Expect to see the creepy and kooky side of beautiful Brooke Shields when she joins the cast of Broadway's "The Addams Family" this summer.
According to Playbill, Shields has just signed on to play Morticia Addams in the popular musical based on the 1960s TV series.
"I am delighted to be joining 'The Addams Family' this summer," says Shields, who will take over for actress Bebe Neuwirth. "When the producers asked me to come see the show a few months ago, I found it to be wonderfully entertaining, funny, clever and even touching, and I knew immediately that I wanted to be the next Morticia, following the amazing Bebe Neuwirth."
Neuwirth will play her last show on June 26, and Shields—whose previous Broadway credits include "Grease," "Chicago," "Cabaret," "Wonderful Town" and "Girls Talk"—will take the stage of the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre with Gomez Addams (Roger Rees) beginning June 28.
"I can’t wait to join Roger and the wonderful cast," she says.
Does Shields have what it takes to play Morticia?
