Jason Bateman: 'Arrested Development' movie will be incredible

It looks like the dysfunctional Bluth family really are headed to the big screen. Jason Batemen confirms that a script for the "Arrested Development" movie is currently being written and the storyline is "incredible."

Rumors of an "Arrested Development" film have been swirling ever since the Fox series was canceled in 2006. Bateman tells MTV News that show creator Mitchell Hurwitz is currently at work on the script and the two have discussed the plot points.

"For the very first time, [Hurwitz] sat me down last week to talk about what he's got and where he's going and what do I think," says Bateman, whose co-stars on the quirky comedy included Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi and Will Arnett. "As a fan of the show, I was vibrating with excitement that he was pulling me behind the curtain."

While Bateman remains mum on plot details, he is happy to reveal that "Arrested Development" fans won't be disappointed.

"It's everything you would want it to be and more," he says. "I really hope [Hurwitz] finishes soon so we have a shot at doing it before the end of the year."

no it wont. an arrested development movie is going to be stoopid. it really will be not good. why dont we make a happy days movie or family ties movie. this is just dumb. i bet they do not make enough money to even cover the production cost. i wouldnt invest 1 cent in it and i am a smellly mexikin.

They've been talking about this for five years. As a screenplay has yet to be completed, this is yet another tease! I have very little faith this will ever come to fruition.

Kevin...would you like to walk in the park with me holding hands? We could disappear into the woods and you could then introduce me to your "chubby".

Jason Bateman gets more adorable the older he gets. And he's funny and charming and talented.
