'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Would a bin Laden movie be a blockbuster? The death of Osama bin Laden is a triumph, but would the story about how the U.S. Navy SEALs carried out their brave mission make a great movie – perhaps even a blockbuster? Some people are saying that it wouldn’t, because we already know the ending. I don’t think knowing how all this plays out would automatically turn the concept into a bad movie. The process of hunting down and killing OBL is so compelling. I think if done well, a movie about this could be a huge hit! So today, we are casting the “Osama bin Laden” movie. Who should play the Navy SEALs who brought Osama down? The contenders: Jeremy Renner, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg. Want to find out who I pick? You’ve got to watch "Showbiz Tonight" at 11 p.m. ET on HLN tonight to find out! But tell me here – who do you like? Are we missing any candidates? Post below. Some other big stories we’re fired up about on the show today… Shania Twain dishes on her ex, and are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge now the biggest celebrities in the world? James Caviezel (Count of Monte Cristo,Passion of the Christ). Put a grotty beard on his and he's almost perfect for the Bin Laden role.
It wouldn't take a whole lot of FX makeup to turn Peter Coyote into a a really credible bin Laden. But I think he's too good a person to want the part.
A movie would be great! But no Channing Tatum.. He's been in way to many different movies to be in this one.
I like those choices, but I think Channing Tatum should be on there.
It would make a great movie. Navy Seals are hulks. True heroes.
Won't be a blockbuster unless they show clips from actual footage!
Ryan Reynolds, Jeremy Renner, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg but no hulks like the Rock or Vin.
Jeremy Renner, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce
for a 1$, we'll do Ryan Seacrest. no questions asked.
no thanks necessary. we were never here. you didn't see anything.
