'Idol' Top 4 will go Gaga

Awww, look at J-Lo bidding Mantasia a warm farewell.

Now that Jacob Lusk is out of the competition, "American Idol" is evenly matched when it comes to the sexes.

We are now down to two females and two males, and all four have strong fan bases. And tonight, they get mentored by one of the biggest artists in the world.

Lady Gaga will be joining Jimmy Iovine to offer advice to the four as they take on the songs of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

(Yeah, I know. I had to look them up too. They are the pair who have written songs for some iconic artists, including Elvis Presley. I would really love to be in the room when the producers come up with these themes.)

Join me tonight as I live blog the show. Hope to see you there "Idol"-ators!

James Durbin did not make it!!! Very strong rocker-metal artist. I thought he did very well on AI until last week.

However, J.LO AND RANDY'S HARSH CRITIQUE OF HALEY COST DURBIN THE PLACE IN THE TOP THREE!! I think America voted to support Haley Reinhart against the most cruel and unjust criticism and comment by J.Lo and Randy. This is what cost Durbin his position in top 3.

Personally I thought it would be Scotty or Alaina to get dinged, but I think Durbin's screamy performance of yesterday cost him the position.

ALSO .... just goes to show how much out of sync are the judges (Steven Tyler excepted) with American likes and dislikes and musical sentiment. Perhaps the judges need to be dropped based on how many times they are off the mark about a contestant.

I'm happy for Haley, Alaina and Scotty. Feel sorry for James Durbin. But this is what America thinks of you ...

It is sad that Lady Gaga is mentoring them. What does she know? I hope she does not share her fashion and costume sense.

Scotty was really cheap to come and exploit the sep 11 theme right now.
