Service for Elizabeth Taylor to be held todayUpdate, 4:17 p.m.: According to Sgt. Thomas Lorenz, PIO for Glendale, California, a "small service" will take place today for family and friends of Elizabeth Taylor, who died Wednesday at the age of 79, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. PT. Lorenz told CNN that there will be no procession, no hearse and no motorcade. Attendees will drive into Forest Lawn in their own vehicles, and "just a few dozen" people are expected. There were earlier reports that Taylor would be buried in the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles next to her mother and father and near other stars like Marilyn Monroe, but a rep told CNN earlier that details of her funeral were to stay private. Fans will still get their chance to pay respects to Taylor, however, as details of a memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family did ask that instead of flowers, contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS foundation.

I doubt they had fun at her funeral. Sometimes it's best to keep your mouths shut ! Again, let us know when your fat mom dies so we can talk about putting her in a piano & nibble on her fat toes before we go have fun at her graveside. (Sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it?)

I don't think Elizabeth Taylor's mom and dad were jewish. She took up the jewish religion when she married Eddie Fisher (I think) or it could have been Michael Todd that she changed for.
I think Elizabeth Taylor was truly the most beautiful women to ever grace this planet. She had a style and grace that is never seen nowadays in actresses. There will never be another one like her. She is the last of the great stars...she will be missed.;
Elizabeth Taylor was a beautiful human being, both inside & out. She cared about others and showed it. My condolences to her children & grandchildren for their loss.

Elizabeth Taylor was British from England. Her converted religion was Judaism. I'm hoping TV will show all her movies soon.

I think that was wonderful what the family did ,keep it simple,and I'm sure Mrs Taylor had told her family how she wonted to be buried,When death comes it should not be about religion,that's what wrong with a.lot of people today,we all must die,that we have no control of,but we do have control on how we won't to be buried.

It was my understanding that she wanted to be near laid to rest near her friend Michael Jackson.
Elizabeth is being buried near Michael in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Glendale.
Liz reminds me of an aunt I had who tried to please everyone . I say she did a good job of it.

When he died, Liz bought the burial plot next to Richard Burton in Switzerland, on the opposite side of Sally's, his widow. I wonder if she is going to use it.

Elizabeth Taylor was stunningly beautiful,talanted actress, and wonderful woman. She is one and only Hollywood icon and legend. She will be remembered for her roles, and for her amaizing humanitarian work, that she did.(Some comments here are not acceptalbe. You can only see that we have immature individuals with no respect.) I was sad to hear of Elizabeth's passing yesterday. She was truly the real kind of movie star that had glamour, intelligence, and determination that is very rare nowadays. I couldn't help but think of the lyrics of 1 particular song when I heard of her passing: "ageless and evergreen". I will always think of her beauty and that she was able to weather any kind of storm. My thoughts/prayers go out to the children.

No matter her religion, weight, or other things, She was a beautiful woman and wonderful actress. She starred in quite a few of my old favorites and still can't believe she's gone. Rest in Peace Liz!

Just because she was a public figure doesn't mean her death is any easier to her family and close friends. Hopefully ALL will show some respect during this time and this beautiful women (an original Diva) can be laid to rest properly.

Elizabeth Taylor was a beautiful actress, humanitarian and person who graced the world for decades. The world will grieve for her publicly, but her funeral should be private and kept to family and close friends. I'm sure Hollywood will (rightfully so) find a great way to honor her work.

She was a Jewish convert: she converted after marrying Mike Todd. Don't know whether she stayed connected to the faith in her later years. Her parents were never Jewish.

Forest Lawn has Jewish sections, and since she is being buried so quickly (Jewish law calls for a burial within 24 hours), it appears that she is having a proper Jewish funeral service.
Who cares if she was Jewish???
