Ex 'Saturday Night Live' star slams 'Glee' gay kiss

To hear more from Victoria Jackson, tune in to "Showbiz Tonight" today at 5 p.m. ET and again at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN.

"Glee" fans may have been cheering when Kurt and Blaine finally kissed last week, but former "Saturday Night Live" star Victoria Jackson? Not so much.

The quirky comic has slammed the same-sex smooch in her column on the conservative website WorldNetDaily.com.

"Did you see 'Glee' this week? Sickening!" writes Jackson, who appeared on "SNL" from 1986-1992. The episode also featured Kathy Griffin as a religious "Sarah Palin type" and Loretta Devine as a stripper turned nun.

"And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of 'Glee' – what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?"

Jackson takes a similar stance while discussing a new al-Qaida women's magazine called Al-Shamikha.

"This new al-Qaida magazine for women has beauty tips and suicide-bomber tips! Gimme a break! That is as ridiculous as two men kissing on the mouth!" she says. "And I don't care what is politically correct. Everyone knows that two men on a wedding cake is a comedy skit, not an 'alternate lifestyle'! There I said it! Ridiculous!"

gay's are about as important or as memorable as a large bowel movement. No one cares about gays, including themselves. Why else would their lifestyle revolve around using people and moving on to someone new? gay's are less than 3% of the population yet they make up 15% of media coverage. It's kind of sad that godless hate filled gays are allowed to be as bigoted and intolerant as they want because they can use their lifestyle as an excuse. gay's like to be laughed at and made fun of, why else would they parade themselves as comic foils in every media outlet?

Another no talent hack trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame, even though it ended in 1992. If this isn't just a way to gain some attention, if she really was as strong of conviction all along, where was she in 1989-90 when Nora Dunn boycotted SNL, and was subsequently fired, because she didn't agree with the appearance of Andrew Dice Clay? She didn't have a problem appearing with someone who's humor was far worse than a kiss on a tv show, but then, again, people weren't asking themselves back then, "Who's Victoria Jackson? What has she ever done? Why does she think she can be the voice of morality?" This isn't a religious issue. This is an idiot issue. Why are we wasting time discussing anything other than exposing a fraud for a fraud, and putting a no-talent hack back in the shadows of time where they belong?

Wow, enlightened Christian. One who is so devout, that she abandoned the vows she made with her FIRST HUSBAND!! Hmmm.. I love all the Gay Bashers who bring up family values and then contribute to the decline of it themselves by divorcing, committing adultery, etc. (sins, according to the Bible....) Oh, and lets not forget she HAD A CHILD with her FIRST husband that SHE DIVORCES so now there is a young girl without a nice stable household, with the two parent setup so much embraced by all the Christian Groups. But of course she goes out and gets her a stepdad which makes things all right. I am always amazed at the hypocrisy of these people. Did not Jesus say, "love thy brother'? and "he who is without sin cast the first stone"? When she gets to the pearly (or ebony) gates, she's got some splainin to do!!

Yes, we get it:: some people are Gay and not everyone is tolerant, but how many more shows will we have to endure ~the writers lecturing us rather than entertaining us or pervoking us into thought and conversation towards tolerance on OTHER TOPICS/.

Of course "Glee" made fun of Christians: they're absurd! When you get raptured into Heaven, Victoria, I'll be perfectly happy to remain here. BTW I am "straight but not narrow" as they say, and while I don't have TV and have never seen Glee, I'm glad if gays are finally getting some realistic depiction in shows, since they are a valid part of our society and it is long past time for the media to help remove shame rather than foster it.

Well i'm about as common-sense liberal as they come (ie none of that PC crap) and watching two twinks do the gay kiss makes me literally sick at my stomach. Its a visceral action and I'm not apologizing for it. Not into watching two women or two anybody/things for that matter, slather each other in spit either. If you want to do that, go to privacy of your home and do whatever you want. But I DONT need to see you even tho' you think you really NEED to be seen because of your oversized ego. That the Producer is a gay drama queen who's had words with several rock bands for disallowing their music to be played on the show tells me he's a self-rightous p-rick.
I'm also an atheist and detest the sickening faux (or is it Fox?) "Christianity" that infects what passes for American pop culture these days. Jesus is the Way,the Truth and the Life. Renew your mind today by spending time with your heavenly Father. Too many people on these blows are mis-representing eternal Truth with Bible fragments. Truth always prevails-in these times we all need Truth. Start by reading the book of John(and read an easy translation like MSG or the New King James or the ASVJ). It totally disgusts me. Gays have to live with their way of life, just like the rest of us, and God will judge is all at the end. I still believe that gays and lesbianism is the norm, the world has just made it so, but not in my world, and I still control my world. May God have mercy on our souls.

