Chris Brown on Rihanna: I'm done apologizing

Just weeks after an L.A. court ruled that Chris Brown is no longer required to stay away from Rihanna, the singer is speaking out about his 2009 assault on his ex and saying that he's done apologizing.

"People are always gonna talk, but I'm in a positive place. I consider myself a grown-a— man," he tells the New York Post's Page Six Magazine. "At the end of the day, if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I'm gonna look like a damn fool."

Brown, who was ordered to serve five years probation, put in more than 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented service" and complete a 52-week domestic violence program, adds that only a few friends, including N.E.R.D.'s Pharrell Williams, stood by him throughout the dark times.

"You can't blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don't want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap," he says.

Despite all the drama, Brown was never abandoned by his fans and, with their help, he is hoping to put the past behind him.

"The last two years, everybody dissed me," he says. "But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can't walk around mad, because then you just prove everybody right that you're an angry person."

Thanks for the different tips shared on this website. I have realized that many insurance companies offer consumers generous reductions if they decide to insure a few cars together. A significant volume of households possess several motor vehicles these days, in particular those with more mature teenage young children still living at home, along with the savings on policies can certainly soon increase. So it pays off to look for a great deal.

Instead of busting up windows and getting angry, besides stating "I'm a grown man", how about handling those uncomfortable situations with some class? If a reporter asks a tiresome question, all you have to do is reply: "There were some regrettable moments in my life and I have matured and moved on, trying to do better." Would that be so hard? Address the question, then shut it down. But, of course, I think the only part of that which applies right now is the "moved on" because his recent behavior on GMA was far from mature.

wow, people are letting this consume their lives! both a man hitting a woman and woman hitting a man is never okay. abuse goes both ways. the woman he beat has forgiven him and moved on. and i don't see how anyone can say he shouldn't be forgiven. you better not live in a glass house. if we expect to be forgiven for our sins and mistakes, then we also have to forgive. as long as he stays on the right path, he deserves a second chance. wether you want to admit it or not, he is extremely talented in singing, dancing, and acting. And for those of you trying to make this a racist argument.. for one thing, there are PLENTY of abusive relationships in every ethnicity. And for some reason alomost all celebrities seem to be above the law. charlie sheen should be in a mental hospital. and lindsay lohan would've been locked up a long time ago if it weren't for her being so famous. why do we idolize these people? lets move on from this drama and quit the name calling and hate!

I had done his time and they have both moved on. LET IT GO! Imma grown a.. woman who never stopped supporting him. Keep doing what you do Chris, just be mindful about the women you select. This country is pathetic, the least we should have done to this piece of garbage is cut off one hand so he it would be harder for him to attack another woman. She has done nothing to be a role model against domestic violence. It sounds like he has matured and wants to move on with his life. I wish him well. People can heal and learn.

Point blank, this whole situation was about Celebrity against Celebrity. You know good and well, if it was a average girl who got hit instead of Rihanna, this would of got swept under the rug long time ago and everyone would of still supported Chris Brown. So please shut up.. Chris brown isn't the first or gonna be the last man or celebrity to hit a woman.

Secondly, it takes two people to fight.. Some women and men will bash Chris, but is it ok for women to hit men? Women think it is ok, to hit men and they not suppose to hit back... I'm a female, but I have little brothers too.. Both rihanna and Chris was in the wrong..

Every man who say "she might have deserved it" or something like that deserves to be beaten by a man who is bigger and stronger than them. No woman deserves to be beaten. No woman deserves to be cheated on either. Brown is a dirtball and should never have a woman again. He will never cherish a real relationship.

I don't condone the actions but people really need to learn to move on.This is what people focus on with so much going on in the world is just sad and shows how misguided people are. These two people have moved on and done other things with their life since this happened. Here goes another little bit of information to you who are condemning this young man.You are not breaking him because neither he nor Rhianna care that you have put your lives in park over them. For everyone who says I will never forgive him; you don't need to as long as God,Rhianna has and he has forgiven himself and if he strives to be better than he was then that is all that can be hoped for.You don't dictate the success of this young mans life.If you don't want to listen to his music that is fine but remember you don't make or break his success. You are actually a non factor.People can keep being shady but this man doesn't know you and doesn't owe you anything. It is easy to judge when you are the outside looking in but unless you are the almighty you don't have the power to know this young mans heart or the sincerity of his apology. It is easy to sit in judgement of people it keeps us from having to look and evaluate ourselves and our own lives.I refer to him as a young man because he is young and because I refuse to degrade him and he is still learning to be what many grown men still have not mastered and that is being a real man.I applaud him for not giving up and trying to make amends but he is not going to please everyone and the only one he needs to please is God and if he does that your opinions of him are irrelevant.

