Who moved you out of the 'Idol' Top 7?

Who moved you out of the 'Idol' Top 7?

That was a pretty good show!

Even Seacrest says that it was exceptional. America has a tough choice and it could go so many different ways.

This competition is one of the best so far, I think, and I would buy music from almost all of them.

In your opinion who found heaven out of our Top 7? Who is your top pick and who do you think is getting sent home Thursday night?

Were the contestants completely awesome or just so-so copycats with their covers?

Sound off!

Lauren is a great singer but lacks confidence. I think Jacob, Stefano and Scotty might make the bottom 3...Have to wait and see...

Best Season Yet! bottom 3 – Haley – Scott – Stefano...with Stefano leaving.
Casey and James brought their game.
Casey is unique and very, very talented.
James is true to himself. For all those haters that think he is a double to Adam Lambert...Are you all kidding? Just because they both like the same genre of music – they are different. James is 100% better than Adam by far.
They know who they are and what they do well. Good for them and I believe it will be Casey and James in the finale.

I'm not sure this season has the best singers -Ii think its because the format is different – they arent stuck singing songs out of character for them – no stupid themes like on past shows. They are able to sing songs they are more comfortable with so naturally they are better at it.

I LOVED the kids comments about each others habits and mannerisms – very funny ! Especially when they did Scotty – HA ! The way he handles the microphone and his dorky eyebrows – that cracked me up ! :))

The Pink song "So what" was bad, only PIa was handling that song. Paul sounded horrible in it, but that may have been a sound problem (see above). But his voice does not mix well with Pia's strong, clear, voice – who made that decision??

Scotty – “Swinging” was okay – nothing special. And since they did that piece about how he holds his microphone, it now really bugs me. The song was way too safe and boring – big yawn.

James – “Uprising” – A very poor imitation of Adam Lambert. The theatrics were just like Adam Lambert, including the costume, but James’ singing was horrible. James did nothing new or unique with that song. It sounded like mediocre karaoke, until he made it really bad with his screeching in parts. I thought it was the worst performance of the night. Seriously James – stop with the screeching – ENOUGH already – you just sound like a caricature of yourself now – and do SOMETHING original with a song- besides screeching.

Haley – “Rolling in the Deep” – I liked it. She was handling the soft parts without fading or sounding “mushy” and she belted it out when the song called for it. Nice.

Jacob – “Dance with my Father” – After the gaffe that was obviously caused by a sound problem in his earpiece, it was okay. Give hime props for continuing and doing the best he could after that. He didn’t annoy me like he usually does. He sang the song well, but there wasn’t any wow factor with the song. Since there was no wow factor with the song, and with the sound gaffe at the beginning, he may be going home tonight. (and the poor guy looked like he knew it)

Casey – “Harder to Breathe” – I liked it. He didn’t growl too much (which he has a tendency to do) and he added his uniqueness to the song without blowing it.

Stefano – “Closer” – I’m not a Stefano fan, but he probably saved himself yet again – he did okay, not great, just okay. At least he listened to Jimmy and wasn’t out there “pleading” all over the stage again – though, you could tell he was really fighting it. But now he needs to work on his stage moves without looking pervy or like a jerk. I also noticed he had to take out his earpiece (sound support problems AGAIN??).

Lauren – “Born to Fly” – I liked it. One of the best performances of the night. She could have been stronger/belted it out just a tad more – like the judges said, but it was still good. She’s got the chops. I really like how she's mixing pop with country and doing her thing with a song. Where as Scotty is now just imitating country twang because he's its obvious he is confusing "doing soemething unique" with "being unfaithful to country".

Worst of the night: Scotty and James, but the sound gaffe may cause Jacob to go home. Best of the night: Casey, Lauren, and Haley.

But all the contestants really need to step it up next week. Start taking some chances, belt it out! Safe doesn’t cut it anymore.

Casey did it! He finally grunted so hard he popped a turd! Haley needs to stop watching old Edie Brickell videos. Stephano: Give up now. Try-outs for Jersey Boys start next week. James (let's just call him little Lambert) should win this all, but the deep-voiced, one-note, big headed, cross wearing kid from the square states will take it. Predetermined.