Also, I thought it was fairly generous of CNN to list Victoria Jackson as a former "star" of SNL. Her poetry/gymnastics stand-up routine was quite good for its time, but she was generally terrible on that show. A lot of standing around behind Toonces, the Cat Who Could Drive a Car, as I recall. Best comment! Nothing against BBW. I feel that it is okay to explain to my kids that everyone is different and some children have two moms or two dads, or are raised by one parent or a grandparent . . . . I like Glee because it's not pretending to be anything but entertaining, just like SNL. If you don't like it, turn the channel. Why do anti-gays always say the media is trying to "shove the gay-thing down their throats"? Seems a little suggestive to me. This is the new face of terrorism.

Not ever born again Christian is a gay hater, it is not my thing I am not sure I believe that your born with it, but whatever, the Bible teaches us not to Judge others that's God's job. But I am tired of it being shoved down our throats, you don't see straight parades etc. Just live your life. I am tired of people assuming they know what the Bible says when they haven't even read it. God loves everyone no matter who or what they are. Yes God has rules and laws he wants for us to follow and yes we break them all on a daily basis and pick the ones we follow and ones we don't. I am not a hater of anyone or anything except Clowns, Snakes and Spider. I do not agree with celebreties or pretend celebreties using there fame to force thier agenda regardless of whether they are Christian or not. As far As Glee if you are offended don't watch it, there are many things that are offensive and inappropriate on that show for anyone under 12 to watch. But it is funny and it does tackle current issues. If you have children that watch it then it is something to help start a dialog. It all boils down to what you think is personlly for you and what is not. there is no need to be so mean it really doesn't benefit you. there is a saying "he who angers you owns you. Wow... there's a lot of hate flying around on this board. Instead of flinging mud (believers and non-believers alike), how is it not effective to just state you do or don't agree with what Victoria Jackson said?

Fact is, no one on this planet is perfect by any stretch of the imagination. This includes atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Hindus, Buddists, and Christians. The Bible says what it says and you either believe it, or you don't.

My opinion is, political correctness and relativism have blurred the lines of ethics and morality. As a Christian, I do my best to follow Jesus Christ and daily take up my cross, however I do mess up (sin). I believe the Bible is inerrant, and since I believe that the Bible is the Word of God, it would be wise of me (and other Christians) as a Jesus follower to heed and obey what it says.

Do I think everyone should follow Christ? Yes. Do I expect everyone to? No. Will I try to censor someone for their beliefs? No. It's their choice to follow or not to follow. All I can do is share my faith with others and its up to that person to make a choice.

I for one AGREE with Victoria. I'm tired of all the Gays on TV these days. I'm tired of pagans masquerading as secularists in an effort to force our founding Christian Heritage into obscurity so they can bring about the worship of their heathen gods. I don't let my kids or grandkids watch shows like this, or watch all those terrible movies with wizards, witches or vampires. OUR NATION IS UNDER ASSAULT BY SATAN'S FOLLOWERS, and if Obama isn't going to do anything more than pay lip-service to Christianity then it's obvious that we should organize and mobilize our own Christian Army. I know there's enough good Christians in our armed forces to rebel and throw off the chains of America's heathen oppressors. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW! We need more proud graduates of Beck University!

Not the right way to say it, but she's partially right. It's not appropriate in any way on tv. People just keep pushing the boundaries of whats acceptable further.. it's not ok and the vast quiet majority thinks it's disgusting. I don't know where Victoria gets off being so ignorant & hateful, I think people like her give Christianity a bad name, which is all about loving your neighbor and loving God. At least when you break it down. And Glee is sweet, it is my favorite show on TV and deals with a bunch of issues facing kids growing into adulthood. And with show tunes, who can beat that?!

