Eva Longoria says in a new interview with Allure that she’s learned to be “a little more cautious” about what she reveals these days, but one thing she is being open about is life after divorce.
In the wake of her split from basketball star Tony Parker, the 36-year-old actress admits that the adjustment hasn’t been easy.
“I’m kind of having to find new patterns because I’m not used to having—I’m used to always being on a plane and flying to a basketball game,” Longoria says of her daily routine, eyes tearing up. “It’s been—every time I talk about it, I want to cry. It’s been hard. Very hard. I’m just trying to get through it as gracefully as possible without any drama.”
The solution? Surrounding herself with great friends, including her "Desperate Housewives" castmates.
“Two actors who I lean on heavily for life advice are Marcia Cross and Felicity [Huffman]. We’re like sisters,” Longoria told Allure. “We’ve been through so much with the show and with our lives changing. We’ve been through marriage, death, divorce, children. They’re just two special human beings.”
She's also currently sharing a home with two of her closest friends. “We always say that my house is the female 'Entourage,'” she jokes. “When you go through something as devastating as a divorce, you just want to be surrounded by people who care for you...I don’t know what I’d do without them.”
So while Longoria acknowledges that she has to build a new routine, the actress is facing it head on.
“I’m in a transition stage," she told Allure, "And I welcome it."