What the heck was up with the sound on the show last night?? You couldn't hear Pall sing during the Pink song – but that could have been just Paul. But then there was an obvious tech glitch with Jacob's earpiece sound – that may cost him, and then I saw Stefano have to take earpiece out as well. Come on AI Production Staff!!! How long has this show been on? How many millions of dollars does it bring in?? Sound support and attention to detail should be a Nobel prize winning scence on that show by now! Yet, its obvious they've got the interns or the production support retards doing the sound support for that show. There have been other nights where the live audience was obviously hearing the band/instruments/back ground singers differently than what the TV audience was hearing. Inexcusable!

James was all over the place. Jacob was thrown from the start. Stefano was karaoke all the way. Scotty was low-end, and boring. Casey was Eh. Haley was Eh. Lauren was Eh.

I thought all 7 were good tonight and some, including James, were great in my opinion and I am a music lover and critical of what I listen to. You obviously have more insight than I and the majority of the people watching this show do. You must be a very talented individual. Thanks for setting me and the others straight.

Another tough one because nobody was bad. My bottom three: Scotty, Jacob, and Stefano.
Scotty and Jacob are in danger of falling into the "more of the same" category. They are not stretching as performers and leaving their comfort zones. Nobody is asking them to do a complete 360, but they need to test the waters a little bit, stretch out and grow as an artist. And Stefano, I like him, but I think some of the others are pulling ahead. I think it's Stefano's time to leave though. Very tough call. I like this group of contestants a lot.

Unfortunatley it looks like James Durbin is the favorite to win this year. Adam Lambert rocked better but oh well it has been a strange year on Idol. Haley did good and Jacob was too emotional but still did well. Scotty was awful and Casey the Wolfman was starnge as usual, Lauren was a little weak last night and Stefano was back to his usual boring and overrated self.

I'm getting really tired of seeing alot of true talent being sent home while Scotty continues on. He seems like a nice kid, but I fail to see anything extraordinary about any of his performances. I think Casey is the clear winner.

On my professional comment above. Well here goes. The American Idol 7 have access to almost unlimited backup and help. A true professional takes advantage of that and uses it. Remember that these people want to be professional musicians on a stage. So ask yourself why all the others just sat on chairs, except Durbin (OK, Stefano tried to dance and Casey tries, I am not sure what). Take a look at some rally professional musicians and you will see that the best country and western are musicians first. They can go with all kinds of music.

I think this year is a great top 11 group–and the top 7–I agree all will be able to sell records! But, we are coming down to crunch time. Personally, I think Jacob has a beautiful voice but I'm tired of him always being sad when he sings so it's time for him to go. Stefano has improved a lot–and is an entertainer but I would probably send him home after Jacob. I love country and I love Scotty but he's got to quit tilting that head to one side and holding on to the mike like a security blanket–he need to step it up if he wants to go on. That leaves Hailey, Lauren, James and Casey and I think they are going to have to show me what they've got before I put them in order! James and Casey don't really do my kind of music but they are both great–and Hailey wins most improved for sure. Lauren started out good and not disappointed us (except the week she was sick) but her mom might want to try to look more like her mom than her big sis.

What do people see in Scotty? I must be missing someting, because I cannot stand even looking at him, much less listen to him. It looks like Alfred E. Neuman, holding the mike like a flute, singing the same 3 deep notes while making faces that are borderline "special people".

James is a great showman but don't know if I'd buy his stuff. Love Scotty but he was really boring last night. He for sure has a Nashville career so maybe it's time for him to head there. I like Stefano but can see how he wouldn't appeal to everyone. Didn't care for either of the girls performances last night BUT both are talented. Jacob can sing but he's boring too and gotta go. Casey may be brilliant but he just confuses me. Bottom 3: Jacob, Stefano and Hailey. Going home? Jacob.

I think they're ALL so talented Even though sometimes I don't like Jacob's entire song, there is ALWAYS a point in the song that he gives me goosebumps. Scotty just tickles me with his microphone and mouth, but love his voice. Casey is insanely talented even though I don't always like his performances. Being an almost-senior citizen, I'm just not into the music that James performs, but he is so talented and I have just fallen in love with him. I'd be very happy if he won it, but he sure does remind me of Adam Lambert. I have a feeling the bottom 3 will be Scotty, Stephano and Jacob. I hate to see any of them go, but we can't have 7 Idols. Good luck to all of them.