In this evolving world there is much to learn from history.it takes an openmind, wisdom, emotional maturity, and determination to question and relentlessly seek knowledge to see how history can teach us so much about ourselves- but i believe the dogma that drives "certain" fundamentalist groups or conservative thought systems prevents them from having the perspective to accurately process this information.so they end up viewing the evolving world from a stagnant, unmoving, unchanging place.they mistake dogma for truth.for centuries religions have absolutely forbidden people from questioning or thinking in ways that opposed the church.and for centuries people were killed or tortured for doing so.since people have a natural resistance to change theres still conservative schools of thought that will refuse be open enough to see how harmful some of their thinking and behavior is.there is no room for growth or change within the limited fundamentalist or conservative view.i saw it mentioned in this thread how throughout history there ia ALWAYS an opressed minority that eventually becomes less and less opressed as people evolve generations at a time.unfortunately, this is a slow process because there is a tendency to inherit this closed-minded way of viewing life from parents that instill the "fear" of questioning and original thought.......

why is it that all these religious people keep quoting the bible and yet they all cover up the fact that they are just as messed up as eveyone else. priests keep messing with children and the church covers it up, reverends and pastors cheat on thier wives AND NOBODY CONDEMS THEM. Just because we want to be able to see people just like us on tv isn't SHOVEING IT DOWN YOUR THROAT. It's time for people to realize the world isn't going to be as they think it should be. Time to make the changes that accept people for who they are. Not how some book written and re-written for centuries, changed to fit personal views of the time period, and twisted for personal gain. Get over it. Your allowed to HAVE YOUR POINT OF VIEW ONLY BECAUSE SOME BRAVE PEOPLE LEFT THEIR HOME LAND TO FOUND A COUNTRY OF TOLERANCE. My ancestors being some of them. If you lived in half a dozen othe rcountries, you wouldn't be allowed to express an opinion as you have here. .. Funny how you use the very freedoms you have in this country to keep me from having the same ones you have. And for the record, gay does not aquate to pedophile or beastiality. It is between to consenting adults.

I wonder who can cast the first stone? Who can stand before Christ and say I gave my all to thee, free from ANY sin. There is so many negative comments. You can see who has the spirit of Chirst and who does not. God deals in Justice and unless there is repentance through the Savior...All who sin will be required to pay for their OWN sins and then receive NO GLORY. Now is the time, and Gods words are CLEAR as to what is a sin. He is coming to Cleanse the earth to Receive him. Will you be consumed by the cleansing or caught up to bear wittness and receive your glory? Deny not God. Nothing did not create you, nothing did not create this universe, nothing did not create the bang....God is an Awesome God and is waiting for us to except him. It is our choice and he will not force us.

However, if the bible is the only thing you must understand, then remember this, "he who has not sinned shall throw the first stone."

This has to do with what human nature dictates is normal and proper behavior in public. And yuck, two guys or girls for that matter, doing these things in public is gross. Do what you want in Private, none of my business, but, when you put it out there trying to convince my kids it is acceptable then you have gone too far. What happened to modesty.

What was "sickening" was when GLEE suddenly changed the entire theme of their show and began depicting gay, lesbian, unwed mother and juvenile delinquent characters instead of the "just say no", morally upright and role model inspiring characters they had started with. I also find it incredibly unfair and unjust that Ms. Jackson was obviously forced to watch a show on FOX that goes against her fine, upstanding principles. Apparently that insidious network had usurped her Twilight Zone brand television set by forcing itself onto every single channel she could receive.

Perhaps we can all take up a collection and buy Ms. Jackson a ticket to the 21st century and the age of the on/off switch.

We as Christians have to start standing up for what is right and Holy in this world , even if it means we have to do it alone. Don't waste your breath in fighting with them because our battle is won in the end. Right now they can't see right from wrong , but someday they will have to answer to our maker. As a straight guy who occasionally tunes in to "Glee" (yeah, there are some straight guys who watch it), I thought the kiss was great. Why not? Gays are all around us. I played college football and about four years after we graduated, the quarterback on our team announced he was gay. Kind of a shock at first, but all the guys totally accepted it and we've all remained friends over the years. My wife and I have gay neighbors who we really like, and there are several gay guys at work as well. They should be a part of the human landscape, just like everyone else on the show. I hardly think it's "shoving it in people's faces", since all of the straight characters on the show seem to have love lives.

Did she pick this kiss to get all miffed over? Santana and Brit have been going at it for ages now. Karofsky attacks kurt with a kiss and that's just fine? All of a sudden, Glee decides to show an honest, innocent (relatively), kiss and now there's a problem with it? Maybe it's because the cast/director/producers did too good of a job showing how normal it can be. Sorry fundies, your time is up. Rant about your Bible all you like, but it just makes you look rabid.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised she wasn't more upset over the characterization of Tea Party activists given her obvious political leanings; maybe she was. I didn't bother reading or listening to much more after I saw a bible in her hand.

