If you believe recent reports, Anne Hathaway and James Franco deserved best actor awards for pretending to like each other while hosting the Oscars ceremony.
According to Us Weekly, the duo "grew to hate" one another during rehearsals for the February 27 event. "She had to provide all the energy — he was just phoning it in," an insider reportedly told the magazine.
Us also reports that Franco was so upset by how the show went that he skipped his own after-party at L.A.'s The Writer's Room.
But spokespeople for both actors, however, say Hathaway and Franco thought the awards show was a golden experience.
Franco's rep denied the story to Us Weekly while Hathaway's rep tells CNN, “The story is completely false. Anne had a wonderful experience hosting with James and those stories of them not getting along are complete fabrications."