If this were your son would you want him to have to pay for it the rest of his life? He served the sentence imposed upon him by the courts.

To the rest of you, if you don't like his music, then don't listen. As far as it being horrible music. Yeah, about as horrible as every other artist out there today.

Although not asked for, Rihanna's own behavior make me question her part. All of you make sure you tell your daughters not to hit men, because some will hit back.

I could NEVER condone what Chris Brown did, but I can’t condemn him for the rest of his life. There is no excuse for his actions, but people he is so young and has a lot to learn about being a real man. Even Rihanna lifted the restraining order and moved on with her life, so why can’t we? We are acting God-like and passing constant judgment against a punk kid who didn’t know how to deal with anger correctly. What he did was horrible and I see it for the abuse that it is, so I’m not sugar coating his actions either. Time and his positive actions are the only hope for Chris Brown. His naysayers are waiting for that shoe to drop and for him to make a mistake (whether mishap or crime related) so they can keep justifying their contempt against him. We act like abusers can’t be redeemed or change. I, myself, used to physically fight with my past boyfriends (and yes I am a woman who used to scratch/kick/bite) when I was Chris Brown’s age and now in over 20+ years later, I have NEVER put my hands on anyone again. I found God and real love and realize that using physical violence or any violence is not the way to resolve anger issues. Maybe, just maybe, Chris Brown will be the same way and NEVER put his hands on anyone again. Just give him a break and move on.

Why is it that men are required to apologize when they beat on women, BUT when women beat on men, not only is it OK but they issue NO apology!

The words that make me certain he is unchanged: "People are always gonna talk, but I'm in a positive place. I consider myself a grown-a— man," he tells the New York Post's Page Six Magazine. "At the end of the day, if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I'm gonna look like a damn fool."

He still sees this entire episode in terms of how he looks, he indicates this is the what matters and still what matters going forward. He also seems to feel less than a man since he has to state that fact affirmatively. Secure men do not need to make that statement. Insecure, self centered, fragile ego, pandering friends = abuser.

"Mishap" – what an ASS. Mishap?! True colors, Mr. Brown. He smashed a woman's face in, beat the living crap out of her, and then left her on the side of the road. To me, "mishap" implies that he is utterly clueless and STILL is not taking responsibility for what he did. I'm glad he's "done apologizing" because I now feel his apologizing has never been sincere. This story makes that pretty obvious. I would prefer that he just shut up altogether and go away. I hope his album is an epic fail, that karma beats the living crap out of HIM, and that something like huge, painful, hairy warts grow all over his body. Here's to all the REAL men out there who have character and honor, the ones who do not resemble Chris Brown in any way at all.

I don’t think anyone is asking you to keep apologizing, but you never seemed to show any remorse for what you did. That’s what you’re not getting. You might be over what you did, but many people are not, so take some time and get out of the spotlight for a while.

One thing you all fail to forget it is two sides to every story.....and from what I hear that chick is a hot mess and a quite violent, so he has paid his dues and is focused on moving forward so let it be. Some people learn from their mistakes, he is a terrific artist and talent, nothing like that flake Rihanna and it makes perfect sense for him to take all the blame, because he is "the man"! Women are abusive and psychotic, non of us have the real facts so let this die and move forward! Enjoy his music and the talent that he is, and as long as he remains on the road to recover, everyone should live their own lives and stop passing judgement!