There's one major thing wrong with this article to begin with.

It refers to Victoria Jackson as a comic.

Comics/comedians are funny. Victoria Jackson is NOT funny. She never was. You'd have to have the IQ of toilet paper to find anything she says or does truly funny. I always thought she was quirky in a funny kind of way, but she is not genuinely, intelligently funny.

Now she's cherry picking from the bible and regurgitating rhetoric for the tea bag party. Just more proof that she isn't a a real comedian because good comics get their material from truth and reality....not from lies, rumors and innuendo.

Victoria...you're an obviously gluttonous woman who has been divorced....who the hell are you to be judging anyone else???? Karma is going to get you for your lies and meanness, girl.

Why are most "Christians" more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands.
God is Love & creates each of us exactly the way we are intended to be. My God is much more diverse than some old European guy up on a throne in the sky. The Bible also says we should stone our children for disobedience and sell our daughters into slavery for livestock. Eating shellfish is as much of a sin as wearing fabrics of different types. If you sleep w/ a woman during her cycle you both should be stoned. So, just exactly which parts of the Bible do we pick out to follow & which parts do we through out as don't apply. All I know is that God is Love & I'm supposed to Love God w all my heart & my neighbor as myself, we are all one race & that space we've been given to live is not that big, we should be able to get along.

It is what it is. HATE. No matter how you change it, make it sound different or sugar-coat it. It is to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest. Whatever the word, these negative feelings take way too much energy to carry on. Love is a much easier emotion to maintain. And God is supposed to be love, not washed-up, has-been comedians spewing their agenda so they can hear the sound of their own voice since no one else wants to hear it anymore. What a waste. Loving and respecting your neighbor is far mor admirable than trashing and belittling them.

And why, oh why, did anyone give her any airtime over this? If you truly want to teach your kids, let them watch and then have the discussion with them relative to your beliefs. In other words, if it's about kids, then be a parent. The great thing about America is we can all have different beliefs and not be persecuted for them.

Don't worry. Most of us know the difference between real Christians and fundamentalist Christians. Some Christians actually try to live up to the ideals of their beliefs. Sadly, they are the less vocal and end up being unfairly lumped together with the militantly ignorant 1/3 of Christians. Much like the all the Muslims get lumped together with the extremists. When you see someone complaining about "Christians" in this context they are generally meaning specifically the bigots.
On the other hand there are some anti-Christian extremists as well and that is a shame. There is plenty of room for various beliefs as long as they are willing to get along with each other.

I have children who love the singing and dancing. We all try to watch as a family. After all, it IS shown in what is supposed to be the 8 p.m. "family hour". Of late, the forced gay viewpoint has been a little too much. OK, Kurt's gay. Now Santana's gay too. And Brittany would be gay if it weren't for her relationship with Artie. The school bully is going to come out in an upcoming episode. My wife and I are open-minded, but have started to prewatch Glee before the children see it so as to avoid any "surprises". It's a shame there is an apparent agenda. It's damaging a quality show.

I've seen teens kissing on prime time television for more than 30 years. Why hide it? Oh yeah, some people seem to think it is wrong when it is two boys or two girls. Some people also think it is wrong when the boy and girl are of different races and do not want their kids to see it is as normal. Should we ban that as well? Or put up a warning or only play it after 10:00 p.m.?
I suggest you switch to TV land or some other channel that reruns the shows of yesteryear. They will probably be safe enough for your world view.

If Glee wants to turn itself into a show about unicorn polygamists then it can. It has no service or duty to fulfill for you. It's a private television show, you don't contribute to its production. If it wants to mock Christians then it will, after all, Americans are always going on about their freedom of speech as though they are the only ones with it. No laws have been broken.

      – signed: straight male father of two. Yes it will soon be a majority of straights that support gay rights. The old dinosaurs are dying and new, less ignorant generations are taking over. Your hate is going out of fashion and soon you can join the racists in their little marginalized world.

@ogtbeach. Actually a relative of mine was in a room full of gay men and asked how many of them were MOLESTED as children AND ALL (yes ALL) of them were molested. Sad to say it IS a LEARNED behavior. So so sad. 🙁 There is a lot of mental anguish they hold and to say that is natural is not. To feel sorry for those that have been molested is nurturing my dear. And yes some people have not been molested but MANY have.

