Amy Adams cast as Lois Lane in 'Superman'The Man of Steel has found his mate! Actress Amy Adams has been cast as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane in the upcoming "Superman" movie. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," director Zack Snyder told the Hollywood Reporter. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful." Adams joins Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as his parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent. “There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder told the L.A. Times. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it." Lois has gone through many incarnations since her first comic book appearance in 1939, and Snyder promises that Adams' version will be a modern woman in keeping with the times. "It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him really understandable for today," Snyder told the Times. "What's important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today's audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance]."

Amy Adams is not the right actress to play Lois Lane. She is much too old for the part and she does not have the right look. Henry Cavill is young, dark and handsome. His love interest should be equally beautiful. Amy Adams is not. In my opinion, Margot Kidder ruined the romantic parts of the old Superman movies. I think the same is going to happen in this movie. What a shame!!!

Seriously, and they're bringing back Zod too? Superman has so many better villains but they just have to rehash the 70s Superman one. Lame.
Never heard of Adams or Cavill. looks like Lane and Costner will make the movie. Probably just a sign of how the movie will go. Boooo...Well we have enough of these Marvel Comic movies already.

I like the choice, but I am also a fanboy of Amy Adams. I think she has the acting chops and looks to pull off the role. Im looking forward to this movie.

Ok, not to be rude, but, I always thought Lois was a bit younger......
