'American Idol' last performances tonightThey better sing it like they mean it. Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery have one last chance to impress the judges and "Idol" voters tonight in part one of the season's finale. The pair - shown on Monday with "Idol" producer Simon Fuller, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - have come a long way.Lauren will reportedly sing a song chosen for her by country star and "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood, while Scotty will sing a song picked for him by country music star George Strait. They will also sing their first singles should they win and a favorite for a total of three tunes Tuesday night. Two teen country singers will battle it out for the title of season 10 champion of "American Idol." Don't forget to join me here as I live blog the performance show.

Ok, I heard Charice is going to sing tonight as a guest...I hope this is true because Charice knows how to kill a song and make it so exciting that she's known to leave folks in awe. She now has her own powerful songs and albums, too.
I think both of the finalist are great vocalists............but, what a boring finale. Without Haley and James as finalist it really isn't worth watching. These two my both go on to great careers, especially Scotty, but I have to agree with some of the others here that this will be the most boring finally ever. At least the winner won't be some christian conservative that won because he wasn't gay and the other guy was.
The people who watch this show just empower the people who are in charge to be our intellectuall slaveholders

How can Scotty go that far??? i still don't understand????? the kid does not have a high and strong voice compare to Haley, Pia, James and he just sings country music only. May be too many people loves country music to vote for him. The way he holds the microphone is so funny. His body is always tilt to one side.........
Seems to me Lauren is primarily a country singer as well, no? I'm not a big fan of country music, but have enjoyed Scotty's voice and performances. Both seem to be good kids. Best of luck to each...

Scotty was, as a boy, a tenor. When his voice changed he became bass! This is not usual for teens to make that big a change, but for Scotty it's an asset! Very few can hit notes that low but it enhances his singing. LOVE IT! Both are young clean cut kids. How refreshing! Good luck to them both. Too bad they can't tie. They sig well together!
I guess America love boring and mediocre "talents" like these two.

I probably shouldn't even post this but I'm pretty sure the kid's name is McCreery, not McCreedy. Not that it particularly matters, but I hold news outlets to pretty high standards when it comes to things like this. Sorry CNN.com! Just giving you the heads up!

There's a report on TMZ that Lauren has lost her voice and may have to drop out. That would mean Haley would be in the finale. Sources say Haley is rehearsing just in case. Booo! I want Lauren to win!!!!
OMG! I can only hope! At least then one of the perfomances would actually BE a performance.....