Why is everyone in such an uproar over Glee? I love the show. Who cares if two men kissed on the show. I dont see anyone getting upset over the fact Rachel has 2 dads in the show. No one is getting upset over the fact that a women with ocd is made fun of that is a real illness and people with ocd need help not be made fun of. It seems to me that as soon as a show comes on that does not conform to the ideas of "perfect" life comes on people get upset. Get over it!!! It drives me insane when people get in a tizzy about a fictional show. I work about 75 hours a week and I use this show as a relaxation tool. When I get a chance to watch it it makes me laugh and forget about the stresses and worries of my life. And the fact that a former SNL star is upset over Glee is ridiculous......like SNL was such a wholesome loving family show. Give me a break Victoria Jackson. Why dont you use your new found time (now that you are not on SNL) and the money you made on the show to do some good in the world.

I love when I hear Christian bigots try to argue that it's intolerant to make fun of their intolerance. It's like Hitler saying "Why doesn't anybody respect my right to want to kill all the non-Aryans? Isn't THAT intolerance?" You have a right to believe anything you want. You can believe the world is flat in your ignorant mind, but you don't have the right to infringe on the rights of others or expect other people to support your narrow-minded, hateful view of the world.

  310. A Friend

One of my closest and dearest friends came out two months ago. He had been miserable for years, thinking he was broken, women didn't interest him. about 10 years ago he realized he was gay. He spent the last 10 years hiding it from everyone, so he was STILL miserable. To look at him, you'd never know he was gay, he's a normal guy. He's quiet and doesn't like to rock the boat or be different. He told me that he is still a little angry about discovering that he is gay. I've known him for 20 years, and he has never dated anyone... ever. This told me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he would never have chosen this "lifestyle". It's biological, like having Multiple Sclerosis or being black... It's not contagious, and it's not something people "Choose" to do. If you are going to say that Glee can't show gay people kissing, then perhaps you should also ban the two Asian kids from kissing, too... or that kid in the wheelchair, he's different too... Ignorance is awful. Education is the only way to combat ignorance, and that is what Glee is doing: Educating. I've watched Kurt's father struggle with the EXACT same things I'm now struggling with as I talk to my friend. How do I -a straight man- help him in his relationships? I don't even know where to start... but I'm starting to learn. We actually need this kind of programming. It's not comedy, it's real life.

Go get your Holy Bible and sit down and read it and think deeply about it. Then make your own decisions. Those decisions are not between you and other people. They are between you and god .No one here is your judge , only God can do that. And be assured we will all be judged someday. Remember to be as tolerant of others as you want them to be of you. And we're supposed to love each other. Also this seems to be taking attenion away from some of the other pieces that she has done. And there is some really good and true information in her pieces.Things that we really need to be thinking about and doing something about. Please take the time to go back and read these pieces. Ok Rich...if marriage is just between a man and a woman, then how about we take away all 1,184 Federal rights and concessions that you get when you get married. Let's take all of those rights, including the right next of kin rights, the right to take your spouses last name, the right to receive pension benefits and claim each other on taxes, and we'll make all of these rights equal across the board for any couple entering into a "domestic relationship" by residing at the same address. Let's make marriage what it really is, a civil ceremony performed by a religious representative -that only acknowledges your relationship before God and family. We can make a separate license application that's open to any couple who wishes to apply. Would that make you happy????? Probably not, because idiots like you don't see the hipocracy in what you say and do.

It doesn't matter what any of us think...all these comments mean NOTHING. The only thing that matters is what God says and thinks. The Lord, hates the sin, not the sinner, he gave each of us the choice to choose him or not. We are not to judge, that is Gods job. You say you don't believe in Jesus?..well I will only say ..I will pray for you. I don't see Christians as better than anyone else....just better off. I do not believe people are born gay or lesbian. I have known too many people in my many years make the choice and be happy that they did. I find it hard to believe that people keep saying "they don't know what is wrong with the world" or "kids today". We need only to read the bible as our guide in life and how to raise our kids. I was always taught that money is at the root of all evil...I believe it to this day...The sad part of that is..money burns..just like everything else material will. We need to be setting our treasures up for Paradise not earth, as we are only passing through here. I applaud Ms. Jackson and her standing up for what is right. I am right there with her. I don't watch the show "glee" but I did just see the "kiss" and I can only say, I will pray for the gay and lesbians in this world. Because if they don't "choose" to repent and follow Jesus they will all burn in hell.