People actually think Hailey did a good job?! I'm sorry Hailey didn't sign the song 1/10 as well as Adele does.
Lauren and Hailey along with jacob and scotty will be the next 4 to go. Jacob and Scotty are 1 style type guys, sure they can do their style really well, but, their now boring. Lauren is just annoying and not very good. Hailey has her moments but doesn't come close to being as good as the guys.

Look for a final with Casey and James.

Were there deaf people in the audience? If not, I don't see how you can hold her responsible for not Signing the song.
If I'm looking for a Casey/James finale, then I'm looking at a 5th consecutive season of disappointing/nonexistent record sales for the winner, and mild success for the runner up.

Casey is a musical genius. He's not mainstream enough for most people to understand that, but he is very very talented. I loved him last night. I think James put on the best performance by far and will have a great career. I loved Haley's and I think if she continues in that direction, I will definitely buy her album. Lauren's performace was sweet and if she can just pull out some more confidence, she could make it to the finals. That leaves Jacob, Scotty, and Stephano in my bottom 3. I think Jacob will make it through with sympathy votes. Scotty's performance was good but I'm tired of him doing the same thing. He has a guaranteed career in Nashville- it's time for him to go there. And I just don't think Stephano is at the same caliber as the rest of the contestants. I hope he goes home tonight.

Crack a Websters, and stop using words that don't apply. Not everyone is a Genius, and they aren't all Brilliant, or any other word you've heard overused by Simon Cowell, and Gordon Ramsey. If Casey were a "genius" more than 30% of the comments would be in agreement with you. However, they aren't. Most disagree with you, which means, like it or not, you're wrong. He's just OK, and it's perfectly alright to like something that is just OK without over-inflating it to "absolutely brilliant" status.

Tonight i thought Hailey was the best! And she did a good song choice...Adelle!! James Durbin scared me..wierd outfit..marching band! Personally, i feel James Durbin could not handle it if he were voted American Idol. It would be fun if Scotty went off...though i love the old John Anderson song..'Swinging', hell, i've never heard Leann Rhimes sing it..nor would i want to!! I also liked Jacob's tribute to his father..usually Luther Vandross don't do much for me..but tonight..and loosing a father when only 12......Casey Abrams..somewhere in the bottom middle, i say. And Lauren a little below him!!

Yeah, you cast your vote for a gal with no personality, and no stage presence. Sure, I totally believe you when you say this is the best top 7 ever......by the way, do you have Rebecca Black on heavy rotation? Casey is terrible, Jacob and James are not unique in any way, shape, or form. Haley has no personality, Stefano is on the outs. Lauren is generic. Then there's the train wreck that is Scotty. I wonder which "Josh Turner" version of any song he'll do this week. Oh wait, best ever.

Same clothes, same stage antics, same performance methods, same everything except black hair and eyeliner. That is the ONLY thing keeping James unique. Good voice, but he's not a rocker. He doesn't have the personality for it, so it comes off as a cheap copy of Lambert. I can PROMISE you that he will do a Lambert song by the end of the show – either one from his album, or one he performed on Idol. Wait for it, because it will freakin happen.

Agree with Sara all the way. Not an ounce of sincerity. This rocker thing just seems like something he can do, not who he is. He comes off as a Karaoke poser, at best, because there's no heart behind the voice.

    • Liz

Seriously? James Durbin has "no heart behind the voice"? Did you watch his storyline from the beginning? That kid was ALL emotion and he continuously draws strength from his trials in life. He's become a much stronger performer from audtion day and is a natural. That's what a true contestant will do...keep improving each week. He makes it LOOK effortless but you can't fake talent like that!

Bugs me to no end when I see people write that James has no emotion or isn't genuine. I guess it bugs me because I have grown up with and now am parenting an Aspie. James doesn't display his emotions in a neural typical (neural typicals – nt's. That's the way they describe us more touchy feely folk) way, but he has them and his passion is plain to see for those who aren't closed in to the nt mindset.

James is a talented singer and has great vision for his performances, can we give him some credit and stop with the Adam comparison.
