There’s plenty of room for friends at Courteney Cox’s Malibu pad.
The actress tells Elle Décor in the July/August issue that, after growing up with 20 first cousins and having a Sunday dinner ritual at her grandmother's house, she’s still accustomed to rounding up loved ones for weekly celebrations.
Situated on two acres, the estate has guest cottages, a tennis house and court, plus a saltwater swimming pool.
The look she was going for, Cox tells Elle Décor, was “modern barn” – and with renovations, she’s created a space that’s “exactly how I want to live.”
After all of her renovation work, the “Cougar Town” star isn't seeking to part with the property anytime soon, but there are one or two stars trying to cash in on their casas – Charlie Sheen is one of them.
The actor has listed his 7,924-square-foot Beverly Hills home for $7.2 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Located in Mulholland Estates, the mansion - perhaps better known as Sheen's "Sober Valley Lodge" - includes five bedrooms and seven baths, and is described as an "entertainer's dream with spacious public rooms, most of which open to a beautifully landscaped yard featuring a professional outdoor kitchen with dining area, pool and spa.”
Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres may also be looking to make a sale – according to Curbed, the daytime talk show host and wife Portia have reportedly put their Beverly Hills compound on the market. Rumor has it that DeGeneres snapped up the main house for $29 million, and then the couple spent another $19 million to purchase adjacent mansions.
Candy Spelling, widow of famed TV producer Aaron Spelling, has also put her $150 million Beverly Hills estate on the market – the highest-priced house in the U.S. – and it's all set to be sold to 22-year-old Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The expansive 57,000-square foot space comes complete with a bowling alley, a beauty salon, gift-wrapping rooms, a flower-cutting hall, a china room, a dog grooming room and five bars.
Across the pond, J.K. Rowling is demolishing another expensive property so she can build a garden.
According to the U.K.’s Telegraph, the “Harry Potter” author has received permission to knock down a £1 million home next to her own mansion so that she can expand her outdoor space, creating a “Renaissance-style garden” with a greenhouse.
