvious that Nigel likes his big personality and wanted to give him a second chance (hence the second dance for your life). When Robert didn't do anything on the second solo, this was the only way to save Robert. I discuss SYTYCD with several people and all of them find Robert annoying, especially the whoo-ing.
O M G. I LOVE LADY GAGA. I ACTUALLY CONSIDER MYSELF LIL GAGA AKA GAGA LEPPS. AND I KNOW I CAN DANCE. THE LEPPER 2 STEP FELLAS.
I think the judges' decision to not send anyone home was a subtle way of telling America that they blew it with the votes. The obvious choice to send packing were Ashley and Chris, but to be fair I don't think their choreographer challenged them.
I remember the days, in fact it was just last week, when Gaga's name was mentioned there would be hundreds of posts! Today, mine makes three! Sad or a sign of the times?!? You (bloggers) be the judge! Personally I think she best stack that paper now, before the $ train stops! And the show is OK, too!!
the deciding not to send anyone home after making the guys do all that seems likea cruel prank on Kat, poor girl didn't know what was going on. Loved Megan as a guest judge, hope to see more of her. Something tells me for all her fanfare Gaga would not be all that critical. I hope the judges are not moving in the direction of American Idol where everyone is awesome and every routine is superb. I miss the days of serious critics to bring out the best in the dancers.
I can't beleive it's not butter
