Paula Abdul fine after frantic 911 phone callAnd now for the latest in Paula Abdul news: TMZ has obtained a recording of a Valentine's Day phone call Abdul made to 911 in which she appears to be having a spat with her boyfriend as they drive along a Santa Barbara freeway. "I want out of this car and he won't let me!" a frantic, crying Abdul tells the operator, before saying to her beau, "Are you gonna drop me off? Are you gonna drop me off, 'cause I have emergency on the phone!" The "Live to Dance" host ultimately tells the operator she is indeed being dropped off.
A spokesperson for Abdul tells CNN, "Arguments with loved ones are oftentimes heated. After the call was made everything was worked out." In happier news, Abdul is on the shortlist of people being considered for the judges' panel on Fox's upcoming talent contest "The X Factor." “We’ve taken it down to a smaller group of people and she’s in that panel,” Simon Cowell told "Access Hollywood," adding that Mariah Carey, Nicole Scherzinger and George Michael are also under consideration. “But, you know, it’s more than me who makes the decision.” "The X Factor" will make its début this fall.

It sounds to me, from what LITTLE information was given and what I have heard, that she was doing what any reasonable person would do. Should she have just stewed in her own anger and uncertainty or perhaps grabbed the wheel and caused a 20 car pile up? Perhaps she didn't make enough issue for you all. Would it have been better.. more interesting for you .. for them to have a physical altercation? Maybe then you would have found just cause for her to call the police, in which her tax dollars pay for. That is what the police are for. To serve and protect. I am sure they are grateful to her for calling rather than blowing it out of proportion and causing a type of commotion and disruption that would have lead them to have to scape a few carcasses of the interstate. But maybe that is what you all look for.. Thanks TMZ for again getting 'all up' in the 'bizness' and reporting a half a** story.

This is a complete abuse of the 911 system. She needs to be charged and fined for her self-centered behavior. What if response to a REAL emergency had been effected?
She ran out of meds and her boyfriend wouldn't get them for her... is that it?