Well i guess the people that are on here diminishing Chris have NEVER in their life made a mistake that they wanted to be forgiving for. And obviously you dont believe in forgiveness. Yes it is unfortunate that, that happened and no ones deserve a beat down (but I have seen some women and men that deserve a BUTT whooping, seriously). But the bottom line is we dont know what happened in that car and if all those injuries were completely from Chris. So before you judge Chris please take a look in the mirror and judge yourself because I know that you are not a Perfect person by far. If Rihanna felt so bad about the situation then she would have NEVER lifted that restraining order, Think About It!!! Still a Chris Brown fan for life! Now if he did it again then the forgiveness will not sit well for me. I think he deserves a second chance People, REALLY!!

I do not condemn what Chris Brown has done, but I do commend him for getting help and doing his time as ordered by a judge. It takes a real man to admit to his mistakes and make it right. As for Rihanna, I feel terrible for what she went through, no one should get hurt like that, but on the other hand she wasn't so innocent in all this either. Before any violence could have happened she could have walked away when she found out his was texting other girls, but she chose to stay and fight with him. Their is always 3 sides to a story, hers, his and the truth.

Rht or wrong, it is about watching yourself instead attempt to avoid a volatile situation and personal injury. Just because we are women, it does not give us a pass to provoke someone to violence. There are women who genuinely live in terror where they are not provoking their men, and are being brutally beaten. My heart really goes out to women in those situations. What I am talking about is when the man is walking away out the door down the street, & the woman keeps on following him, hitting him & pushing him until he snaps...... you are not a victim, you are a participant. You are taking a gamble thinking that he is 100% in his right mind and is rational to not harm you. I believe anybody is capable of really hurting you & I assume no one is 100% when angry so I gotta get away...

OMG, I am reading this and wondering just how many of you are grown-ups with any sort of a memory? Did you all know that in the early days of Garth Brooks, he had hit his 1st wife? From what I read about the Chris Brown/Rihanna story, she got mad (like a normal woman) when she found out he was texting and receiving texts from another woman. Okay, I can see the anger there. However, she hit him, she took the keys out of the ignition and sat on them. Now, while it is not correct, cool, awesome to ever hit a woman, likewise, it is not appropriate to hit a man either. When you find out your man is being unfaithful, its time to get out of dodge. You dont let him pull off the road and then take the keys out of the ignition and then sit on them. You remove yourself from the situation. It really is that simple. Finally, he didnt take her out of the car and drag her bony butt down the street. He didnt go full-on banging her head off the sidewalk. It wasnt as if he regularly beat her. Granted, a smack might lead to anger management issues. But he received a far harsher sentence than most repeat domestic violence offenders receive (and she hit first). Again, this is what I have read immediately after the incident and it was on CNN. I agree with what he is saying. He is finished apologizing because, in the end, it will not make a bit of difference. As you can witness here. How many here have said "well maybe he can be a better role model of what not to do"? Not many. Instead you want to burn him at the stake for ONE incident.

What happened was very awful, & I don't believe in violence againgst women. However, we as women sometimes tend to not know when to "back down" for the sake of our personal safety. Yes, men must exercise extreme restraint over their anger in those situations. But also women must learn when to "bridal your tongue & use wisdom" in those situations as well for the sake of her Safely fleeing that heated situation unharmed. I have seen women follow the man "AFTER he walked away" to go & continue to provoke him until he snaps. While she subconsciously believes that she won because she got a rise out of him, I have to ask you..... with the scars, cuts, bruises & black eyes, broken bones, near death experience, etc....Was it worth it? It is UNACCEPTABLE for men to beat you, but we as women must also do our part not to push too far. Some incidents are unprovoked, but I have witnessed many many avoidable incidents as well. As a collective, WE ALL MUST DO BETTER.

      wow...yet another woman-beater apologist?

Look, if you don't like where an argument is going, you walk away. If the smaller person must always hold his/her tongue for their own safety, then political discourse would be dominated by the largest guys, adults will always get to beat the opinion out of their own children, young people will always be right because we can take on older people.

We don't operate by "might is right" because we're HUMANS and we're supposed to exercise reason and restraint. I'm female and does that mean every time I have a disagreement with a smaller female, i'm always right because they have to back down or I get to hurt them? That's a ridiculous assertion. If I can't stand a conversation, I walk away.

