Chris Rock's Broadway play gets extendedA Broadway play featuring comedian Chris Rock has been extended. The New York Times reports that "The Mother-- With The Hat" will run at Gerald Schoenfeld Theater through July 17 instead of ending June 25 as originally planned. The play, about a former drug dealer struggling to maintain sobriety and the lives of those around him, marks Rock's Broadway debut. The show was recently nominated for six Tony Awards, including best play. Katie Holmes falls for Chace Crawford in new comedyKatie Holmes may be married to an older man in real life, but she's set to play a cougar in the upcoming comedy "Responsible Adults." According to Deadline, Holmes will star as Liz Quinn, a 30-year-old med student who falls head-over-heels for charming 22-year-old Baxter, to be played by "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford. Just as things begin to heat up between the two, Liz realizes that she has met Baxter before. In fact, she used to be his babysitter just 15 years earlier! 'Modern Family': Good cops, bad cops and GagaWednesday night's "Modern Family" was an example of the series at the top of its game. I particularly want to applaud the Dunphy plotline. Seeing this week's MVP, Phil, after his daughters "poked the bear" was a sight to behold. Claire, meanwhile, took Luke and Manny go-kart racing because she was tired of being the "bad cop." Unfortunately, she got a little too into it, practically running them over in her go-kart and bullying Manny into ordering something less healthy at the snack bar: "What, are you going to the ball Cinderella? Live a little!" By the same token, Phil took his bad cop role pretty far. Bethenny Frankel's ex-manager wants $100 millionBethenny Frankel recently told the Hollywood Reporter that her reality show fame helped her make $120 million and now her ex-manager wants a piece of that. THR reports that the Bravo star is being sued by the Los Angeles-based management company Raw Talent for $100 million. The lawsuit says the company helped to broker Frankel's recent venture to sell her Skinnygirl Margarita brand to Fortune Brand's Beam Global Spirits & Wine unit and that Raw Talent was later cut out of the deal. Frankel declined to comment to CNN. Beyoncé talks new album, 'Star is Born' remakeIn a new interview with Billboard, Beyoncé bares all about her latest album, professionally splitting from her manager dad, her upcoming role in "A Star Is Born" and why she got "Goofy" on a recent day off. Slated for release in June, the singer's fourth solo offering is titled, appropriately enough, "4." It's a number that holds special meaning for Beyoncé. "We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me," she explains. "It's the day I was born. My mother's birthday, and a lot of my friends' birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date." Cramped quarters on ‘Top Chef: Masters’Another week, another challenge that forces the “Top Chef: Masters” contestants to work in a difficult environment. At least this one wasn’t the out-and-out failure of last week’s fast food restaurant. But before we get to that, we’re going to play a little “7 minutes in heaven.” (I swear I said that joke before host Curtis Stone did on the episode. Stop stealing my material, Stone!) Working off the All-Stars episode where Tom Colicchio made a dish in record time, our Master chefs are given 7 minutes to make a “heavenly” dish with top-shelf ingredients. If that’s not enough pressure, the judges for this Quickfire are the chefs themselves. |
