Johnny Knoxville on 'Stooges' movie: It's a no go

Though he seems born to play the part, Johnny Knoxville has no plans to play the part of Moe in the upcoming "Three Stooges" movie.

The "Jackass" star, who was rumored to be a front-runner for the role, made his announcement official in a recent statement on "I will not be appearing as Moe in 'The Three Stooges,' I love the Stooges, and I love the Farrellys," he said. "A couple of movies I have lined up kept me from it. More on those later."

As Marquee previously reported, the "Three Stooges" movie is slated to begin shooting in April but still has no cast. The PG comedy—featuring three 27-minute shorts filled with slapstick—was to star Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey as Larry, Moe and Curly, respectively. Penn and Carrey exited the project and Del Toro still remains a question mark.

"We got everything in place, but we don't have the cast yet," filmmaker Bobby Farrelly recently told CNN. "But we're looking diligently. There's a lot of good guys out there."

Actually... nobody's a communist. It's such a dead system. The only people who still use communism are Republicans who seem to think it's some sort of swear word.

Be careful who you cast. I'm not sure anyone out there can really do it justice, but if you fok it up, you will never be forgiven by true Stooges fans.

Good! Let this movie die already. I can't think what the idiot brothers would do to my beloved Three Stooges. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

So b/c you don't want to see this movie, without ever seeing what the Farrelly Bro's can put together, they should not do the movie. How about this, if you don't like it, DON"T SEE IT. Maybe their are others who do want to see it. THe whole world doesnt revolve around you, in case you aren't aware of that.

@Ab, is Ab short for flabby? You must sit in front of your pc all day trolling while eating 10 buckets of KFC BBQ chicken daily. I bet your keyboard looks like a BBQ wet dream.
No one cares if you want to see this movie or not. You sound like you must be related to a family of uneducated morons.

anything that keeps your (and mine) beloved Stooges in the spotlight is a good thing. Telling their story does not ruin "The Three Stooges". It may in fact introduce them to a whole new audience, which again is a good thing.