How about "survival is key?" It sounds to me like you just love to fly off with a very sharp tongue. I am a woman, & as a woman who has had to learn the ropes of survival in life, I've witnessed quite a bit & experienced some as well. What you & I both know to our core "is that everyone does not always do what is right or behave correctly." I had to pepper spray my Mom's ex-boyfriend because he was high as a kite & for hours he was verbally abusive, then he raised his hand to strike me & my mother & I sprayed him. Before he attacked, he made sure to take ALL of the phones from the house to ensure that we couldn't call the police (cell phones too). Now Z, you tell me, in that type of situation w/out protection or a phone, would you dare continue to provoke him? W/out a weapon, I would have remained quiet until I could get away from that dangerous situation. Sometimes, YOUR MOUTH WILL WRITE A CHECK YOUR *$$ CANNOT CASH. In other words, if you are unable to match that man's physical strength with your own, remain quiet, do your part, get outta there unharmed, then cut that person out of your life. Also, logic is best. Your emotions will put you in a horrible place during such times. When you are in a dangerous situation like domestic violence, you adversary doesn't care about " how you feel, because at that moment your feelings don't matter." It is best to shut up, watch what you say, live to see another day...

Is it okay for females to commit violence against females? What is your stance on foxy boxing? MMA for women? What should happen to a woman who commits a personal foul against another woman in the WNBA?

What if a woman is holding a child hostage with a knife? Should we leave her alone until she calms down or kills the child?

Chris Brown fans, stop pleading with those that hate Chris because in all truth THEY DON'T MATTER AND THEY ARE NOT RELEVANT.The only people who are RELEVANT are his fans AND GUESS what Chris knows that and he don't care about them as well.If a Black man is not on their knees begging these White folks for something, trust and believe they GET UPSET about that and that's why they call Chris names like arrogant or whatever but I'm like whatevah!.

Many of these people are just straight up cowards and racists,I might add. These same hypocrites support people like Charlie Sheen/Mel Gibson with an eagerness unheard of AND DON'T even BE FOOLED into believing they care about Rihanna.I even saw where one fool was talking about how she got abuse and of course she think Chris and Chris only should be burdened with her issues and of course she don't hold Charlie Sheen to that burden and of course the person that actually done it is long forgiven by her but she seems to think Chris is at fault. These are losers that want to see Breezy losing and it is eating them up that he is #winning#!!!

You don't need to apologize. You just need to screw off and get lost! The apologies are about trying to save your career !!!

Quite frankly I'm sick of the only issue in any of these cases being about making amends to fans to save their careers. ie; Dwayne Chapman, Mel Gibson, etc. Fame is a gift (or curse some would say) and you blew it big time. SO GET LOST! It's your family and friends that you need to worry about now.

"Some of you are referring to his violent crime as though it were a minor traffic accident or some petty theft in a jewelry store. Even the monster calls what he did and his relationship to it as, "...someone who had a particular mishap." Hey, Killer, you didn't get in a fender bender on Sunset Boulevard, you nearly beat a defenseless woman to death. From reading these posts, i'm convinced that we ALL have let our physical and mental emotions get the best of us. I have a son, and would never condone him handling his emotions by hitting a woman; however we have not heard the complete story and really why should we? This was something that occurred between two teenagers who were thrusted into the limelight. Neither deserves the threats and abuse that the public is giving them. Think back when you were teenagers and some of the stupid things that you've done. Chris is like every other male or female who has made a mistake (we just haven't done it in public). He deserves the right to move forward and have a successful career; and for those of you who will not buy his music, there are millions who will...that's he power of free choice. Be passionate about your beliefs and convictions but don't continue to condemn the young man. We don't know what is lerking in his subconscious, about how he was raised, about trying to make it in this segregated we all should show a little more love and support for these young men (and woman) who are really trying to find themselves. I pray for all youth that they grow stronger in their thinking and doing. And remember he has a Momma and she has a Father!!!

Sounds more like Chris is hoping to forget rather than learn from the incident. He doesn't want to discuss the incident because he thinks he will look like a fool. Those are not the words of someone who has learned from the fact that he beat up a woman. It does not matter how old he was, he beat up a woman. He was hoping to quietly do his community service and take his domestic violence class and then go back to his life of selling records. Unfortunately for Chris, the record that is still on everyone's mind is the criminal record from him beating a woman.

