If it's Wednesday, it must be 'Idol'

"American Idol" judge Steven Tyler better hold on to his bleeper sign because Wednesday night's performances will be the dirty dozen.

Well, not dirty in terms of language or salacious performances but hot, hot, hot. At least that is what we are expecting.

Tonight's theme will be songs from the year the contestant was born and we are hoping that everyone brings their "A" game.

As was the case last week, a compilation album and individual tracks of studio versions of the contestants performances will be available on iTunes after the show. According to a press release, last week's album was a Top 10 seller on iTunes.

Don't forget to join me as I live-blog tonight's performances and Thursday night's elimination show.

All the judges are great! Encouraging and entertaining. Talent fantastic this year. Best Idol ever. Who needed "what's his name?" I am more comfortable watching show without his rude criticisms. Absolutely love Idol this year! WOW!

Kay, etc. – what a rude comment. I don't see you up there winning any events lately.

Someone please give Jacob some X-Lax. When he sings he looks constipated and like hes straining.

I agree. Paul sounds just like Rod Stewart. He may not win but hell go far because of his uniqueness. Jacob always looks like hes straining and in pain when he sings. He was good at 1st but now he just seems to be screaming. Kudos to both James and Casey. We need more hard rockers for sure. Karen limiting herself too much by making everything spanish. That gives her too limited of a fan base. Scott will go far regardless. Country music seems to be hot these days. The rest are bland. Naima is horrid/gaudy.

That paul guy is awful, he can't sing and looks like a puppet jumping around on stage. He is not even in the same bracket as the rest. What is up with judges complimenting him and knocking almost all the others???

you are obviously not a fan of Rod Stewart then, because I believe that this kid is the a very young Rod !!! awesome vocals.. just needs the right songs... so go back to watching Celine Dion if you want something more your speed

Steven is the best judge by far. Look at his career span with Aerosmith. James has this season all wrapped up. Noone else compares. And I think they let Naima go this far for the comedic aspect only. Because she cant sing or dance. I just cant stand her. Lots of good talent. But lots of boring singing too.