If you think you know people who have "chosen" to not be gay after being openly gay, well then you're either insane, a liar, or extremely guillable. That, or your poor friends had EST and it severely damaged their brain.

I have a conundrum for you and I want you to consider and answer seriously. Less than 1/6 of the worlds population is Christian. Each of these religions believe that there is some sort of afterlife/heaven. You claim that if you don't repent in Jesus, well, you're going to hell. They claim the same about you. So who's right? Who's going to hell?

As I see it, the only people not going to hell are the ones who don't believe in it in the first place! Haha sucks to be you.

And if you are referring to ANY written text...thousands of years old, filled with myth, legend and tribal history then you are just stupid. Remember, it is a sin for women to cut their hair in the bible and it is OK for girls to sleep with their fathers as long as they get him drunk first. Nice…I want to go back to the social mores of the bible…that would be great. I could buy my wives…yes, I said wives as in the plural form of wife the same place I could buy my cows and slaves. Ah…yeah…I could own slaves…awesome. They could bury the bodies of my enemies after I kill them in the name of my god. Yeah…I wanna go back to a time when slavery, polygamy, animal sacrifice and incest where common place. You are right…maybe there is something to the bible after all.

“Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says.” (1 Corinthians 14:34)

In looking at her photo, she might also want to consider what the Bible has to say regarding gluttony. She might also want to reconsider if some of her SNL scripts were so morally Christian. She is simple the voice of another “Christian” hyporcrit.

    Where's your anger towards Islam?

    Sounds like your the hypocrite.

The difference is obvious even without reason the Bible verse in context. Which happened to be what our preacher's sermon was on yesterday.

To all of you who mock Christianity and therefore Christ, read the New Testament and see for yourself how you cannot find anything hateful and oppressive. I have only read a couple of comments on this and its apparent that everyone is missing the point. Glee has never been billed as a clean cut leave it to beaver type show. So they attack social issues...who cares. The show is called Glee, its the story of misfits who express themselves in extra curricular activities because they are made to feel inadequate with who they really are. They chose singing and dancing to express these feelings, thqt they would be ridiculed for expressing any other way. You forget that this show is there to show people that its ok to be who you are no matter what other students or teachers say. You as. Human have a right to be who you want, act how you want, and with whom you want. That's the beauty of America, or what America used to be. Intolerance is unacceptable in my America, and if you dont like Glee I suggest that you not watch it, and instead turn on shows like divorce court or judge Judy, or jerry springer, you know all those shows that protect you precious ideas of how perfect straight marriages are, and secluded yourself from the changing of the times.
Tv shows have agendas, but they are just that tv shows, they give hope and guidance to the hapless and lost, much the way church did, but you can't go there because god teqchesvacceptance

And how disrespectful is it to call someone u don't know anything about- a teabagger?

Glee isn't a show that I'd recommend to anyone who is easily offended to watch. Period. I mean they've been building up that make out session for the entire season...why are u just now offended? You should've known it was coming.

Glee is not just about song and dance. If u want that- then watch American idol.

Glee is a comedy that takes NO prisoners. NONE.

How about Sue's personal assistant with down syndrome? Until u know that her sister has downs your mouth drops.

The guy in the wheel chair

    The heavy girl

    The coach who looks mannish

If u watch Glee u must take everything with a grain of salt.

With that said...it is clear as day that the writers are likely not Christians. As they've had an entire episode devoted to why Kurt chooses to not believe there is a God & leaves u with an understanding of why he doesn't. But on the other hand, they don't have Mercedes (?) giving him good reason to think otherwise. Likely because they had a non-believer write that scene.

Then u had the nun and Kathy griffin.

IMO...very disrespectful to Christians, but subtle to where if confronted- they'd be clean.

If it had been Muslims made fun of like that- there would be a firestorm.

Newsflash: everyone in hollywood thinks Christianity is absurd. They try to make us all seem intolerant, judgmental & full of hate. They use one person's flaws out of the
billions of Christians to prove make themselves feel better about not believing.

    It really sucks.

You wanted a response. So here one is. Truth...hah.
The people who think Christianity is absurd have good reason to. A system of beliefs that claims a higher being of omnipotence and benevolence who jcreates things such as a.i.d.s. and cancer, allows wars, and many other things that are surely considered evil in thist world creates an oxymoronic diety. Any being that has knowledge of all and is all powerful, knows exactly what outcome happens in the future forever, and therefore has created people just to condem them for thier disbelief.
you have 3 choices: There is no diety, the diety is benevolent but not omnipotent/all powerful (thus not worth worship), or the being is omnipotent and malevolent (thus you are worshiping an evil diety)

Second, if you don't want to watch a tv show featuring gay folks, maybe not watch shows called GLEE.