You are no role model because you are not mature enough to deal with the fact that you were arrested for beating a woman.

All these little kids on this comment board that are bashin a young black man are correct. You never hurt a woman, BUT he was only 19, you got people like Charlie Sheen who do just as bad, but they dont stop. Charlie has been to rehab an all that and is still strangling and threatening girls. Chris however has done his time, apologized, and has not violated probation and hes working hard to redeem his image then most celebrities do. I give alot of credit to what hes doing, but not for what he did. I think any young men in after making a huge mistake need to learn something from Chris. You call Chris a coward, even though he came out and admitted he was wrong, thats not cowardly, thats taking responsibility. He hasn't done anything wrong for over 2 years so once he does then you people can bash him, until then tho if hes doing nothing wrong then i think he should be allowed to live his life. And all you kids that are threatening to kick each others asses when you guys are probably multiple states away are the real cowards, i see comment posters threatening to beat other comment posters up, thats cowardly and real punkish, grow up.

what in the hell is wrong with you people? first of all, whether she did or did not egg him on is not for discussion because we were not there! secondly, even if she argued with him, acted inappropriate in any way, that happens DAILY between men and women when they're out partying and that does NOT mean it's ok to beat a woman half to death. what in the hell are you people smoking?? he didn't just hit her – DO YOU KNOW THE LIST OF INJURIES??? he bit her, multiple times in addition to other horrific acts of violence. HE ADMITTED IT AFTER SHE CALLED 911 and he tried making excuse only to realize he was screwed. so we should priase him for "admitting his part"? he didn't admit crap until he got arrested and couldn't lie about it. should we talk trash about him for the rest of his life? hell no but should we absolve him for what he did because he "admits his part"? NO WAY! it's been 2 years, not 20 years and what he did could have killed her. if he's a "grown ass man" he will continue to move forward and continue paying for his mistakes in a way that helps educate others. only time shall tell who this man REALLY is.

ps. if one more person says we should all move because he's talented, etc. i'm going to puke. i don't think anyone cares if the man does or doesn't move on. i mean, it won't affect my freakin life but acting like he was caught running a red light or got into a street fight with another dude is just wrong. a regular man, a NON POP STAR, who abuses woman is always labeled as an abuser. it doesn't disappear after 2 years because the guy is a hard worker or talented. it's a label he deserves until he can continue to prove to us that he does not...and 2 years of hiding does NOT prove crap.

I was in an abusive relationship and yes we had words but honestly, a REAL man would almost eat off his entire hand before he disrespected a woman i the way it has been done. I guess you never think seriously about it until it happens to you or your mom or someone that you love otherwise it is easy to distance yourself from the implications of it. Just stop apologizing Chris, you really never meant it anyway. Move on with your abusive life. We saw him talk about how his mom was abused and now he does the same. Very sad

not saying what he did was a good thing or justified. BUT I have read so many comments on here that are far much worse then what he did. Many people have anger issues on here, but much worse because some of you people are talking about killing him. Or is that the American way to deal with thugs but then that would make some of you commenters thugs as well. I would think some of you posters should go to anger management too, but then you probably think your better then he is. He has apologized nine ways to Sunday. You can choose to believe his sincerity or not. He has paid his debt to society based on any other example of a first time offending 19 yo kid with no prior criminal record. If he so much as gets caught with a joint in the next three years he could go to jail. We're in year 2 of Chris Brown hatred (and day 12 of Charlie Sheen worship despite his repeated abuse against women). 180 hours of community service and mandatory counseling for six months. But you can choose to believe Chris "got away with it" as well. Your choice.

This is ALL about haters needing to hate on something for reasons that stem from either racism or emotional hysteria or both.

I do agree with him on the fact that he can't keep apologizing, he has to take action and really try to change his life around by dealing with the issues in his life. I hope that he is doing that. One thing that I really don't understand is why so many of the people in this comment section are condemning him for beating Rihanna and yet feel that he should be beaten himself. That is VERY hypocritical in my opinion. I would just think that if you hated the fact that Rihanna had been beaten, why would you want that to happen to someone else??? Anyway, I wish him the best and I really hope that outside of his music career, he is doing everything that he can to get his life together. I wish Rihanna the best as well and I am so glad that she chose the high road and forgave Chris, instead of holding onto the anger and pain. Good for her!

