Brad Pitt: Religious upbringing was 'stifling'

Filmmaker Terrence Malick's latest, "The Tree of Life," has been alternately described as a “tone poem” delving into issues about faith, family and forgiveness and a “coming of age story about the universe,” so it’s understandable that Monday's Cannes press event got a little heavy.

The movie tells the story of a Midwestern family in the 1950s, with Brad Pitt playing the authoritative father raising three kids along with his wife, played by Jessica Chastain.

We start where we left off last week, with Sarah on death's door after an attack by Vivian Volkoff. Chuck decides the only person who can help save her is Alexei Volkoff, so he heads off with Casey to spring him from prison.

Todd Phillips: Since when have comedies been about plot?

If "The Hangover Part II” sounds remarkably similar to the original “Hangover," it's not because it's a rehash of the hit 2009 film - it's because they're based on the same "blueprint," says director Todd Phillips.

“The blueprint of the ‘Hangover 2’ is very similar to the blueprint of ‘Hangover’ one,” Phillips tells CNN, adding that “it's a special thing that the ‘Hangover’ sort of owns that blueprint.”

But that doesn't mean that it's the same movie all over again, he says.

Yabba-dabba... Giggity?