Third, every show that doesn't feature gay & lesbian relationships, and that's MOST of them, provide the balance in programming you claim is missing.

To sum it up Vicky, nobody thought you were funny because you just weren't. We didn't hate you, you just weren't funny. It happens. It doesn't mean the rest of the world is filled with sinners.

The concept of Tolerance does not including tolerating hateful bigotry. No matter how hard they try, "religious" people, bigots etc aren't protected by that as they are the very reason the concept exists in the first place.

I actually didn't bother reading all of these comments and I won't. Whilst scrolling to the end of the page, I did see a few key words like, "aids", "protect my kids!" and other typical ignorant uneducated crap.

Please know that the kids you're trying to "protect" might be gay. I'm not telling you that to ask you to be sensitive, because you can't be. You're incapable of seeing us as your equals. In fact I hope they are. The greatest justice God, the Universe, or whatever can ever hand out to people like you is gay kids. Or ultimately it means that you yourself are gay. May you spawn that which you hate and fear and become the thing you hate. The only people who ever rage at what we are, are people who somewhere – the darkest corners of their tiny little brains suspect, ever so quietly that they might be like us.

"They wish to cure us. But I say to you, we are the cure!".

You know thirty to forty years ago it wasn't all that unusual for older men to marry women as young as thirteen. A hundred years ago it was actually quite normal. So what changed? Ahhh the paranoia increased that men (or women for that matter) are actually only out to hurt the younger person in the relationship and don't really love the other person.

You of course can argue that well they lived shorter lives back then and it was necessary et cetera... but today we just lock people up or call them dirty old men.

In this way Jesus can be seen for the universal teacher he truly is–someone whose teachings of compassion, tolerance, and understanding can embrace and be embraced by all of us" This includes EVERYONE Ms. Jackson, like it or not.

And BTW, people, (this is not directed at you, Lori) Ms Jackson's remarks would provoke the same responses whether they came from a 'fat pig' or a stunningly beautiful supermodel, so what is the point of throwing her looks in our faces as though that was somehow reducing her credibility? How in the world do you think this confuses kids at all?

If you feel like seeing this makes you confused maybe you are not actually straight yourself! You could show me 10,000 guys kissing at once and it wouldn't make me or any other straight person the slightest hint of confused. If you are straight you are straight. I never had to decide or think about it or feel confused and there is no way to trick or convert a stray person into being gay. I mean come on. What are you afraid of? Either it's your own feelings or you simply have an utter misconception about human biology and thought.

If your kids are straight, nobody is going to be able to convert them into being gay! And if they are gay you are never going to be able to make them straight! And honestly with all the trouble and grief they still get plus the fact they can't directly have kids with a partner and this and that why would you even think it would be easy for someone to be converted even if it was possible??

Personally, I don't even watch Glee, just seen a little here and there, it all seems pretty average to me and not some masterpiece of writing that everyone raves about or anything but it's hardly pushes some dangerous gay agenda. In fact, if it weren't for all the people like you maybe there would be less danger around since you wouldn't have gay people frightened into thinking they need to force themselves to be straight and ending up getting married to straight people and then having that eventually all go to hell and causing pain for everyone, etc. no?

Personally I don't particularly care to see guy on guy kissing at all but hey maybe they don't like to see guy on girl kissing and it's part of this world so if they want to show it, then show it, no big deal.

If u r goin to do it, close ur damn door. If u don't care about my children, still close ur damn door. Since i dont care what u do behind closed doors, close ur damn door. I just wanted to leave a reply to this. I'm not bashing anyone, but 3/4's of all AIDS cases come from men/men relationships. So, perhaps have a statistic like this on a show that gay men may not use protection as much as non-gay men. Also, blacks make up 51% of Aids cases. This statistic again can be used in shows aimed at straight and gay African American's. Perhaps this person was just making a point, but people jumped down their throat.