Man, woman, child, granny, who cares! I am sure that she violated him on many occasions and he just had enough and thugged her out. Good lesson learned! By both. I simply said that if someone hits you thereby, violating your right to safety, then they cannot complain when you haul ass on them and beat them back, however forceful. Its a simple concept that people who are quote unquote, weaker should understand.

Wake up people, the boy obviously had to have been pushed to the brink in order to do that, since he had so much to lose. Of course we will probably never know what truly happened that evening, but I seriously doubt that he just decided to do what he did 'just' because she looked through his phone. She had to have crossed the line, one too many times, and rightly so, got her ass beat! I'm sure she'll keep her hands to herself now!

It wasn't a white collar crime or shoplifting. One extra punch and rihanna may have died. Heck, she may have died from her injuries too. People have died from much less. I wouldn't defend a violent offender of my race just because he's my race. Frankly, if he wasn't rich or famous he'd be in jail.

Just like my journalism professor says, the media waits for one person to break a story and just piggybacks off it without doing any research. If anybody was in need of therapy it's Chris Brown. You would think that after everything he has been through in the past two years he would show some humility and contrition. Ever since the brutal attack that he put on Rihanna he has shown himself to be a person who lacks empathy and compassion. I have heard him try to excuse his behavior multiple times in interviews and I have seem him publicly malign Rihanna (painting her as manipulative, vindictive and a liar) all while trying to downplay his attack and squarely put all the blame on her (urban radio included). The way that Rihanna and Chris Brown's story has evolved is a complete text book Abusive Relationship. Mr. Brown may not have been able to see Rihanna but he and his Mother have made comments that leave a very bitter taste in my mouth. I will not support those who believe that abuse in any form is an excusable act. I am no longer a fan of Mr. Brown not solely because of his abuse against Rihanna but because of his actions and demeanor after it. It's sad that so many of his young and impressionable fans have saluted his behavior and have in their minds excused his actions because they out all the blame on Rihanna. The cycle of abuse will continue among our young with Chris Brown as their martyr.

He has apologized!!! The point of that statement is that he doesn't have to keep apologizing to everybody because he is trying to move on. The only person that he had to apologize to is Rihanna and she is clearly over it and has accepted his apology. She doesn't see him as threat and that's why there is no longer a restraining order. Everybody makes mistakes and you own up to them but you do not have to go your whole life apologizing to the world.

No!!!! He's saying that he can't keep apologizing for something he cannot change, it doesn't mean that he's not remorseful for what he did to Rihanna. Him beating Rihanna is in the past, no one can go back and change it. I mean, I bet if we all could go back and change our past mistakes, I'm pretty sure Chris himself would be one of the first people to do so. I know some people on here want to think that he will never change and that he's trying to make people feel sorry for him, but I think that he's finally starting to stop feeling sorry for himself, if that makes any since. I hope that he is doing everything necessary in his life to deal with his issues and I personally wish him the best.

Jason from your posting I would take an educated guess that you are a white man. Chris Brown in not white and you could never understand how it feels to be a black man. Judge ye' not is what I was taught. Dont's bash him if you were not there and did not see it for yourself. Have a coke and a smile. Your credit score is raising as I type.

CNN you are so misleading with this article. For the full story, please go to the NYPost website and search for Page Six Magazine. Below is the actual question posed to him in the interview when he is asked about "fame" in the industry:

"When asked what he would say to his younger self, Chris waits a good 30 seconds before answering.

"This kind of sounds bad, but initially, be more selfish," he says. "When I first came into the industry, I was more open. I thought everybody was my friend, and it was like Wonderland. I was in the industry without a care, because it's so fun, and there's money and everything. But you need to protect yourself."
He tilts his head in such a way that his dime-size diamond stud earrings catch the light. He gets up and puts on his coat. "People are always gonna talk. But I'm in a positive place. I consider myself a grown-ass man. And at the end of the day, if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I'm gonna look like a damn fool."

