Image is everything in Hollywood, and thanks to his bongo-beating, oft-shirtless, live-it-up ways, it's easy to dismiss Matthew McConaughey as nothing but a party boy. Yet the actor admits that isn't too far from the truth.
"Do I think the image of me is a true picture of who I am? No, it's incomplete. But things about me that are out there — I'm not going to say they're false," the "Lincoln Lawyer" star tells the April issue of Esquire.
In fact, despite being happily partnered with Camila Alves and being the father of two children, the Texas native says he hasn't become completely domesticated.
"Am I a fun-loving guy, man? Who likes running around in the summer with his shirt off, man? Am I a guy who likes to hang out with his friends, and party and go to concerts and football games with his friends?" McConaughey asks. "Well, yeah! Yes, I am. Always have been. Always hopefully will be. You know?"