Furthermore I don't agree with Victoria Jackson either but it's not fair to spit out your unintelligible diatribes like "born again Christians are right up there with Muslim extremists". I'm a born again Christian who's just not into the strict traditionalism side of things. Because hun I live in New Orleans(party central), I have tons of gay friends and love God at the same time so "born agains" are obviously NOT mirror images of each other so before you generalize again maybe you should realize that people with the same religious beliefs don't appreciate having some passive aggressive stigma laid on them just bc of ONE woman's opinions. Because just as hateful as she was being about 2 guys kissing is the same way you're being about another person's belief system. Your just a "semi hater". It isn't about bashing gay people, but rather giving BOTH viewpoints Equal Time. If an episode of Glee was centered around Jesus everyone and their mother would have been offended. If you're gonna have guy on guy action on broadcast television, BEFORE 10pm there should have been off-setting christian characters as well. (And not the paraody of christian characters either) it isn't fair. I don't have a problem with how certain people choose to live their lives. But when my belief systems are constantly challenged and eroded it can become frustrating. This person has a legit gripe, she just chose to word it like a bigot

Gay is not anti-Christian. Christian is anti-gay. Christians are the ones having a problem, they are the ones that need to grow up and deal with it. That is not the fault of gay people. They are who they are.
If "some" Christians are feeling marginalized by society, it is only because society is moving beyond a primitive belief system. The world is becoming better educated and now questions a system that requires you to believe in outrageous fairy tales. Many faithful are moving to more a broader view of their religions since the fundamentalist view is unsustainable in a modern world.
The Amish got it right. They have their belief system and live within it without attempting to make everyone else follow suit. More power to them.

There isn't a way to say it not as a bigot. That discomfort you feel in your stomach is bigotry.

The difference being color of skin vs. action taken of their own free will. I believe it's the act that is being attacked and not the people. I also love how gay supporters like to throw the whole "Jesus walked amongst the sinners" verse out. One of the most widely misused verses. He walked amongst the sinners to tell them that they were loved and that they should repent and stop sinning, not as an act of "yeah do whatever you want".

      April 11, 2011 at 7:58 pm | Report abuse |

Bob: You make the classic (incorrect) assumption that being gay is a choice by saying that skin color vs being gay are completely different. They're not. Skin color, eye color, hair color, build, height, and yes being gay or straight are genetic traits.

And again you make another classic (again incorrect) statement of "Oh I love the sinner but hate the sin". Which is BS. Because you can't make that claim when there's nothing wrong with them to begin with. Please ... tell me exactly how you "hate the sin but not the sinner"? You sit there and chastise them for getting it on with other dudes/chicks, and then follow it up with ..."but I love you". Do you see why we all hate Christians like you now? You can't claim to "love" someone and then tell them that they're awful people all in the same breath. It's called hypocrisy, and it's the fundamental reason your religion is dying.

The only thing that could possibly matter less than her opinion would be the opinion of an Imaginary Super Being. No amount of faith will change that if those of us who are Christians are wrong. So, unless you want to incur the Wrath of God by judging non-believers, perhaps you shouldn't take the "holier than thou" approach, Lynn.

She doesn't matter, she's just making noise to get back in the spotlight. She's an idiot.

Look at her face. Does she LOOK like a Christian? I hope not. I would remind all of y'all "Christians" that Jesus chose to walk among the "undesirables" of his time. Love your brothers and sisters, no matter who they are, is the new commandment. It can be no other way. There have been people who tolerated intolerance. They are called "martyrs." Like Jesus, Ghandi, and MLK. If Victoria Jackson had a career, it's over now.

Let me guess, if she was slamming chr1sti@ns you would be giddy and shower praises for her enlightenment.
Good for her, nice to see some common sense.

God is love and He loves you. You may ruffle some people with what our saying; but the true body of Christ loves you and wants you experience true love and freedom through the Truth. Jesus is the Way,the Truth and the Life. Renew your mind today by spending time with your heavenly Father. Truth always prevails-in these times we all need Truth. Start by reading the book of John(and read an easy translation like MSG or the New King James or the ASVJ). It won't disappoint you-

As opposed to the Christians shoving Jesus down everyone's throats; THAT'S ok...Right?

Why does CNN call this person a "SNL star". I've never heard of her, she is no star. She is a nobody, like all of us, and she is glomming onto the radical right, neo nazi attack on everything that is, yes different, but also is harmless to us Americans. Get a life.

Is it just me, or does she look like Mis Piggy?
Woman, you were a waste of time on SNL then, and you're a waste of (clearly larger) space now.

Conservatives need to learn that tolerance is the way to peace and happiness..

After all, we have to listen to the crap that comes out of their mouths..
