The trailer for the upcoming “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” has been released, and we're curious if we're the only ones pleasantly surprised by it.
James Franco stars as scientist Will Rodman in the "Planet of the Apes" prequel, and as the camera pans down a desolate hallway filled with flickering lights, the inescapable actor tells us that they’ve discovered a drug that “allows the brain to repair itself.”
But the drug does more than that - it also “radically increases brain function” and improves intelligence, perhaps a little too well. And then, after we see all the medical testing that Rodman's been doing on his ape friends...well, we bet you can guess what happens.
“Slumdog Millionaire’s” Freida Pinto portrays Caroline, who appears to be the voice of reason as she warns Franco's Rodman against trying to change too much.
"Lord of the Rings" actor Andy Serkis, John Lithgow, and "Harry Potter's" Tom Felton also star in the vehicle, which swings into theaters on August 5. Does the trailer entice you to see it?
