Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are engagedNew Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries has put a diamond ring on the finger of Kim Kardashian, and the couple are now engaged, the reality TV star's rep confirms to CNN. According to People magazine, the surprise proposal went down on May 18 at Kardashian's Beverly Hills home. Humphries, 26, waited for the reality TV star in her bedroom, down on bended knee, with the words "will you marry me" spelled out in red rose petals. Kardashian, who has been dating the athlete for six months, says the question caught her off-guard.
"I didn't expect this at all," the 30-year-old told People. "I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now," she said. With the help of Kardashian's mom Kris Jenner, Humphries planned an intimate celebration for the engagement. Although he wasn't aiming for a huge fete, the basketball star did know he wanted one thing to be over-the-top: the ring. He tells People of the 20.5-carat sparkler, "I just knew I wanted it to be big."

Wow–another celebrity "engagement"! That means in another 5 yrs from now, we get to go through another celebrity divorce!!! Yippee!! There is NO possible way to know someone intimately enough, after a mere 6 mos, to marry them. At that point, you are "in love" with their image, their beauty, their wealth and fame–it's infatuation. You haven't experienced many arguements, but if you have had MANY-then that's a warning sign it's maybe not the best relationship, or have had enough of every day life to really know the person inside the nice body. Kris Humphries is in love with an image–he's a 26 yr old KID in love with a very savvy, manipulative WOMAN. Well the day has almost finally arrived. Ms. Kim Kardashian is engaged and planning a wedding! Personally, I have never cared about the Kardashian women because all I saw was a sham. It was all about the money, being seen, etc. But I truly do wish them the best because marriage is a sacred thing that brings commitment and sacrifice, two things that I haven't seen in Kim Kardashian or her sisters to date except for the one married to Lamar Odom but even that one was basically a shotgun wedding. So again I wish them the best.

yeah, that marriage will last a long time – NOT! it's crazy to get engaged after such a short time of dating. there never a good solid base for a relationship to truly last long-term after only knowing someone for so little of time. hope Kim's got a good divorce lawyer on retainer as she'll need it (same with Khloe as i doubt her marriage is going to survive more than a few years).

Not saying its going to last (or won't last), but when Khloe got engaged to Lamar (in like three seconds), I remember thinking, wow, this won't last, but now that I see them together, I think they are perfect together. Sometimes, you just know. Every relationship is different. My bestfriend's parents got engaged after two weeks and have been married for 40 years. Again, not trying to compare, but you also can't compare them to Reggie. Clearly, that relationship wasn't right. Let time tell and let's hope for the best.
