Demi Lovato opens up about the 'darkest time of my life'In an emotional new video message to her fans, Demi Lovato opens up about the personal issues that drove her to seek treatment. "I wanted to send you guys a message 'cause I know that you've seen me out and about and I wanted to let you know that I am back and [at] home. Welcome to my home," a happy Lovato says in a video posted on Cambio.com. "But I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the support that you've given me along the way." In November, Lovato canceled her concert tour and entered a treatment facility for help with "emotional and physical issues"; she returned to her Los Angeles home in January.
"Your support is what got me through this," Lovato tells fans in the video. "So I couldn't be more thankful for everything you guys sent me. The journey that I've been on has been very, very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age but girls of all ages are dealing with. I hope to one day raise awareness of everything, so that I can help people too, just like you guys helped me through this rough time." Lovato adds, "I can't tell you how much light you brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys I wouldn't be here today." The actress/singer hints that she has some exciting projects in the pipeline and is looking forward to getting back to work. "I can't wait to see you in person," she says. "I love you all and I couldn't have done this without you."

I see a lot of news stories like this one. A person I never heard of has had personal problems that I never knew about. This has affected her career (but I have no idea what she does). Happily now, due to fan support, her unspecified problems have been resolved and everything is now fine. Please continue to purchase her cd's, concert tickets, fashion line, cosmetics, colon cleanser, or whatever it is she is selling.
It is interesting what one person assumes to be common knowledge yet another person has had absolutely no awareness of it at all. Just yesterday I saw a commercial for "New Deal Furniture." I suffered anexoria/bulimia as a teenager.. I got the help I needed early on before it went way out of hand.. kudos for her to do the same. Everyone has a "dark era" in their life.. I couldn't agree with you more...This morning I heard about the man in NY, who punched out a lady OVER A PARKING SPACE. Then left the scene. While I agree with her decision to seek help, I disagree with her lifestyle. She started acting at young age for Barney. From my perspective,It is ok start a child acting at a young age as long as you do get them to any shows or commercial until later on in life. I believe it is important to teach your child how to behave and the values of their actions come into play in their everyday life. Getting started with TV shows at young age equals diaster. At least that is my opinion.
I am also surprised by the offensive domments posted. How would you know what Demi has been through? She's only human and can only handle as much emotional stress as she can. At least she had the sense to deal with her problems by being in rehab. Things like this should not be joked about because there are many people who have reached a low point in life like Demi. While I agree that it was a complete waste of time reading this article and the subsequent replies, there are a few issues I would like to address. First, to miss Demi, my sisters look up to you and what ever problems you are having probably cannot compare in the long run to the issues they are dealing with right now. Therefore you do not need to be public with some ambiguous problem just to gain more attention for your distress. Secondly, there is no need to be so degrading and disrespectful about this situation, everyone who wants to be immature or pointlessly argue with the immature really needs to find a new hobby. Thirdly, the fact that this article exists and has so much hype surrounding it just shows how backwards this nation has become, where we care more about some alleged problem some disney star has or had, rather than the education problem happening in Wisconsin. Americans need to understand the better management of their time, and I admit that I fall into this group as well because of my own post.

As a mother of three beautiful daughters I am so happy for this young lady and her family. It must be hard to watch a loved one struggle with problems that are hard to overcome. But she has done it and hooray for her. My children watch the disney channel and love watching Miss Lovato. She is a beautiful, talented young lady that has alot to offer this world. May God be with her. And maybe her plight might be able to help another young lady seek help instead of the wrong resolution.
I commend Ms. Lovato for seeking the help she needed, for whatever reason she needed. Girls and young women face many challenges. Money and fame don't change many of those challenges. As the mother of two young girls, I hope they can one day use this as an example of strength, not weakness.