He said nothing about Rihanna in the full statement. The media is so slanted on this young man who has yet to break his probation for the past two years. Once he re-offends sure tear him a new one but he deserves the space to move forward given he has lived up to his punishment; Rihanna felt comfortable enough to reduce the order; and has not tested positive for any elicit drugs (and yes he is drug tested as a part of his probation).

THANK YOU!!! People need to stop twisting words for money. I mean, I get it. I know that people hate the fact that Chris beat up Rihanna, I hate it too, but sitting here condemning him for his actions and threatening his life is NOT going to help him change his ways, it just isn't.

Thank you for sharing this information but people want to end this talented young mans career so badly that they will stop at nothing. Is it because he is intelligent, black and handsome that he is being harrassed. I think the middle identifying trait is what all of this about plus he is rich. Stop hating. Get therapy or get a life. Leave Chrish and Rihanna alone and allow them to move on with their lives.

People make mistakes everyday and everywhere, some more serious than others. This young man has admitted to his, taken his punishment like a man, and is now trying to move on with his life. Of course, her attacking him in a jealous rage is perfectly alright because she's a "lady"? Two wrongs don't make a right, but I would have thought better of her had she acknowledged that her behavior was wrong too. Instead, she played her "victim" card into instant celebrity, and the haters are still trying to destroy his career. It's disgusting!

@Tangela, people don't want to end his career because he's a handsome, talented, intelligent, young, black man; people want to end his career because he attempted to kill someone. It's been two years and it's great that Rihanna has moved on, and I'm not saying that he shouldn't as well, however; a lot of people don't think he should be able to move on with continued fame. There's a huge difference between the two motives.

Oh and the whole ordeal about him beating the crap out of Rihanna, definitely isnt because he is black. It's because he is an a_hole that thinks he is above the law because he is a celebrity, not to mention he has serious control issues, and was probably abused as a child. My guess is that you are black Tangela, and that not only are you playing the "race card" for Chris Brown but that this is something you do for yourself as well to segregate yourself from real problems and issues; it's a diversion. It's always easier to make excuses than to live up to the real problem, especially if it's a problem with yourself. Chris Brown is going to be attacked about this is, as would any other actor. Look at Mel Gibson and Alec Baldwin. No one was happy about the things they did and said and people certainly werent blogging on their behalf. And we were not just hard on them because "they're white". So that's nice to make excuses for Chris Brown, but take some of your own advice and let Chris Brown fend for himself. 😉

Rihanna told a blogger who took issue with her reducing the restraining order and Rihanna responded to her:
My fans don’t care abt a restraining order and neither do I!

Given that she doesn't care about a restraining order that would tell me she is not in fear of her life. She (the victim) has move forward.

Some of you are referring to his violent crime as though it were a minor traffic accident or some petty theft in a jewelry store. Even the monster calls what he did and his relationship to it as, "...someone who had a particular mishap." Hey, Killer, you didn't get in a fender bender on Sunset Boulevard, you nearly beat a defenseless woman to death. You think a couple of years and some community service is going to make that all go away? Think again.

So Mel Gibson goes on a rant, spews some racial slurs and he needs to never work again and burn in hell forever and ever like so many people say. However Chris Brown can beat a Woman to a swollen bloody pulp and after a few apologies all is forgiven and he can go back to singing and host SNL? Mel Gibson dug his own grave for sure, but still beating a woman like a man( I saw the picture) like Chris brown did was a thousand times worse.

Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture? People need to get their damn priorities straight, societies hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. Mel Gibson will never be fully forgiven while most people will sweep what Chris Brown did under the rug like it was no big deal. Chris Brown does not need to apologize anymore. The words I'm sorry only go so far. if he can start living a life that shows he has grown up and past that and becomes a better person of course he deserves forgiveness. Now I know Mel Gibson has some domestic violence accusations ( nothing as bad as brown though) however everyone knows good and well that is not why people are so mad at him and that forgiveness for him is unlikely.

Not that these cases have anything to do with each other, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Disgusting. He refers to the beating he doled out on a woman as a "mishap". He bemoans those "friends" who had the good sense to not stick around after they found out he brutally abused women. It's obvious he doesn't understand what he's done, and seems only remorseful for being caught and having had to pay some price for the horrible deed. A deed he still doesn't seem to grasp as horrible.
