'Facts of Life' cast will reunite at TV Land awards

Fact: TV Land is doubling the nostalgic fun at the network’s upcoming awards ceremony by not only featuring a reunion of the “Welcome Back, Kotter” cast, but also bringing the “Facts of Life” members together again.

Lisa Whelchel (Blair), Kim Fields (Tootie), Mindy Cohn (Natalie), Nancy McKeon (Jo) and of course Mrs. Garrett, as played by Charlotte Rae, will reunite for the first time in 20 years at the 2011 TV Land awards, Entertainment Weekly reports. "The Facts of Life" stars will be on hand to accept the Pop Culture Award.

If you're wondering where George Clooney will be, EW notes that his name wasn't included in the round-up. But perhaps he'll be added in before the show airs on April 17, like they've added to the list of those joining the "Kotter" reunion.

According to EW, it turns out Mr. Kotter, aka the show's co-creator Gabe Kaplan, will indeed join the Sweathogs as they accept the 35th Anniversary Award. John Travolta (Vinnie Barbarino), Ron Palillo (Arnold Horshack), Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Freddie 'Boom Boom' Washington) and Marcia Strassman (Julie Kotter), are already signed up for the ceremony.

Robert Hegyes, who portrayed Juan Epstein, has been added to the reunion as well.

  2. Joe the Plumber

Joe was such the "Man of the House" with all her tools. I recall the episode where she drilled a hole in Ms Garrets bathroom and would watch her taking a dump.

@joe- that was Mackenzie Astin on "when they ran the bakery". Leo DeCaprio was on "Growing Pains" near the end. And for the record I don't recall Brad Pitt on TFOL either, unless it was one random guest appearance.

I can't believe how disrespectful and rude some so-called adults are especially about a reunion for a TV show. Before you call someone washed up, fat and ugly, stop looking in your magic mirror and face reality.

Blair was hot. TV Land has better shows than todays tv. You could watch these shows as a kid or a adult. These days I cant think of one tv show that is appropriate for a youngster.

If there's going to be a "reunion", then Molly Ringwald should be a part of it because she was on the first season of "The Facts Of Life", remember?

  14. Just me remembering

Anyone remember the program by the name "Soap"? If so, did people enjoy it as much as I did? Since watching it way back when, I have found that I have encountered many crazy, funny and bizarre situations portrayed in the show while visiting some families i encountered throughout my lifetime. During these times I would chuckle to myself and think I would think "gee this is like being part of the program Soap"? Lol!! Anyone ever experience this?

Oh and btw the "housekeeper" from Different Strokes is Mrs. Garrett. Facts of Life was a direct spinoff of Different Strokes.

Just a bunch of washed up actors whose 15 min. of fame was over years ago. The shows sucked back the and theres nothing they can do today to make them any better. For reals now. Dont the network execs have anything better to spend their money on?

@Boring. You just don't get it, so go soak your head. Those old Shows often taught lessons about Friendship, Morality, learning, growing and Cosequences. You know, the things most missing today?? Look at today's TV, Daaaaaaa !
